Chapter 24: Hidden Illness

Words : 1736 Updated : Nov 28th, 2024
Terry's face flushed instantly, as if someone had uncovered his deepest secret. He grimaced, his smile more awkward than tears. "Mr. Wellington, do I... do I have some sort of hidden illness?" Donald watched Terry with interest. "Kiddo, what's this hidden illness Douglas is talking about? Come on, spill the beans! Let's have a good laugh." Donald could be quite the rascal... It must be said. Terry felt a lump in his throat and was on the verge of tears. After all, he was the overlord of the underworld, but in Donald's eyes, he was reduced to just a kiddo. The worst part was, he couldn't even voice his anger. "I... I don't have any hidden illness. Mr. Wellington is just joking." "Bullshit!" Donald scoffed. "Why do you think I call Mr. Wellington Miracle Doctor Wellington? His medical skills are unparalleled. If he says you're sick, then you're definitely sick." Douglas gave him a mischievous look. "Let me tell you, if this illness of yours isn't treated, you'll spend the rest of your life unable to perform with women. No matter how many supplements you take, it won't make a difference." "Oh no, you're impotent!" Donald exclaimed as if he had stumbled upon a revelation. Terry was so embarrassed he nearly wanted to vanish into thin air. Quickly, he explained, "No, it's just occasionally... impotent." "Well, that's no good." Donald smirked. Terry was almost in tears from embarrassment. For a man, such matters were a huge blow to his pride. However, now that it was out in the open, he looked at Douglas hopefully and asked, "Mr. Wellington, can my condition really be cured? I've taken plenty of medication, but none of it has worked." "Of course it can be," Douglas assured him. "Just focus on what needs to be done, and once it's taken care of, I promise you'll regain your virility." Terry's eyes lit up. "Mr. Wellington, don't worry. Even if I have to turn the city upside down, I'll find Edward for you." Douglas nodded. "Remember, stay away from women for now. Otherwise, I won't be able to help you either." Terry nodded eagerly. Donald smirked on the side, looking at Terry with amusement. Terry was so embarrassed he felt like he could sink into the floor. Then, Douglas glanced at Donald. "Let's cut the teasing. You are the same. If you don't learn to control yourselves, you'll end up like him." Donald's smile froze instantly. Now it was Terry's turn to smirk. "Stop laughing, or I'll sew your mouth shut." Terry recoiled, tightly pressing his lips together. He was afraid to laugh again. Donald looked at Douglas with a flattering expression. "Miracle Doctor Wellington, you have to help me out here. You're a miracle worker, isn't there a way to make me perform well with women again?" Douglas rolled his eyes. "I'm a doctor, not a magician." "Uh..." Donald looked disappointed. "Then is there a way to regain my former vigor?" Douglas sneered. "Judging by your physique, that's never been your strong suit. What vigor are you talking about?" Donald looked embarrassed. "Miracle Doctor Wellington, please help me." Douglas chuckled. "I'll write you a prescription later. You gather the ingredients, and I'll treat you. At the very least, it'll restore some of your former vitality." Donald was excited. "Thank you, Miracle Doctor Wellington! I don't know how to repay you." Just give him money if Donald didn't know how to repay him... Was there anything more practical than that? Douglas couldn't help but scoff inwardly. Douglas stood up. "Alright, you two drink up. Take care of yourselves. I'm going back." "Isn't Lynette looking after your daughter at your house?" "I almost forgot until you mentioned it. Come with me to pick up your sister at home." "She said she's staying at your place tonight." Douglas went speechless. "Are you just going to leave her, a girl, alone at my house?" Donald laughed strangely. "What's there to worry about? I'm not worried that she'll suffer. I'm more worried that you, Miracle Doctor Wellington, will suffer." Douglas was baffled. "Miracle Doctor Wellington, don't let my sister's appearance deceive you. She has two sides." Douglas was puzzled. "What do you mean?" "From her appearance, does my sister look gentle and harmless, like a delicate blooming flower?" Douglas nodded slightly, puzzled. "Isn't she?" Donald smiled. "Then you don't know her other side. She's a genius with an IQ close to 200, graduated from Stanford Business School, and is proficient in all kinds of arts and sciences. Many major decisions of the Linola Group were proposed by her." "In addition, she's also proficient in Taekwondo and women's combat techniques. Once at a party, she broke three ribs of a drunkard who harassed her with just one kick." "To be honest, as her older brother, I've been living in her shadow for these years." Douglas was dumbfounded. He had to admit that this time he really misjudged her. Terry, however, remained unfazed by it all. What Taekwondo? What women's combat techniques? This guy right here could probably puncture a car door with just his finger. Douglas shook his head in amused disbelief. "Well, well, I didn't see that coming." He always thought Angelia was the delicate, sheltered type, like a rich girl who wouldn't dare dirty her hands. Little did he know, beneath her gentle exterior, she had such a fierce side. The thing was, Angelia's appearance was just too deceptive. But none of this mattered to him. Douglas shrugged. "You two drink up, I'm going back." "Mr. Wellington, let me see you off." "No need." Douglas waved his hand and left. "Mr. Linola, I'll drink to you." Terry raised his glass, trying to please him. Donald raised his glass and clinked it with Terry's, but didn't drink. He looked through the window at so many beautiful women. Why did he to drink with Terry, a grown man? That was too boring. "How about we invite some girls to accompany us?" Terry shook his head and said, "Didn't Mr. Wellington just say? He advised me to stay away from women for now." Donald replied with a face full of disdain, "I'm not like you. I'm just a bit weak, but you're completely impotent now. I can still handle women." Terry grinned on the outside, but internally, he scoffed. Taking a sip of his drink, Donald's expression turned bored. "Kiddo, how about we find some women to keep us company?" he suggested. Terry shook his head. "Just for company... I'm not asking you to do anything. It's boring for two grown men to drink together." Terry thought about it and suddenly became interested, trying to please him, "Then I'll arrange it. What kind of girls do you like?" Donald said, "Just one requirement... Someone with long wavy hair." Terry, who frequented bars, understood this instantly. This was clearly more than one requirement. "Wait a moment, Mr. Linola. I'll arrange it." Donald nodded with anticipation. Terry went to make arrangements eagerly. On the other side, Douglas returned home and found the living room light on, but no sign of Angelia and Lynette. He went to Lynette's room on the second floor and pushed the door open. Inside, he saw Angelia holding Lynette, who was already asleep. Angelia really didn't treat him as an outsider, actually wearing his pajamas without permission. Douglas approached, intending to tuck them in, but inadvertently noticed that Angelia's pajamas were too big. With the neckline too low, it revealed a scene that could make his blood vessels bulged.
