Elliot’s voice was raw, “You will never go back to them.”

Mandy knew he was just being kind. But he was her employer and as much as she wanted to write the fairytale where he swept her off her pregnant feet and carried her away, she knew it wasn’t real.

She pushed back widening her legs to move her ungainly body, but instead of moving she heard a giant ripping noise. This could not be happening. She prayed to whoever would listen to swallow her whole.
