"Sister Amy had her tongue cut off?" Kerwin looked at Amy and saw that she had a dull expression and her cheeks were sunken.
When Amy saw him looking at her, she suddenly opened her mouth with a hideous and convulsive expression. Beneath the blood-stained teeth, there was a hollow hole that was extremely revolting!
Kerwin was silent. Slowly, he came beside Albert's body and lifted the white cloth.
Albert's body was stiff, his skin was pale, and on his neck, there was a trace of dark bloodstain. A closer look revealed clearly that Albert's head had been put back subsequently!
"Father!" Kerwin fell to his knees, his fierce eyes were filled with tears and almost bursting from rage!
Leif came over, patted Kerwin on the shoulder and said, "Kerwin, you have to restrain your sorrow. It is never too late for a gentleman to take revenge. After we find out the details of that Humphrey Haus and uncover the truth, Uncle will definitely find a way to avenge your father!"
Until then, we must keep your father's death a secret, and suppress what happened at the dock. Don't let anyone know, including the four major families. Do you understand my intention? "
"I don't understand!" Kerwin shouted and slapped Leif's hand away!
Kerwin stood up, looked around at everyone in the courtyard, and said sternly, "Everyone knows in their hearts how my father used to treat his brothers!
Our Crown Commercial House is said to be a trading firm, but everyone knows exactly what it is actually. "
He strode to the door of the main hall, pointed to the plaque, and said solemnly, "This Loyalty Hall is where my father and you, Uncle, set up an incense table back then, and became sworn brothers of different surnames. At that time, both of you, while not born in the same year, swore an oath to die in the same year, on the same month, and on the same day!
Now that my father is dead, you made me kneel and kowtow to my father's murderer, wag my tail and beg for mercy! Are you still claiming that it's for my sake? I don't want you to do that for me!
I don't care if he is the leader of the battle corps. Why should I be afraid? No matter how powerful he is, he can't always have an entire battle corps of warriors by his side, right? The hatred for killing my father is irreconcilable, I can't wait any longer!
Whoever wants to avenge my father's death with me, step forward! It is not in vain that my father regarded everyone as brothers during his lifetime! "
Kerwin said the last sentence almost in a roar. He looked around at everyone present, his eyes were all red!
Everyone in the courtyard looked at each other in silence. A few of them who had a deep relationship with Albert could no longer restrain their desire for revenge and stepped forward!
After these few people stepped forward, more people were moved, and they took a wide step forward!
They were from the Crown Commercial House, and had always acted with impunity. All the while, they had been the only ones bullying others. When was it others' turn to bully them?
Previously, with Leif's suppression, these people had remained silent, but after Kerwin's generous words, these people could no longer hold back!
As Kerwin had said, so what if the opponent was the leader of the battle corps? No matter how powerful he was, he could not always have warriors by his side, right?
Moreover, being able to kill the leader of a battle corps to avenge Albert was not a small temptation for people like them who were accustomed to licking blood at the edge of their swords and bloodshed!
To a fearless person, no fence was too high.
Sometimes, it was more fulfilling to be able to tackle the more honorable and powerful person!
When Leif saw that Kerwin had incited more than ten to twenty people with just a few words, he instantly became furious. He pointed at everyone and shouted, "What do all of you want to do! Are my words useless now?"
"Chairman, if we don't avenge Vice Chairman Albert, he won't not die in peace!"
“Master Leif, we have been operating in Lymelathe City for so long, we're deservedly the local overlords, we've got guns, men, and means, so what's so hard about picking a time when there's no one around him to shoot him with a single shot?"
Everyone was a little in awe, but they began to express their wishes.
Leif Xue snapped, "No way! As I said, it's not that we won't avenge Albert, but before that, we must find out the opponent's strength before making plans! We can't implicate the entire business and all the brothers because of revenge!"
Kerwin came over with an angry look and sneered, "Uncle, I know you are just afraid of being implicated. Don't worry, I will avenge my father's murder and won't implicate you!"
"Asshole!" Leif said angrily, "Kerwin, seeing that your father is dead today, I won't hold you accountable for being disrespect! But if you disobey me again, don't blame me for locking you up, lest you invite trouble to the Commercial House!
"Lock me up?" Kerwin snapped, "Leif, someone has killed your sworn brother, and yet you are not looking for ways to take revenge. Instead, you are showing your authority in front of me? You are not worthy to be the Chairman of Crown Commercial House!"
The veins on Leif's brows throbbed. He had no more kind words and shouted, "Guards, put Kerwin in the dungeon. No one is to let him out without my permission!"
The people around looked at each other, and many spoke out to persuade him.
"Master Leif, Kerwin was worked up because of Master Albert's death, and that's why he clashed with you. Master Albert has just died, his body hasn't even been put into the ground yet, it's not appropriate to put Kerwin in the dungeon."
"Yes, Chairman Leif, please calm down, and we will try to persuade Mr. Kerwin to bear with it first."
All the brothers interceded for Kerwin. Even the beautiful, young woman named Causey, who was wearing an emerald-green cheongsam, walked out of the hall and into the venue. She frowned and said, "Leif, why are you so angry with the lad? If you really put Kerwin in the dungeon, who will put on the mourning clothes for Mr. Albert?"
"Aunt Causey!" Kerwin looked at the young woman in cheongsam, with a strange luster in his eyes.
Leif's face was stern and he was not moved at all. He said, "I have made up my mind, no one is to persuade me. Put Kerwin in the dungeon!"
As his voice fell, seeing that no one had yet to take action, Leif narrowed his eyes and looked coldly at the surrounding men.
"Well, it seems that my words are really useless."
Leif was the Chairman after all. Seeing his unkind eyes, those who were swept by his gaze, all shuddered.
Immediately, several people did not dare to hesitate further. They stepped forward immediately and said, "Mr. Kerwin, we apologise for having to offend you." Then, they supported Kerwin and walked in the direction of the dungeon.
"Leif, you are old, you are no longer able to lift a sword; you are unworthy to be the Chairman!"
Kerwin failed to struggle himself free. His eyes were bursting with rage as he shouted and cursed while being dragged away!
"Asshole! Infuriating!" Leif's face changed, but his anger could not dissipate. He looked around at everyone and ordered, "Albert Ma's death is to be kept secret. Before we find out about that battle corps and Humphrey Haus, all of you are to act as if nothing had happened. Do you understand me?"
Everyone agreed.
Someone asked, "Master Leif, what should we do with Sister Amy?"
Leif looked at Amy, and said coldly, "If it weren't for this woman, Albert would not have died. Since Albert is dead, there is no need for her to continue living. Let her accompany Albert in the Netherworld!"
"Yes!" That man's face turned cold. He looked at Amy, took out a sharp dagger from his clothing, and walked towards Amy.
When Amy saw him coming with a dagger in his hand, there was horror in her face. Unable to speak, she whimpered and groaned as she crawled backward on her knees.
The man quickly approached with the dagger in his hand, and said in a cold voice, "I'm sorry, Sister Amy! If you can accompany Mr. Albert on the journey, Mr. Albert will surely be very happy!"
Causey could not bear to look on. She turned her head away, swung around and walked toward the hall, swinging her snake-like waist.
"Ah!!" A hoarse and miserable female voice sounded suddenly in the courtyard!
Causey trembled all over and resisted looking behind.
Not long after, Amy's body was placed next to Albert.
The two corpses had died with their eyes opened. They had frightened expressions on their faces, and two pairs of heart-stopping dead eyes, staring straight at the late night sky.
The sky was covered with dark clouds, and the blue crescent moon appeared and disappeared under the cover of dark clouds.
