Chapter 38: Unrepentant Blade King
Words : 2038

Titus never skipped his daily sword practice. After swinging his sword continuously for six full hours, he casually tossed the fractured blade onto the ground.
Looking at the cracked hundred-refined steel sword on the ground, Titus realized he needed a stronger blade for his practice, as ordinary swords couldn't withstand the unintentional sword intent he emitted.
At that moment, a stunning figure was ejected from the Virtual Realm Heavenly Clock.
Anya's face was extremely pale, having been ejected seven times already.
"Forget it, let's go back to the North School," Titus suggested as he approached.
"No! If not today, then tomorrow; if not tomorrow, then the day after..." Anya firmly declared.
Titus helplessly shook his head, realizing further persuasion was futile. Anya's stubbornness was extreme; she wouldn’t give up until the very end.
Titus approached School Master William and greeted him with a bow.
"Are you leaving?" School Master William slowly opened his eyes.
"Staying here is just a waste of time. A month is neither long nor short. To survive after a month, I need to find a way to enhance myself," Titus said.
"Our South School has been in decline for many years, with only this place to settle. Currently, we lack cultivation resources; you must rely on yourself," School Master William stated.
"I understand, I just wanted to ask..." Titus nodded in agreement.
"You want me to look after that girl, right?" School Master William glanced at Titus.
"Yes, she's too stubborn, and I can't persuade her. I also worry about her entering the Virtual Realm Heavenly Clock alone. That's why I'd like to ask you, School Master, to watch over her," Titus explained.
"Go. I'll keep an eye on her," School Master William nodded slightly.
Reassured by his words, Titus felt relieved. With School Master William watching over Anya, nothing untoward would happen.
"Remember, our South School's dispute with the North School is confined to within the South Figaro Martial Hall for a month. Inside the hall, as long as you don’t provoke trouble, no one dares to bother you. But outside, it's beyond the agreement," School Master William advised.
"I understand," Titus nodded in acknowledgment.
"Go then," School Master William waved his hand.
After bowing, Titus turned and left the Path of Life and Death.
Anya watched him leave from a distance, her eyes filled with a strange determination. She knew why Titus had to leave: he needed to become stronger for the life-and-death battle in a month.
"You came to our South School to help him, didn't you?" School Master William turned to Anya.
"I didn't say I wanted to help him; I just want to become stronger myself," Anya averted her gaze, unwilling to make eye contact with School Master William.
"You're not blood siblings, are you?" School Master William suddenly asked.
Anya was visibly shocked, looking at School Master William in disbelief. Only a few knew about this; her father, Jasper, and her sister, Elsie, were aware, and she had accidentally learned of it.
Titus’s father and her father Jasper were not blood brothers but sworn brothers with the same surname. This was unknown to Titus.
Anya knew because she overheard a conversation between her father, Jasper, and her sister, Elsie, during an unexpected incident.
"His blood is different from yours. Your blood energies are entirely dissimilar, indicating no blood relation. Plus, if you were real siblings, there wouldn’t be such distance between you,"
School Master William continued, "It seems you know about it, but he doesn’t, hence your reaction."
Upon hearing these words, Anya was even more shocked, staring blankly at School Master William.
Her father, Jasper, once mentioned that some powerful martial artists could discern Martial Cultivation through blood energy. Such martial artists were powerful enough to annihilate a country single-handedly.
Anya had only heard of such individuals but never expected School Master William to be one.
"Don’t worry, I won't tell Titus, and there's no need. Your talent is not bad, joining our South School should be fine. The reason you couldn't ring the Heavenly Clock is not due to lack of ability, but because you’ve faced too few life-and-death battles, yet to reach that level,"
School Master William said, waving his hand. "Enter the Virtual Realm Heavenly Clock, and treat those Martial Cultivations as your most hated enemies. If you don’t kill them, they will kill you, and your family."
Family...
Anya trembled slightly. School Master William's words seemed to cast a spell on her, plunging her into a unique state.
It's as if Anya saw the gruesome death of her family.
No!
Suddenly, she snapped out of it, realizing she was drenched in cold sweat. Looking at the distant Virtual Realm Heavenly Clock, her eyes filled with intense murderous intent, she stepped in resolutely.
"Nothing else can fully unleash Titus's power, only family can. This girl and Titus grew up together; she might be able to awaken his potential," School Master William mused.
"If I can stimulate Titus's full potential, perhaps I can witness the process of the first generation ancestor breaking through the limits. After all, those who rang the Heavenly Clock ten times in the South Figaro Martial Hall over a thousand years include only two people: the first-generation ancestor who founded the hall and broke through the limits, and Titus. Only when he unleashes his full potential might resonance occur..." he murmured to himself.
...
After leaving the South Figaro Martial Hall, Titus arrived at the inn where he stayed and knocked on Raelyn’s door.
Click!
The door opened.
What appeared in Titus's eyes was a young man dressed in a blue martial robe.
"Who are you?"
Titus's pupils contracted as he lunged at the young man's neck.
“Xenos... wait..." The young man in the blue robe tried to speak, but upon seeing Titus's sudden move, he quickly released his Qi to defend.
Bang!
The peak Element Integration Stage Qi collided with Titus.
As sword intent emerged, the Qi was dispersed, and Titus's hand vanished, turning into a beam of light with astonishing speed.
Crack!
The young man in the blue robe was already gripped by Titus's hand around his neck.
"Where is Raelyn?" Titus coldly stared at the young man.
"Xenos... Xenos, can you put me down to talk..." The young man in the blue robe struggled to speak: "I mean no harm. Please let me explain before you act."
Titus casually let go, throwing the young man aside.
Coughing...
The young man in the blue robe coughed violently, clutching his neck as Titus stood by, watching silently.
“Xenos, you misunderstood..." the young man said after catching his breath.
"Where is Raelyn?" Titus asked sternly.
"She was hungry, so I had someone accompany her downstairs to eat,"
The young man quickly explained. “Xenos, I mean no harm. I just wanted to meet you. It wasn't convenient in the South Figaro Martial Hall, so I waited here."
"You are a top disciple of the Ink Sea Tower, and we didn't know each other before. Why are you looking for me?" Titus asked bluntly, recognizing the young man's identity. He would have crushed his neck already if he hadn't recognized him as Russell, a top disciple of the Ink Sea Tower, and felt no killing intent.
Russell was no stranger – he was indeed a top disciple of the Ink Sea Tower. Titus had seen him rushing in the tavern when he first arrived, which is why he recognized him.
"We didn’t know each other before, but now we do, right? Xenos, let's be frank. I'm here to propose a cooperation," Russell said.
"Cooperation?" Titus frowned.
"Yes, the opening of the Broken Blade Cave Mansion of the 'Sword King without Regret'. I would like to invite Xenos to join me," Russell revealed.
