Mu Chen wore gold-rimmed glasses and was well-mannered. His eyes were firm and he looked at Jacky expressionlessly.
All I know was that Mu Chen and Jacky were enemies. I didn't know why the two became enemies. But I knew that as to Jacky's temper, He would only get more annoyed when Mu Chen intervened in this matter.
Sure enough, Jacky's face was even colder as he glanced at me and then at Mu Chen.
"It's none of your business. You have no right to interfere in matters between me and my woman." Jacky said coldly.
When Jacky said that I was his woman, I didn't know whether I should be happy or sad. He really wants me to be his woman, but why did he always defend that bad woman?
"She's your woman, what about this one?" Mu Chen pointed at Nan Lin .
His tone was still gentle without hostility.
"It’s my personal thing. Don’t bother you."Jacky said.
"She's my friend and I'm not going to watch her get picked on and stand by. I supported her regardless of who was bullying her." Chen Mu still said expressionlessly.
Jacky's charming eyes narrowed and his look became more serious.
He suddenly put his right hand on my waist and wrapped his arms around me with a force. His left hand took my hand with a tug, and my whole body fell into his arms involuntarily. He suddenly lowered his head and kissed me hard on the mouth. I was caught off guard and looked at him with wide eyes. I couldn't read the intricacies in his eyes.
This kiss was certainly not a show of love for others. Between him and me, where's the love? He was merely declaring his sovereignty over me in front of Mu Chen. Mu Chen said that I was his friend, so Jacky was going to tell Mu Chen that I was his private property and he could do whatever he wanted to me.
He changed too fast, out of everyone's expectation, including myself. My mouth was gagged by him, my breath was hard to breathe, and I even had some chest tightness. But at some point, my heart still stirred.
I took a glance at Nan Lin, who had already changed her previous pathetic look. She looked at me and there was true hatred in her eyes.
Jacky finally let go of me, then suddenly his hand gave me a hard shove and I was pushed onto the coffee table.
"No one can touch what I throw away," Jacky said arrogantly. He took my hand again and headed out the door.
"You let go of me.” I struggled.
But Jacky clutched my hand firmly and there was no intention to loosen it. He pressed so hard that my wrist hurt.
I looked back and saw Nan Lin followed. It seemed that there was anger boiling up inside her as she followed behind unwillingly. I admired her persistence. If it were me, seeing a man I liked pulling another woman along, even if I was short of a man, I wouldn't go after the man to keep my self-esteem.
"Nan, let's go." In fact, it was only at this time that Jacky noticed Nan Lin who was following behind him.
Nan Lin, of course, immediately ran towards Jacky. I saw they two walking towards the car, getting into the car and driving away. I felt disheartened.
Originally, I wanted to find Jacky to tell him the truth about the arson and let him help Duo. But looking at the situation now, it's simply not possible. I didn't know how to explain it to Duo. I walked aimlessly down the street, and I had no idea where I was going.
At this point a jeep pulled up and the man in it rolled down his window. It was Mu Chen. He smiled gently at me, "Miss Yao, may I give you a ride?"
I smiled gratefully at him and waved my hand, gesturing for him to go first.
But Mu Chen didn't go, and not only did he not go, but he stopped the car and got out.
"Miss Yao, do you have time, I want to talk to you." He was as gentle as ever, his tone so calm that one couldn't refuse him.
"Sorry, I'd like to be alone for a moment. Maybe we can have a talk next time," I refused as politely as I could.
"No time for a cup of coffee?" Mu Chen still didn’t giving up.
I was a little embarrassed because this person had saved me. It was he who saved me at the Martyrs' Cemetery last time. Now he wanted to talk to me for a while, if I kept refusing, I may be a little unkind.
"Please trust me. I just want to talk to Miss Yao. You can chose the place you feel safe. If you is still not at ease, we can just stand here and talk." Mu Chen said sincerely.
"I believe you. I haven't been able to thank you for saving me last time. Let's find a place to talk." I said.
"Thank you for being willing to do that," Mu Chen opened the car door and let me in.
Mu Chen drove very quietly, classical music playing in the car. He looked at me, turned down the music volume, and then turned it off again.
"Miss Yao, you are in a bad mood?" What he meant was that he turned off the music because I was in a bad mood.
I shook my head and smiled bitterly. He was, after all, a stranger to me. Though I was upset, I couldn’t tell him more about me.
And the most important was that he was an enemy of Jacky. I didn't know what kind of grudge there is between the two of them, but I know that it was definitely not easy to be Jacky's enemy. Although he looked polite and refined, he gave me a sense of something enigmatic about him.
What if he was really a bad guy? I had to thought so.
"You and Ying Hua are good friends?" Suddenly he sprang to mind.
Hearing his words, I was even more suspicious. Ying Hua was Jacky's sister, and he was Jacky's enemy, so I was wondering if he would be trying to make a move to harm Jacky’s family.
Seeing that I was silent, he twisted his head to look at me. Then he nodded and murmured, "Sorry, I offended you.”
I still didn't speak.
"I just wanted to know whether she is fine now. Does her head still hurt when it rains?" He continued to ask me.
Did Ying Hua's head hurt when it rained? I didn't even know that. He knew Ying Hua so well. Did he and Ying Hua have a story? So he wanted to talk to me, not about my thing, but about Ying Hua’s?
"Actually, Miss Hua and I don't know each other very well either. We haven’t seen each other a few times." I said.
"Last year a new research institute in the U.S. came up with a medicine for headaches that works well and only requires one pill a week. I take it myself for half a year and was sure there were no side effects. Could you help me to give her this medicine?" Mu Chen said.
“It seems that they two are really familiar with each other.” I thought.
"Mr. Chen also has a headache?" asked I.
"No, I just want to make sure there are no side effects from that medicine before giving it to her." said Mu Chen.
So he tried the medicine himself for half a year for Ying Hua? What exactly was the relationship between these two? Why didn't he give the medicine to Ying Hua himself? Or was he trying to use me to harm Jacky's family?
