The cloud ship began to shake violently.
Those on the deck were thrown into panic, grasping at anything within reach.
The roaring noise soon ceased.
The cloud ship then returned to normal, much to the relief of everyone on board.
“What was that roar? So terrifying. With such powerful sound waves, had it not been for the cloud ship's defensive array, we might have been shaken to death,” someone exclaimed in fear.
“It must have been the sound of a Kun Monster Beast.”
An elder in yellow robes spoke, “To reach Xanth City, the cloud ship must pass through the Sea of Innocence, encountering Monster Beasts along the way. But fear not, the ship’s defenses protect us from their attacks.”
Upon hearing these words, everyone's hearts gradually eased.
Monster Beasts are among the strongest creatures in this world, and no one knows when they first appeared. As far as human history goes, Monster Beasts have existed since time immemorial.
Titus had read some ancient texts, which recorded that in the ancient past, Monster Beasts ruled until the appearance of humans, after which they retreated to uninhabited lands.
Many Monster Beasts still exist in the world, mostly living in uninhabited areas. Only a small number of Monster Beasts, and wild beasts assimilated by Monster Beasts, live near human settlements.
These demonized wild beasts are not true Monster Beasts, but are transformed by the power of Monster Beasts.
True Monster Beasts are extremely powerful, and even the weakest among them can only be contended with by martial arts masters.
A beautiful girl in a turquoise gauze dress walked quickly towards the deck with her head down, followed by a young man dressed finely, with a sharp chin.
"Raelyn, why are you walking so fast? Wait for me. Look at you, always gloomy along the way. Is it because you're uncomfortable on the cloud boat? That's normal, just endure a little longer. In five days, we'll reach Xanth City, and then you can come home with me," the young man with the sharp chin hurriedly said.
"That's your home, not mine. And I never said I'd go home with you," the beautiful girl said unhappily.
"It's only a matter of time. Rest assured, once I get home, I will definitely ask my father to propose to your family. My Xu family is quite reputable in Xanth City. I'll make sure you join the Xu family in glory," the young man said with a smile.
"Don't be too presumptuous. I never said I would marry you," the beautiful girl retorted.
Raelyn?
Titus instinctively turned his head.
Raelyn was walking towards them, trying to escape the young man’s persistence. Instead of leaving, he continued to follow her.
Raelyn's eyes showed fear. She quickened her pace.
Suddenly, aware of someone ahead, she tried to dodge but was stopped by a hand.
Raelyn, about to retaliate, heard a familiar voice, “Junior Raelyn, it's me.”
She froze, looked up, and upon seeing Titus, tears uncontrollably flowed. Without hesitation, she threw herself into his arms.
“How are you here?” Titus gently patted her shoulder and asked.
“I...”
Before Raelyn could speak, the young man following her shouted angrily, “I've been with you for half a month, and you didn’t even let me touch your hand. Now, you throw yourself into the arms of some stranger? Do you think I'm so easily bullied?”
“Do you know him?” Titus asked with a frown.
“I don't know him at all, he’s been harassing me,” Raelyn replied, wiping her tears.
“Slut, if you don’t explain yourself today, this won’t end well,” the young man continued to rage.
Slap!
Titus’s hand struck, knocking the young man to the ground, his left cheek swelling instantly, teeth mixed with blood spilling out.
“How dare you hit me... do you know who I am? I'm from the Xu family of Xanth City. You dare strike me? Just wait,” the young man got up, staring venomously at Titus and Raelyn.
He suddenly threw something from his sleeve, releasing a flurry of poison needles.
Bang!
Titus pulled Raelyn behind him, and his Horse Beheading Blade slashed out, shattering the incoming needles with its force.
The young man’s face changed, not expecting his usually effective surprise attack to fail.
“You're courting death!”
Titus’s eyes filled with killing intent. He stepped forward, the Horse Beheading Blade erupting with energy, and struck down fiercely.
Bang!
The deck shook violently as the young man was sent flying, landing hard and motionless.
“Xenos...” Raelyn looked on worriedly.
“It's over now,” Titus reassured her.
Raelyn nodded, understanding that the young man's death was his own doing.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps approached from the other end of the deck. A handsome young man arrived, and upon seeing the body, his cold gaze fixed on Titus and Raelyn.
“Did you kill him?” the young man asked icily.
“I did,” Titus replied.
“Killing a member of Raging Wave Valley on this cloud ship, who gave you the courage?” Lucas Carter, the young man, asked sternly.
On the deck, the crowd looked at Titus with complex expressions. Some eyes showed sympathy; of all people to provoke, he had to provoke someone from the Raging Wave Valley.
Raging Wave Valley.
One of the five major sects in the eastern region of Lindblum State, ranking second only to the Northern Mysterious Sect.
Raging Wave Valley was infamous among the five sects for their extremely aggressive and vindictive nature. Once provoked, it was difficult to escape their wrath.
“You’re unreasonable. It was he who harassed me first. Seeing that I was unwilling to deal with him, he became malicious and shot poisonous needles at us. Xenos acted in defense. Ultimately, it was his own fault,” Raelyn said through gritted teeth.
“Reason? We don’t need reason. No matter what he did, the fact is you killed one of ours,” Lucas glanced at Raelyn, his eyes lighting up.
He hadn't noticed before, but now realized that he had encountered a beauty.
Raelyn's beauty would be considered top-notch even in Raging Wave Valley, and she was the type that grew more attractive the more one looked at her.
“So you mean to say, he can kill us, but we can’t defend ourselves and kill him?” Titus looked towards Lucas.
“Exactly. He can kill you, but you can’t kill him,” Lucas declared.
“You...” Raelyn was so angry her face turned pale, her body trembling. She had seen unreasonable people, but never someone this unreasonable.
“I’m tired of talking. Seize them. Break the man’s limbs and ruin his cultivation, then hang him in front of the Cloud Boat to feed the Monster Beasts. As for the woman, bring her to me, I will deal with her personally,” Lucas arrogantly ordered regarding Titus and Raelyn.
Three Inner Sect disciples of Raging Wave Valley charged at Titus, aiming for his vital points.
Swoosh!
The heavy Horse Beheading Blade slashed out at an incredible speed, its immense force propelling an even stronger Blade Gale, sending the three Inner Sect disciples of Raging Wave Valley flying.
Blade Gale...
He was a blade cultivator!
The onlookers were shocked.
