Master said that there are nine jade pieces.
Canyn currently has two of them.
However, Canyn has no clue whatsoever about the whereabouts of the remaining seven pieces.
Thus, for Canyn to search alone is a hundred times more difficult compared to finding a needle in the ocean.
Maybe, Canyn might luckily find one or two more, but it's more likely that he won't find any for the rest of his life.
Therefore, this method of searching alone must change. He must seek help from all possible sources of strength.
Even if it's just to increase some hope, it's much better than searching alone.
Owan and Vincie, working at the Secret Service, are not minor figures. With their recent promotion to the Heavenly level, their status in the Secret Service will be elevated. Even if it's just within the Secret Service's Red Group, at a certain level, their power and energy are immense.
So, having them help with the search is much better than Canyn doing it alone.
Canyn even has other plans, like using the power of the internet. Just a little clue from someone can provide a direction to pursue.
"These jade pieces, they look so familiar to me," Omarr suddenly said, seeing the two identical jade pieces in Canyn's hands.
"Brother, have you seen them before?" Canyn's heart stirred.
"They look familiar, I must have seen them. But where exactly, let me think," Omarr said, tapping his head, deep in thought.
"Don't worry, if you've seen them, you'll remember eventually. Take your time." Canyn was very anxious inside, but seeing Omarr's state, pressuring him might make it harder for Omarr to recall.
"I really can't remember right now. It must have been a very long time ago," Omarr said apologetically.
"No worries, take your time," Canyn comforted him.
"Uncle, are these jade pieces very important to you?" Owan asked.
"Very important," Canyn nodded.
The nine jade pieces are linked to a profound secret of cultivators, a mystery that explains why cultivators couldn't break through from the Foundation Establishment phase to the Golden Core for thousands of years. It's crucial for the interests of all cultivators.
"Then I'll mobilize some forces from the Red Group to help you search," Owan said resolutely.
"We have our own intelligence system. As soon as we find something, we will inform you immediately, Uncle. I'll take a photo first," Vincie said, taking out her phone to photograph the jade pieces.
Regrettably, when Canyn left Omarr's house, Omarr still couldn't recall where he had seen those jade pieces.
Canyn even reminded Omarr if he had seen them with Uyiosa, as he and Uyiosa are good friends, and Uyiosa always carries the jade pieces with him. The possibility of Omarr having seen them is quite high.
But Omarr denied it.
He couldn't remember specifically, but he was sure he hadn't seen them through Uyiosa.
This actually relieved Canyn.
If the clue pointed to Uyiosa, then it would have been a false hope.
"You finally decided to come back," Canyn heard a cold voice as he entered his house.
"Leaya, why haven't you slept yet, and why are the lights off? What are you planning?" Canyn was startled. The living room was dark, and there sat Leaya on the sofa.
Canyn turned on the light and saw Leaya with a frosty face.
"Leaya, who made you angry?" Canyn, seeing Leaya's displeasure, immediately became cautious.
He was also puzzled. When had he offended her again? Could it be about this morning's incident? But it wasn't his intention, she appeared in his line of sight dressed like that.
"Are you playing innocent with me now?" Leaya said angrily.
"About this morning, it really wasn't intentional," Canyn tried to defend himself, but then thought better of it. After all, she had seen him in that state, so it was better to just admit his mistake and avoid any further misunderstanding.
"Who's talking about that?" Leaya's face turned slightly red, but she remained angry.
"Ah?" Canyn was taken aback. If it wasn't about that, Canyn really couldn't think of anything else that might have offended her.
"Look at this, and then look at the time you came back. I almost fainted from hunger," Leaya pointed to a wall in the living room, her eyes reddening.
Canyn looked over, speechless.
The wall read, "Canyn is responsible for two meals a day."
Eight simple words, but did they need to be written so large? And why so assertively? Does it mean I should cook for you? I don't want to be a chef, not even for a beauty like you.
"Leaya," Canyn asked in a weak tone, "Have you really been waiting and not eating all this while?"
"What do you think?" Leaya also had her unspeakable difficulties. Just thinking about the breakfast she had, and how she couldn't eat her work lunch at noon, she had no appetite for dinner or anything else. The power of delicious food is just too tantalizing.
"You're being a bit too..."
"Too silly, right? Humph, let me tell you, I'm just respecting you. And why is your phone turned off?" Leaya got angry again. Canyn couldn't be reached by phone. If she could, she would have contacted him earlier.
