Douglas gave Terry's shoulder a reassuring pat, a gentle smile gracing his lips. "Hey, choose your friends wisely. One wrong move can lead to trouble, even endanger your life. Understand?"
Terry shivered, nodding hurriedly.
With a faint smile, Douglas turned and headed toward his car.
Terry shouted, "Please move out of the way quickly!"
After getting into the car, Douglas noticed that Lynette was sound asleep, undisturbed. A small grin formed on his lips as he started the car and drove home.
Meanwhile, Terry waited until Douglas's car was out of sight before straightening up. Then, glaring coldly at Keith, he cursed angrily.
"You nearly got me killed, you b*stard! Hey, everyone! Give him a good baeting!"
Several burly men wielding baseball bats rushed forward, surrounding Keith and unleashing a flurry of blows.
Keith's screams echoed in the dark night.
On the other hand, Peter and his wife were in a taxi, with their driver following behind.
Squeezed into the cramped taxi, Peter couldn't help but grumble, "Miracle Doctor Wellington is so strange! He's always so secretive."
"Don't complain. We'll be home soon. There must be a reason why Miracle Doctor Wellington asked us to take a taxi."
His wife reassured.
Peter scoffed, "What reason? Any car would get us home. We have our own car, yet he insists on a taxi. I don't understand his thinking."
Bam!
A loud noise interrupted Peter's words.
The couple instinctively turned to look behind them, only to be petrified.
The car behind them had been sent flying by a dump truck. Its body severely deformed with wheels upturned.
"Driver, stop quickly!" Peter shouted.
The taxi pulled over and murmured, "It's such a bad collision. I doubt anyone survived."
Trembling, the couple got out and staggered toward the wrecked car.
At the same time, Donald and Angelia's car also caught up. Seeing the scene, the siblings hurriedly got out and ran over.
The dump truck driver, a middle-aged man with dark skin, got out of his vehicle. His face filled with panic and his legs trembling as he muttered, "Oh no! Oh no!"
"Look what you've done!" Donald roared.
The dump truck driver stammered, "I... I just bent down to pick up a phone."
Angelia took out her phone, dialed for an ambulance, and reported the incident to the police.
At that moment, Peter's driver with his face covered in blood crawled out of the car window.
Donald rushed over to help.
Angelia also ran over, saying, "Donald, let's help him sit on the roadside first. The ambulance will be here soon."
Before long, ambulances and police arrived at the scene.
Thankfully, after a medical examination, Peter's driver only suffered minor cuts to his face. It was nothing serious.
After the police investigation, they told the Linola family, "The dump truck hit the rear of the car. Luckily no one was sitting in the back... Otherwise, the consequences would have been dire."
Peter and his wife were trembling with fear.
Angelia said, "Thank goodness! Dad and Mom, luckily you were in the taxi. If you were in that car..."
Angelia's words trailed off as she suddenly looked at Donald.
The family exchanged glances.
They all remembered one thing... The reason Peter and his wife weren't in the back of the car was because Douglas had insisted they take a taxi.
If it weren't for Douglas's insistence on them taking a taxi, they dared not imagine the consequences.
Angelia whispered, "Could it be that Miracle Doctor Wellington knew something would happen, so he asked Dad and Mom to take a taxi?"
Peter and his wife, as well as Donald, were incredulous.
Donald murmured, "Could Miracle Doctor Wellington have the power of foresight? Is he a deity?"
Peter trembled and said, "Even if Miracle Doctor Wellington isn't a deity, he's definitely no ordinary person."
"We owe our lives to Miracle Doctor Wellington this time. If it weren't for him, we would have died!"
Peter's wife said with a trembling tone.
Peter looked at Donald and said, "Give Miracle Doctor Wellington a call and tell him about this."
The four of them went to the roadside, and Donald called Douglas.
When his phone rang, Douglas had just returned home and put Lynette, who was soundly asleep, on the bed. He quickly picked it up and went outside, closing the door behind him to avoid waking Lynette.
Douglas's eyes flickered slightly before he answered when he saw it was from Donald.
"Miracle Doctor Wellington, have you arrived home?"
"Yes, just in time. Did you call me because there was an accident?"
The Linola family was stunned.
Could Douglas really be a deity, knowing what happened here even though he was at home?
Donald's voice trembled slightly, "Miracle Doctor Wellington, did you know in advance that my parents' car would have an accident?"
Douglas responded with a faint hum.
The Linola family trembled. They were shocked beyond measure.
At this moment, Douglas calmly said, "The driver probably just has some superficial injuries, nothing serious. Don't worry. It's late now. Go home and rest early."
After saying that, Douglas hung up.
But the Linola family stared at each other, utterlydumbfounded.
Douglas was at home, yet he seemed to know everything here. If he wasn't a deity, what else could he be?
After a while, Peter came back to his senses, "Prepare a generous gift. I want to personally thank Miracle Doctor Wellington tomorrow."
"Peter, let's go together. Miracle Doctor Wellington saved both of our lives this time."
Meanwhile, after Douglas hung up, he took a comfortable shower and then sat down to meditate.
He believed that now Peter would unquestionably trust him. If he appeared tomorrow, his plan to deal with Sammy could proceed.
...
...
The next day, at noon.
"Dad, why did you make so much delicious food today?"
Lynette stood on a chair, drooling over the table full of delicacies.
Douglas couldn't help but smile at her adorable appearance. "It's because Uncle Donald is coming to our house today."
"Lynette, you can eat first if you're hungry."
Lynette shook her little head. "I want to wait for Uncle Donald to come before eating."
At that moment, the doorbell rang.
"Dad, is Uncle Donald here?"
Douglas nodded slightly.
"I'll go open the door."
Lynette climbed down from the chair and ran over, opening the door with some effort.
Sure enough, it was Peter and his family outside.
"Hello, Grandpa and Grandma!"
"Hello, Uncle Donald! Hello, Angelia!"
Lynette greeted them all earnestly.
Angelia handed what she was holding to Donald and stooped down to pick up Lynette. Smiling, she said, "Lynette, you're so adorable! Your sweet little voice melts my heart."
Peter chuckled and asked, "Lynette, where's your dad?"
"Dad's in the kitchen. He made lots and lots of delicious food, just waiting for you."
Peter and his family exchanged glances. Their faces were filled with disbelief.
Angelia smiled and asked, "Does your dad know we're coming?"
"Yeah! Dad said you'd come, so he made lots and lots of delicious food!"
Peter and his family was shocked once again.
Douglas actually knew they would come. He was like a living seer!
