Angelia's lightly made-up pretty face flushed with a hint of crimson, looking charmingly shy.
Peter curiously asked, "Angelia, are you in love?"
Peter's wife replied, "Angelia, when looking for a boyfriend, family background isn't important. What matters is good character. When the time comes, bring him home so Mom can give her approval."
Donald, with a look of disbelief, looked at Angelia. "When did you start dating? How come I didn't know?"
Angelia blushed prettily, looking shy and adorable. She said helplessly, "What's all this about? When did I start dating?"
After finishing her words, she glanced at Douglas with a mix of shyness and anger. "You're totally off the mark! I haven't had a boyfriend at all. Are you volunteering to be one for me?"
Douglas chuckled, explaining, "Miss Linola, I meant will find a good partner soon, not that you already have a boyfriend."
Peter and his wife chuckled in realization. "Looks like we misunderstood!"
"I told you. If she had a boyfriend, how could I, as her brother, not know?"
Donald mumbled indistinctly as he stuffed food into his mouth.
Peter gave him a reproachful look. "Hindsight is 20/20."
"Haha!" Donald chuckled foolishly and continued eating with gusto. After all, Douglas's cooking was truly delicious.
Peter set down his cutleries, looking at Douglas earnestly. "Miracle Doctor Wellington, whether you're human or divine, you've saved both our lives. We won't forget your great kindness. If there's anything you need from me, just ask. I promise I won't refuse."
Peter's wife nodded in agreement.
Douglas sat up straight, looking at Peter. "Peter, I actually need your help with something."
"You name it. If it's within my power, I won't refuse."
Douglas spoke slowly, "Let me tell you a story first, Mr. Linola."
Douglas recounted his grievances with Sammy from beginning to end, omitting his experiences in the Martial Extreme Continent. It would be hard for them to believe such things.
After Douglas finished, sympathy and anger filled the faces of Peter and his family. They hadn't expected Douglas to have such a rough experience. This kind of drama was beyond what TV shows could portray.
"That scumbag! I knew he wasn't a good person from the start. Associating closely with Keith, that lackey, shows they're birds of a feather."
"Miracle Doctor Wellington, rest assured.I'll find an opportunity to punish him severely!"
Donald's face was filled with anger and indignation.
Douglas waved his hand. "I want to reclaim what I've lost."
Peter said, "Miracle Doctor Wellington, that's easy. I'll find a way to acquire the Pinnacle Group and then return it to you."
"No, I'm going to make sure Sammy pays for his actions and never finds peace."
Douglas's voice was chilling, sending shivers down the spines of Peter and his family.
Peter steadied his mind. "Miracle Doctor Wellington, tell me what you need from me."
"I know your position in the business world. I want all the companies in Jadeborough City to avoid any cooperation with the Pinnacle Group."
"That's easy. I still have some influence in the business world. Leave it to me."
"Thank you!"
"Miracle Doctor Wellington, don't hesitate to ask if you need anything in the future. I owe you a favor for saving my life."
Douglas chuckled and said, "Fair's fair. Consider this one a favor owed to you, Mr. Linola."
"Alright, just let me know if you need anything."
Douglas nodded slightly.
"How could I miss out on such an interesting matter? Miracle Doctor Wellington, how can I help?" Donald asked.
Douglas smiled. "Well, please investigate the recent investment projects of the Pinnacle Group for me."
"No problem, consider it done."
Angelia turned to look at Douglas and asked, "When you said you wanted to reclaim what's yours, does that include Blanche?"
Douglas was momentarily taken aback, indifferently saying, "There's no chance between her and me."
"Douglas, you're so cool!"
Angelia suddenly smiled brightly and praised.
Douglas was speechless.
Could Angelia be seriously ill?
After dinner, the group chatted for a while before Peter and his family bid farewell.
Before leaving, Douglas pulled Donald aside. "Do you know Terry?"
"That thug?"
Douglas wanted to laugh. Terry was at least the underground prince, but in Donald's words, he became a thug.
He nodded slightly and answered, "That's him."
"I know him, but we're not close."
"Can you contact him?"
He forgot to get Terry's contact information last night.
"Why do you need him, Miracle Doctor Wellington? Did he offend you? I'll make him come over and apologize to you."
Ordinary families might fear the Liamsole family, but for a colossus like the Linola family, they didn't even bother with these upstarts.
"It's not that. I need something from him. Contact him and tell him I want to meet him tonight."
"No problem, I'll take care of it."
…
…
In the afternoon, Douglas was playing with Lynette when Donald called.
"Miracle Doctor Wellington, I've contacted Terry. We'll meet at the Sugartree Bar at eight tonight."
"Alright, thank you!"
"We'll meet at Sugartree Bar tonight."
Douglas responded with an "okay" and ended the call.
But soon, he realized something. What about Lynette? He couldn't take her to a bar. It was such a shady place, after all.
Douglas felt a headache coming on. It seemed he could only wait for Lynette to fall asleep before sneaking out.
At around six o'clock, Douglas started cooking dinner.
Just as the meal was ready and he was about to enjoy it with Lynette, the doorbell rang.
Douglas was puzzled. Who could it be?
He walked over and opened the door, surprised to see Angelia outside. "Hey, Miss Linola!"
Douglas was taken aback to see it was Angelia.
With her hands behind her back, Angelia tilted her head mischievously as she looked at him.
Douglas asked in confusion, "Miss Linola, what brings you here?"
"I came to see you," she replied with a giggle.
Douglas was puzzled and remained silent.
Angelia chuckled and responded, "I'm here to help you."
Douglas looked bewildered.
"Aren't you supposed to go to the bar with my brother tonight to meet Terry? Just leave Lynette to me."
Douglas was surprised by Donald's openness.
It was a good idea. He had been worried about leaving Lynette alone at home, and Angelia was like a godsend.
"Are you sure about leaving Lynette with me?" she asked.
"Don't worry! I won't cause you any trouble,"
Angelia continued with a gentle smile. "I really like Lynette, and she likes me too."
"In that case, thank you for your help, Miss Linola. Please come in. I just finished cooking. Let's have some together."
Angelia walked in with a light smile. "It seems I've arrived just in time."
"Angelia!" Lynette ran over with her little legs, happily waving her hands in greeting.
Angelia bent down to pick her up. "Am I welcomed to join for dinner, Lynette?"
"Sure!" Lynette said in her sweet voice.
After dinner, when Douglas finished cleaning up, it was almost time.
"Lynette, you play with Angelia. I have to go out for a bit but will be back soon, okay?"
Lynette, being understanding, nodded obediently. "Daddy, come back soon."
