Chapter 16 Powerless to Fight Back

She and Devin had no emotional basis due to their lightning marriage.

Though living together, they are just strangers linked by the marriage certificate.

After hanging up the phone, she still felt depressed about Devin’s cold tone.

It was almost at noon that Li Yuan gently knocked on the opened door of the administrative office.

Hearing the knock, Ella turned her head and saw Li Yuan.

“Li Yuan, just come in. No need to knock,” said Ella.

“Out of courtesy,” Li giggled and closed the door after coming in, from which Ella judged that Li wanted to talk about something seriously, and asked: “What’s the matter?”

“Well...” Li sat opposite to Ella, and didn’t spoke unitl turning her head to check the door, “only two persons will go to g city for exchange.”

“Only two?” Ella chuckled, “one is Director Jiang, and the other is either me or you?”

“No.” Li shook her head.

“Settled?” Ella was bewildered.

“Yeah.”

Li nodded.

“Who?” Ella was anxious.

She really wanted this exchange chance. Usually, there is a chance for two persons of each division in three years, and such chance usually belongs to a director or vice director, and a selected doctor, normally the most excellent one in annual assessment.

It’s odd that it has been settled since they haven’t application materials.

“You can surely get the chance basing on the annual assessment, but this year, they...” Li said only after Ella asked.

“They gave the chance to Dong Weiwei,” Li hesitated.

Hearing this, Ella suddenly frowned, and stood up. “So what’s the criteria of assessment? Dong is here less than a day. I’m heading to the director.”

Ella had waited for this chance since she came to work here, and it was finally her time but Dong ripped the chance.

Ella can neither accept nor understand this.

“Calm down, Ella,” Li stopped her at once.

“The assessment is unfair, and I want an explanation from the director,” Ella frowned.

“Ella, be wise! I told you about because I don’t want you to hear the news from the director. ”

“Shouldn’t I ask for the reason?” Ella clenched her fists. “I’ve been waiting the chance for six years, during which I worked cautiously with dedication. I almost sleep at the operating room. I’ve tried so hard to get this chance but it was finally ripped by Dong. She even didn’t submit the assessment materials.”

“Dong Weiwei is Dong Zhen’s daughter,” Li muttered.

“Dong Zhen?”

“Yeah, Dong Zhen, President of Geli Group, who donated 300 million to our hospital...”

Li’s words made Ella stop.
