Chapter 1 A dragon-shaped jade.

by Madman 11:03,Sep 12,2020
It was said that long, long time ago, dragons had all died for no reason and mankind had raised from the corpses.

That was why people all had nine blocked dragon-veins inside their bodies, and each vein broken through by accumulated Chi would lead to more tremendous power.

Yet not everyone was so lucky to do such things.

Lance Yang was one of the ordinary ones.

In the middle of nowhere, there was a small town called Baiyang, and that was where Lance lived.

On a normal morning, he was having fun with a girl from a brothel, lying on the bed when his manservant kicked the door in and yelled, scaring the shit out of him.

“Master Yang! Your father is dead!”

“Huh?” Lance jumped to the floor, naked.

“Your father! He is, D-E-A-D, dead!”

Finally, he heard clearly what the manservant said.

The manservant broke in was called Huang, the most trustworthy people of Lance, and, having been accompanying him for many years, Huang would never lie to him.

Lance got both his eyes and mouth wide-opened, shocked. It took him more than one minute to get dressed and leave the brothel in a hurry.

On his way back, Lance couldn’t help but think, “How could my drunk-ass father just died suddenly, his body supposed to be stronger even than me.”

Soon, he got back to the manor of the Yang family.

Two houses, the Bais and the Yangs dominated the town.

Normally, the child in such families would be happy and rich, but to Lance, it was not.

The master of the house was Lance’s grandfather who was so talented in Chi that he built this family in his early forties, and after that, three of his children were born.

Lance’s mother was the third child of his, and, without doubts, she inherited her father’s talent so that no one in this town wasn’t aware of her name. Yet Lance’s father came to live with his mother in the manor of the Yang family, which was a great dishonor to a man.

His father’s early years were known little by Lance. Since Lance's childhood, his father had been a drunkard who had been left alone in an abandoned, broken hovel. His father did nothing but drink and waited for his death to come.

A useless father caught Lance into an awkward situation in this big family. No one in the Yang family ever considered him as one of their own, even for his own mother. For this reason, he had lived by himself outside the manor since he was ten, but having carried the family name, he got his life going expectedly well.

Ignoring the disdainful eyes of the guards at the gate, Lance went in through the side door.

Before he could make it to the hovel, two men blocked his way.

The young man wearing a white, luxurious robe was his cousin, Zhan Yang who was given birth by the second son of Lance’s grandfather.

Behind Zhan was the servant, Lou, and he was trying his best to ingratiate himself with Zhan.

“I heard the old sucker of yours is dead, is he?”

Zhan was quite a tall, strong man, and he looked down at Lance with the eyes full of mockery.

He was only seventeen years old by now, but he had already broken through four Dragon-veins.

Each vein that was broken though represented a stage, and four of them meant the fourth stage of dragon-veins, which was quite an achievement for his age.

That was beyond the imagination of Lance.

For the other kids of the Yangs, countless herbs and methods beneficial to break through were served to them, but neither was given to Lance, so he didn’t even make it to the first stage of dragon-veins by now.

Without instruction, all of his efforts ended up in failure.

“Why don’t you say something? What, are you getting upset because I call your father a sucker?” Zhan grinned.

Still, Lance didn’t say anything.

He had been familiar with such insults, because no matter how well he lived his life outside, once he went back to this house, he was nothing but a piece of shit. Lance knew that he was too weak to fight back, so he had always sucked it up, while today, he didn’t know if it was the reason that his old man was dead, though he looked to be calm on the surface, he was actually quite angry.

“Move aside, Zhan.” After a deep breath, Lance raised his head and said in a frosty tone.

“Oh my dear cousin, how can you speak to your big brother like this? You need a lesson!”

Then before Lance could react, Zhan threw a punch toward his stomach, leaving him falling and crouching in the dirt.

Lou followed Zhan in a hurry and then turned his head to spit on Lance, but he dodged it, regardless of the great pain.

After the two of them were gone, the maids on the side went back to chat with each other, ignoring Lance on the ground completely.

He managed to get up and wiped away the blood in the corner of his mouth.

“What if I could break through the dragon-veins...”

As he thought, ferocity flashed through his eyes.

“Zhan Yang, and Lou, I’ll remember what you’ve done to me, don’t fall, or I’ll cut you alive!”

For all those years, he had always remembered every single one of them who insulted Lance, and he would get his revenge no matter how long it took.

That was Lance Yang, and that was how he survived, which was well-known by those who were familiar with him.

Trembling, he made it to the hovel where his father lived.

“He’s here...”

When saw Lance came in, the maids whispered and left in a hurry as if with one more second staying in the hovel, they would throw up.

And Lance landed his eyes on the corpse lying in his own feces.

Ian Loong, that was his father’s name. Lance didn’t know the man’s early years quite well, but Ian should be at least attractive enough to take his mother as a wife.

“It has been sixteen years, of all this time, I seem never to learn who you are and neither do you. It’s pathetic, father, I stand in front of you, but I can’t even recognize your face like you’re no one but a stranger to me...I can’t even squeeze out a single drop of tears...”

Lance was staring at his father and lost in his thoughts when he heard footsteps getting near.

He looked back and saw a gorgeous woman in a red dress, escorted by a bunch of servants.

It was his mother.

“It’s finally over now, Ian.” The woman just glanced at the corpse and sighed before turning to Lance with an ice-cold face, “He’s, after all, your father, for the sake of that, bury him.”

And then, his mother just left without any hesitation.

Lance sneered and squatted down to Ian’s body, “See, that’s your fucking wife, she just glanced at your dead body and then leave, I guess you didn’t expect that, did you?”

And then he carried Ian’s body straight outside of the manor, ignoring the laughter of the others.

Lance hired a carriage and took his dead father out the town to a woods.

“This place is good, the view is wonderful, and look, there are even birds accompanying you,” Lance put down the corpse and spoke to it, “Maybe you can even find some female ghosts here, so that’s it, alright?”

He then stared at the pale face of his father, and finally, a drop of tear fell down.

“Oh, shit, I guess the woman’s right, after all, you’re my father, huh?”

Lance shook his head and sighed before starting digging with his bare hands.

Though he was a little punk and had no one to help, he never stopped building his body, so at least a hole wasn’t too difficult for him.

When he was going to bury the corpse, his father suddenly got his eyes wide-opened and opened his mouth, making a horrifying sound, which scared the shit out of Lance.

“Oh shit!” Lance screamed and pushed his father into the hole.

Looking at the body, Lance trembled, “F...father, I...I didn’t mean to disrespect you, I j...just want to bury y...”

Ian, though, turned himself over and spit the dirt out, “Bury my ass! I’m not fully dead yet, you little shit! I came to life just to tell you that inside my abdomen is hiding a dragon-shaped jade, you need to cut my stomach open and find the jade so that I could finally rest!”
