Chapter 2 Do You Have the Money?

Chase Lu had to explain. “I have something important.”

“Something important? What kind of thing is more important than Cassie?” Shell Wang snorted.

She had failed her business just now, so she intended to release her anger on Chase.

“Chase Lu, my sister not only has to work but also look after Cassie. How tired is she? But you’re here to do something unimportant. Are you still a man?” Chase’s sister-in-law, Jeannie Lin, looked at Chase with disgust.

A young man was standing by Jeannie, whose name was Hayes Hu, Jeannie’s classmate at the university.

Shell was the assistant manager in Shawn’s Pharmaceutical Group. She had talked about a critical business with Josh Group, but it hadn’t developed further for a long time.

Hayes said he knew the manager in Josh Group, so he took Shell there to look for the manager’s help.

But the manager refused, which made Hayes shameful, so now Hayes was in a terrible mood.

“Yes, I don’t know why my sister was willing to marry such a coward.” Jeannie sneered.

“Man can be poor, but can’t be cowardly,” Hayes said.

Chase glanced at them, without any word, gong to the gate.

“What are you going to do? Go back to look after Cassie.” Shell frowned.

“I have something to talk with John Lu,” Chase explained.

“What? John Lu? Do you want to be thrown out like a dog?” Shell grabbed Chase.

If Chase was thrown out, she would be shameful, as well.

“Mom, let me go. I really have to talk with John Lu.” Chase frowned.

“Are you kidding me? John Lu is the richest man in our city, so what advantages do you take to look for him?” Jeannie sneered.

“They both named Lu, so maybe their ancestors were from one family five hundred years ago.” Hayes laughed.

Chase felt angry for their irony, but he couldn’t argue with Shell, so he took out the phone and intended to call John.

At this moment, a graceful woman in uniform came over.

Shell released Chase, confused.

“It’s general manager Lu’s secretary,” Jeannie said.

“Maybe they have changed their attitude. She must invite us to go back and negotiate. Auntie Shell, congratulations on the success of such a big contract you’re going to make.” Hayes flattered.

“Really?” Shell looked excited.

Chase negotiated with John. He didn’t want to forgive his father, but John refused to give him money without signing the contract to inherit the assets.

Chase had to sign and then left with the money.

He didn’t care about how John would report this to Terence Lu. Though he decided to inherit the assets, he still unwilling to forgive Terence.

As he went into the ward, he found Milne came again, sitting closely by Jayne and chatting with Cassie.

Chase squinted, striding to the bed.

Just as he was about to tell Jayne those things, he saw Jayne glared at him with fury.

“Chase Lu, where have you been?” The nurse urged the expenses again just now. If it hasn’t been for manager Fan’s help, Cassie would have been driven out!” Jayne shouted.

She was so disappointed that at this critical time, Chase still kept his dignity and ran out regardless of his daughter. She was so blind to have loved such a person.

“Mommy, don’t blame daddy. Daddy is hard.” Seeing they were about to argue, Cassie requested.

Chase was wronged, but his anger was gone for Cassie’s word. He squatted down to pat Cassie’s head. “Dear Cassie, I’m not hard. I’ve gotten the money, so you’ll be fine soon.”

“Really? Daddy, it that true?” Cassie asked with surprise.

“Sure, daddy never lie to you.” Chase nodded.

“Great, Cassie will be fine. Mom, look, daddy is a capable man. I didn’t lie to you.” Cassie smiled.

Jayne smiled, too. Though she though Chase’s word deceptive, she didn’t want to let Cassie down.

But her eyes were full of worries.

Cassie was clever. If Chase couldn’t prove his promise a few days later, Cassie would be upset, which Jayne didn’t want to see.

“Jayne, don’t mind it. Maybe Chase didn’t get the money but said it to cheer Cassie up.” Milne fomented deliberately.

Chase stood up, glaring at Milne.

“Don’t worry. Although you didn’t get the money, I’ve paid for the expenses already. After all, Cassie called me uncle just now.” Milne sneered, his disdain not covered.

“Chase, what are you doing?” If manager Fan didn’t help us, we would be expelled. Hurriedly, apologize to manager Fan!”

“Why? If it’s just for the money, I have the money.” Chase snorted.

“You have 300 thousand yuan?” Milne laughed, the sarcasm in his eyes getting more.