"About that, something came up, I didn't want to be disturbed, so I turned off my phone," Canyn scratched his head. After talking to Hiroko on the phone, Canyn turned off his phone to avoid disturbances during his cultivation, never expecting Leaya to call.
"Alright, alright, that's in the past. Now, go straight to the kitchen, I'm almost fainting from hunger," Leaya felt she was really going crazy. To crave that taste, she tortured herself into such a state.
"Sister Leaya, on this issue, I think we need to have a serious talk," Canyn casually sat on the sofa, showing no intention of going to the kitchen.
"Talk about what?" Leaya had a bad feeling.
"First, I can cook, morning and evening meals are fine. But you must prepare the ingredients," Canyn said with a smile. Leaya was so eager, Canyn couldn't miss the opportunity to take advantage and gain some benefits for himself.
"That's not a problem," Leaya slightly frowned, gritting her teeth.
The ingredients were already prepared by her, she never thought of making Canyn cook and also shop for groceries. But, it was one thing for her to think so, and another to be coerced into agreeing by Canyn.
"Second, about the dishes after meals," Canyn continued at a leisurely pace.
"I'll take care of them," Leaya bit her teeth.
"And, the household cleaning, my rent, internet fees," seeing Leaya agree so readily, Canyn continued his bargain.
"Canyn, don't go too far," Leaya glared, speaking fiercely.
"Then there's no helping it, Sister Leaya, good night," Canyn shrugged his shoulders, pretending to return to his room. Now, he must stand firm, victory lies in perseverance.
Leaya felt that her eagerness was a tactical error. Otherwise, why would she be manipulated by this brat?
"Wait," Leaya stopped Canyn: "Regarding the cleaning part, whoever has time does them. The internet fees are waived. But you must pay for the rent. If you push further, I'll castrate you."
Canyn suddenly felt a chill in his groin. This woman was too fierce.
"Deal, Leaya, please order," Canyn quickly took the opportunity to agree.
"Just make something quick," Leaya let out a sigh of relief, then curled up on the sofa, holding her stomach.
She hardly ate at noon, and dinner was delayed to this time. It was past ten o'clock. Leaya felt she was so hungry she could hardly muster any strength.
Seeing Leaya truly starving, Canyn didn't hesitate. After all, such a beauty craving his cooking to the point of starving herself, he felt a small sense of achievement.
He was also a bit grateful to his master.
If it weren't for his master forcing him to cook from a young age, and with such a picky palate, how could he have such high culinary skills?
However, seeing the kitchen full of ingredients, the fridge packed to the brim, Canyn was speechless.
It turned out Leaya had prepared this way all along, and he even made such a request. No wonder she agreed so readily.
For the sake of speed, Canyn made Leaya a bowl of shredded pork noodles.
Watching Leaya eat heartily without any image, Canyn had a faint smile on his face.
"Don't look at me, go watch TV. I can't eat if you're looking at me like this," Leaya felt a bit awkward, being stared at by Canyn made her slightly uncomfortable.
"Tastes good, right?" Canyn had no intention of leaving.
Leaya glared at Canyn, then continued eating. Just let him look then, the noodles were really delicious though.
Leaya never thought a simple bowl of noodles could taste this good.
"This time it's ready-made noodles, not so chewy. Someday, I'll make you handmade noodles, that's really delicious," Canyn said with a smile.
Leaya didn't respond, focusing on eating her noodles. In a short while, she had finished the entire large bowl of noodles.
The moment she put down the bowl, Leaya felt completely relaxed, almost like she was about to ascend to immortality.
"Do you always get up so early?" Leaya asked weakly: "Can you start making breakfast at eight o'clock?"
"I have to work, need to go early. If you can't get up, then let's not make breakfast. I promise, unless there's something major, I'll come back to cook dinner," Canyn felt he was sinking. Why was it that seeing a beautiful woman he liked, he was somewhat willing to be a chef? Being a chef really wasn't his dream.
"No, wake me up when you start making breakfast," Leaya bit her teeth. Sleep was important, but obviously, food was more so.
"Alright," Canyn said with a smile: "It's getting late, let's rest soon, or you won't get up tomorrow."
"Humph, I'm going to call Corda," Leaya snorted, contentedly walking to her room.
Canyn was stunned. It seemed he hadn't called Corda yet. Should he make a call?
