After a while, Chuck Hao finally woke up.
Right when he was awake, he felt pain all over his body. His back and head must have all been injured. After lying on the ground for a while, he sat up slowly, and straightened the crooked bandage on his head to cover the area around his eyes, and then he searched around.
He didn't find his guide rod. By touching the surface material of the ground he knew that he was probably on the side of the road, but he didn't know where he exactly was.
Just when Chuck Hao was a little confused.
"Zi!"
A Maybach S80 stopped in front of him. A stunning woman was sitting in the car. When she saw Chuck Hao sitting on the roadside, she held a photo in her hand and frowned slightly.
In the driver's seat, a burly man who looked like a bodyguard frowned and said, "Miss, we...could have found the wrong one. He seems to be blind!"
Susan looked at the photo, and compared it with Chuck Hao, and thought of Grandpa's exhortation.
"Chuck Hao is a medical sage of a generation, and he saved my grandfather's life."
"He has a marriage promise with Linda Lin from the Lin Enterprises in River City, but based on what we know about the Lin Enterprises, they will definitely go back on their word. Only if you found him in the past, you could solve your current troubles!"
She frowned thinking of this.
She knew how much trouble she was in now, but the person in front of her didn’t look like one who could help her.
"We just need to try him to see if he’s the one."Susan said calmly.
She opened the car door, walked up to Chuck Hao, then squatted down and asked, "Excuse me, is this Chuck Hao, Mr. Chu?"
Chuck Hao raised his head, frowned and asked, "Who are you?"
"Hi, my name is Susan. I heard that you have excellent medical skills. I have a close friend who is terminally ill and still sick even after long treatments. Can Mr. Chu please help treat her?" Susan asked quickly.
In the driver's seat, the bodyguard saw this scene and wanted to say something but held himself back.
In order to find Chuck Hao, they spent a lot of energy. First, they went to the mountain village where Chuck Hao used to live, and after inquiring many, they found out that Chuck Hao had no father or mother. He grew up with his grandfather who was a Wandering Doctor using traditional treatment to treat colds and coughs in the village. He even took care of sick poultry and pigs!
They didn't believe a genius doctor would do such a thing.
Moreover, according to the inquired information, Chuck Hao was doing odd jobs with his grandfather. He didn’t receive much of education, and even became blind later.
Looking at Chuck Hao now, his head was covered with blood scabs, and he was dressed in cheap clothes. How could a genius doctor live like this?
"I can lend a hand." Chuck Hao said, "But in exchange, I hope you can drive me back later."
"No problem!" Susan was slightly moved, and she took the initiative to help Chuck Hao into the car not minding his dirty clothes.
"You seem to be injured." After getting into the car, Susan frowned and asked.
"Well, it's okay to be bitten by a dog!" Chuck Hao said, "Take me to the patient!"
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a luxurious bungalow villa. Susan helped Chuck Hao get out of the car. The bodyguard sighed and watched the two enter the villa.
...
In a VIP ward of River City No. 1 People's Hospital, Left City and Linda Lin were going in with fruit baskets.
"Grandpa, I'm here to see you!" Linda Lin smiled sweetly.
Inside the ward was Kevin Lin, the chairman of River City Lin Enterprises.
Seeing Linda Lin walking in, he said cheerfully, "You're here, why didn't you bring Little Chuck here to meet me, he seems to have come to River City to fulfil his marriage promise!"
At this time, Left City said: "Grandpa Lin, what are you thinking? That kid is just a countryman and he’s blind. How could you entrust Eileen's happiness to such a person."
When Kevin Lin heard this, his face turned sour and he said, "Eileen, this is..."
Linda Lin promptly said: "Grandpa, this is my high school classmate. His name is Left City, and now he has founded his own e-commerce company in River City, which is worth more than a billion yuan. Recently, the Su Enterprises from Beijing will come to River City for investment. Have your seen the news? Left City is their partner."
Left City also quickly said: "Yes, Grandpa Lin, this cooperation with the Su Enterprises is estimated to make my company the leading enterprise in River City in less than ten years. E-commerce is the future."
He then coughed drily and said, "The truth is I've pursued Eileen for many years, and Eileen has been moved by me recently. Eileen's parents have also agreed. It's just that we haven't talked to you about the marriage promise."
