The Linola family came in and placed the gifts on the coffee table.
"Lynette, look at what I bought for you."
Donald took out a bunch of toys and children's clothes.
Last time when Douglas bought clothes for Lynette, he was present. Hence, he knew what size clothes Lynette wore.
"Thank you, Uncle Donald."
Lynette thanked happily.
"Lynette, this is from me."
Peter's wife took out a jewelry box containing a pair of gold bracelets. They were beautifully crafted with two small bells hanging on them. They were very beautiful.
While everyone was accompanying Lynette, Angelia went to the dining room and was amazed to find a table full of delicious dishes.
These dishes looked and smelled delicious.
With her hands behind her back, she walked into the kitchen and saw Douglas busy there. With a smile, she asked, "Miracle Doctor Wellington, do you need any help?"
Douglas turned his head and saw Angelia, giving a slight smile. "No need, you sit for a while. The last dish is almost ready."
Angelia didn't leave but approached Douglas, curiously sizing him up.
Douglas was slightly surprised, looking down and asking, "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"
Angelia smiled and shook her head, looking at Douglas. "Miracle Doctor Wellington, can I ask you something?"
"Of course."
"Are you a deity?"
Douglas was speechless.
"There are no deities in this world."
Angelia tilted her head and asked, "Then are you a monster?"
Douglas chuckled, shaking his head helplessly.
Angelia raised her chin playfully. "I find you quite strange."
Douglas smiled and asked, "How so?"
"You're strangely cute."
Douglas almost choked on his saliva. Looking at Angelia speechlessly, he felt like he was being teased.
Angelia smiled brightly and asked, "Can I call you Douglas in the future?"
"Of course, isn't a name meant to be addressed by people?"
Angelia sweetly smiled, turned around with her hands behind her back, and walked out.
Douglas shook his head. Angelia was a bit strange.
Quickly finishing the last dish, Douglas plated it and walked out of the kitchen, calling, "Mr. and Mrs. Linola, come and have dinner."
Peter and his wife smiled at each other. Douglas's casual invitation indicated that he didn't treat them as outsiders.
"Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Donald, and Angelia have given me so many things. Can I accept them?"
Lynette ran over, lifting her little face to ask Douglas.
"Do you like them, Lynette?"
"Yeah, I do!"
"Then, take them. Remember to thank Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Donald, and Angelia."
After Douglas finished speaking, he was a bit stunned. Donald and Angelia were siblings. Supposedly, Lynette should address Angelia politely too. The addresses for the same generation were all mixed up.
"Lynette has already thanked them just now. Dad, can I thank them again?"
Angelia bent down to pick her up, smiling. "Alright, no need to thank us again! Your dad made all these delicious dishes to entertain us. It's us who should express our gratitude."
Douglas smiled and invited, "Let's all sit down! It's just home-cooked food. I hope you will like it."
After everyone sat down, Peter looked at the table full of dishes, surprised. "I didn't expect you to be not only highly skilled in medicine but also so good at cooking, Miracle Doctor Wellington."
Douglas smiled and responded, "Come, everyone! Taste my cooking."
Peter picked up his cutleries and smiled. "All right!"
Saying that he served his wife first before he started eating.
Douglas's lips curled slightly. A man who cared for his wife, no matter how bad he was, couldn't be too bad, right? He believed Peter was a good person.
"Mmm, it's so delicious!"
Peter widened his eyes full of surprise. "It's even tastier than the dishes in a five-star hotel. Honey, you have to taste it."
Peter's wife took a bite and couldn't help but praise it.
"Miracle Doctor Wellington, you're truly versatile. Any woman who marries you in the future will be so lucky."
Donald and Angelia couldn't resist taking a bite.
"Wow, an explosion of flavors! This is too delicious!"
Douglas smiled and said, "It's not as exaggerated as you say. Just eat more if you like it."
"It's yummy! It's the first time I've ever had such delicious food."
Angelia looked at Douglas with her eyes shimmering.
"Dad's cooking is the most delicious…"
Douglas smiled and patted her little head before looking at Peter. "Without good ingredients, I can only make some home-cooked dishes. I'm glad everyone doesn't mind my cooking."
Donald hastily interjected, "Miracle Doctor Wellington, just tell me what ingredients you need, and I'll be happy to join you for a meal."
"The legs of the ancient species Nine-Headed Flame Bird, the head of the Golden Nine-Headed Lion, and the meat of the Super Python make the best soup."
The Linola family widened their eyes and was dumbfounded.
Douglas said it completely subconsciously, realizing that the Linola family looked bewildered. He awkwardly smiled and said, "I was just joking. Let's eat."
Donald came back to his senses and smiled, "I thought you didn't want me to join you for a meal."
"If you want to eat, you're welcome anytime. Since I have to cook for Lynette every day, having more people at the table is no big deal."
Angelia turned to Douglas and asked with a smile, "Can I join you for a meal too?"
"Of course!"
Angelia suddenly leaned closer to Douglas and whispered, "Why do I feel like you've eaten things like the head of the Golden Nine-Headed Lion?"
Douglas was slightly startled. "I was just joking. Those are all mythical things. How would I have eaten them?"
"I feel like you've stepped out of mythology. Although I don't know why I feel that way, I just believe it. Don't ask me why because I don't know either."
Douglas chuckled.
"I just happen to know a bit of medical knowledge. Miss Linola, you don't need to idolize me even though I've cured you."
Angelia tilted her head and asked, "What about last night? You predicted it in advance and saved my parents' lives. How do you explain that?"
Peter and his wife, as well as Donald, all looked at Douglas.
They came today for this matter.
Douglas remained calm and smiled lightly. "It's very simple. It can be explained in just one sentence. It's because I happen to know a bit of fortune-telling, and I foresaw that Peter and his wife would encounter a disaster."
Angelia wasn't satisfied with this explanation. Then, she smiled lightly and asked, "Is it really that simple?"
Douglas nodded and replied, "It's just that simple."
"Compared to that explanation, I believe more that you're a deity."
Douglas smiled helplessly.
Angelia curiously asked, "Douglas, can you help me check something? Can you see if I have any impending disasters or anything like that recently?"
Douglas was speechless.
He looked at Angelia. His gaze flickered slightly as he indeed saw something.
There was a pink aura at the corners of Angelia's eyes, extending to the tips of her brows. It was like peach flowers blooming.
Angelia blinked mischievously and asked, "How is it? Did you see anything?"
Douglas smiled and said, "Congratulations, Miss Linola!"
Angelia was slightly startled. "What brings about the joy?"
"Miss Linola, you have a face as charming as peach blossoms and a subtle aura of blossoming romance at your brow's center. It seems destined for a vibrant love life. It appears you'll soon encounter someone special."