"Eileen will not marry you." Kevin Lin said calmly, "Eileen can only marry Chuck Hao."
"Grandpa, I won't marry that countryman. Before I came to you, I had negotiated with him to break the promise, and I tore up his marriage agreement." Linda Lin said.
When Kevin Lin heard this, his suddenly became short of breath. He raised his hand tremblingly, pointed at Linda Lin and said, "You...you...you..."
But he was unable to say the following words, his whole body froze, and he passed out directly.
...
The huge villa is like a manor. Susan helped Chuck Hao walk and said softly, "Stairs!"
Chuck Hao raised his head and walked into the villa steadily.
"Nian Nian is here!" A middle-aged lady came to welcome her, and said cheerfully, "This is..."
Susan smiled and said, "Aunt Qin, this is the doctor I found for Sister Ran Ran. Where is she?"
The middle-aged woman looked at Chuck Hao and frowned.
Although Chuck Hao had simply wiped his face with paper and water in the car, but his face was still bruised and swollen, and his clothes were also stained with blood and dirts.
But she seemed to believe in Susan. She didn't say much, but smiled and said, "Ran Ran is receiving treatment in the room. We have found a top TCM practitioner."
"Take us over there to have a look." Susan said.
The middle-aged woman nodded, and led the two of them up to the second floor, in front of a huge bedroom.
In the room, a beautiful woman with a haggard face was lying on the bed. Even though it was summer, she was covered with a thick quilt. Her eyes showed tiredness, with a hint of despair.
A middle-aged man and an old man in a long gown sitting beside her were having a communication.
"River CEO, Miss Jiang's ALS condition is already at a relatively advanced stage. I’m afraid I can’t really help."
"Everyone says that you are the best doctor in Donghai Province!" The middle-aged man said quickly, "As long as you can cure my daughter, I will give you anything, including all the property of my entire Jiang family."
"Oh my, this is a terminal illness! I can only give some prescriptions to slow down the onset of the disease, but..."
"Can ALS be cured?" Susan looked at Chuck Hao beside her and asked when he was still talking.
"Yes!" Chuck Hao said calmly.
Their words caught the attention of the two men in the room.
The middle-aged man raised his head, and when he saw Susan, he froze for a moment and said, "Little Susan, when did you come!"
Susan helped Chuck Hao into the room, and guided him to sit on the sofa, then she greeted the middle-aged man and said, "Uncle Jiang, I just got here. This is the miracle doctor I found for Sister Ran Ran."
After finishing her words, she walked to the bed and looked at the woman on the bed. She said with a trace of sadness in her eyes, "Sister Ran Ran."
The Old Man Long Rope looked Chuck Hao up and down, and said with a chuckle, "Miracle doctor? Just now you said this ALS can be cured?"
Chuck Hao nodded and said, "It can be cured!"
"Pfft!"The Old Man Long Robe sneered and said, "ALS is a terminal disease, and neither TCM nor Western medicine can cure it. Are you a TCM or Western medicine practitioner?"
"TCM." Chuck Hao said in a steady tone.
"TCM?" The Old Man Long Robe sneered again, "TCM attaches importance to experience, hence most of the great TCM practitioners are old. But I think you are only in your 20s or 30s!"
He added, "And look at you, you seem to be blind. TCM relies on making observations, listening to breathing, asking about symptoms and taking the pulse. You can't even complete the first step of making observations.”
He ended by saying, "River CEO, don't trust some quack doctors. Not only will you not be able to delay your daughter's illness, but will speed up her death!"
Chuck Hao ignored the old man, and said calmly, "Can I have a look?"
Hearing the Old Man Long Robe's words, both Susan and the middle-aged man frowned.
Susan looked at Chuck Hao, and said calmly: "Sister Ran Ran is my closest person, if...you are a quack doctor or a liar, you will end up dying miserably!"
"Erm!"Chuck Hao nodded.
The middle-aged man hesitated.
At this time, Ran Ran who was on the bed said, "Anyway, I’m gonna die, it’s just a matter of time. Let him try!"
The middle-aged man was stunned, a trace of pain flashed in his eyes, he looked at Chuck Hao with a glimmer of hope, he nodded and said, "Then give it a try!"
Susan helped Chuck Hao to the bedside. Chuck Hao took a long breath, and then said calmly, "Take off the patient's clothes, please!"
