"Do you have a car?"
"Do you have a house?"
"Do you have a company?"
Maille stood at the bottom of the residential building, hands on hips blocking Atius's path, and scoffed, "I could give these things to Eilir, but Eilir’s husband must be a capable man."
Just as Atius was about to speak, he was interrupted by Maille, "Don't talk about how much you love Eilir, and don't bring up Nidawi."
"The love you speak of will be defeated by life one day!" Maille said with an experienced tone, "Eilir has said many good things about you, but she's too young, too naive. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
Atius frowned slightly, "Mom, how can I..."
"Don't call me mom!"
"Auntie, I can..."
"Don't call me auntie!"
"Maille!" Atius said with a stern look, "Actually, I've been preparing for the wedding with Eilir. I will make Eilir the happiest woman in the world!"
"Marriage?"
Maille let out a 'heh' and said, "After getting married, where will you live? Still at that Mr. Jernigan's place?"
Atius shook his head, "The villa is already planned for construction."
"A villa," Maille said with disbelief, "Royal Brocade Residence is the best villa area in the province. If you can buy a house there, I will agree to let Eilir marry you!"
"But if Eilir is unwilling, even a hundred houses won't do!"
Atius didn't say anything more, turned and walked to the roadside, and hailed a taxi to get in.
Maille shook her head, glanced at the silver BMW parked in the spot next to her, and shouted upstairs, "Eilir, when will you return the car to Mr. Jernigan?"
Eilir, who had just been taking a shower, was unaware of the conversation between Maille and Atius. Hearing the shout, she hurried down from upstairs with a smile and said, "Mom, I plan to go back to see Calandra in a while. I'll return the car then."
Maille's eyes lit up, "Then you drive the car and take me to the market to buy some groceries."
"You don't know, but Freda Lewis, who I play cards with, drives a little Audi to the market every day. Whenever she sees me, she shows off that it's bought by her son!"
Eilir smiled helplessly and nodded, opening the car door to let Maille in.
"This seat is really comfortable," Maille said with a face full of enjoyment.
Eilir started the car and hesitated for two seconds before asking, "Mom, don't you have ten percent of the Lee family's shares? Why have you been living so hard these years?"
Maille waved her hand indifferently, "I sold the shares bit by bit more than a decade ago. To find you, that money has long been spent."
Eilir's eyes reddened, and she was about to cry.
Maille also choked up, "It's all worth it! As long as you can come back, what are shares and money to me? Even my life is worth it!"
Royal Brocade Residence.
When Atius arrived, it was already noon, and there were only a few staff members eating in the sales office.
Seeing Atius enter, a few girls glanced up, then looked away.
After all, what's left in Royal Brocade Residence now are large villas with high prices. Often ten people come to look, and not one buys.
Atius looked at the model and frowned, "I'm buying a house."
One of the women in her thirties, holding a lunch box, came over. She glanced at Atius's white shirt and casual jeans and immediately lost interest. As she continued to eat, she shook her head, "Sold out, you might want to look somewhere else."
Atius's frown deepened, "Are you sure it's sold out?"
The woman showed a flicker of impatience, "I told you it's sold out, why keep asking?"
Atius remained silent and took out his phone to call Kaladin.
Kaladin's look turned cold as he glanced at Olatunde beside him, "The sales office said all the houses are sold out."
Olatunde immediately broke into a cold sweat, hurriedly took out his phone to call his secretary, and then got the phone number for the boss of Royal Brocade Residence.
Indeed, Royal Brocade Residence is one of the best villa areas in the province, but the company that built it is now on a downward path, having become a second-tier construction company, holding only the Royal Brocade Residence project. If they can't sell the houses quickly, they'll be waiting for bankruptcy.
The boss of Royal Brocade Residence, named Gabriel Summer, received Olatunde's call, and his first reaction was fear. After all, Olatunde is a tough guy, and it would be easy for him to deal with Gabriel.
Gabriel asked cautiously, "Mr. Jepson, what can I do for you?"
Olatunde roared angrily, "Gabriel, I'm asking you, are the houses in Royal Brocade Residence sold out?"
Gabriel was stunned, "No, there are still dozens of them."
Olatunde became even angrier, "I'm telling you, my boss's boss is now at Royal Brocade Residence to buy a house! But the sales office says they're sold out!"
"Gabriel, let me tell you, if you want to meet the King of Hell sooner, I can make it happen right now!"
Olatunde's boss's boss?!
Gabriel immediately felt a chill run up his spine, and as he spoke, he kicked open the door, dressing as he shouted to the driver, "Hurry to Royal Brocade Residence, as fast as you can!"
Ten minutes later.
Gabriel rushed to Royal Brocade Residence and immediately saw Atius standing at the entrance of the sales office smoking.
"Sir, may I ask if you are here to buy a house?"
Atius glanced at Gabriel and nodded, "But she said the houses are sold out," pointing to the woman playing with her phone.
Gabriel was furious. After inviting Atius in, he yelled at the woman, "You're fired, get out now, immediately, this instant!"
Seeing Gabriel had arrived, the woman turned pale, "Boss, I..."
"Shut up! Less talk, get lost!" Gabriel was shaking with anger, "One second late and I'll have someone break your legs!"
Knowing her boss was not a good man, the woman ran out immediately, not daring to let out a peep.
The other salesgirls also looked pale and stood by timidly.
Gabriel bent over to Atius respectfully, "I apologize for the ignorance of my staff."
Atius gestured, looking at the largest villa in the middle of the model, "Is this one sold?"
Gabriel shook his head, "That's the king of the building, it's never been sold, but the quality is absolutely top-notch, with all the furniture and appliances complete, ready to move in!"
Atius frowned and glanced at the other houses next to him, "What about these?"
"They haven't been sold either," Gabriel said truthfully, "To be honest, these villas were built with the best materials, and the furniture and appliances are also top brands. The cost is high, so the price is naturally high."
Atius hmm’ed, took out a card from his pocket and handed it to Gabriel, "Proceed with the transaction."
Gabriel quickly refused, biting his lip, "Sir, I'm sorry for the inconvenience today. Whichever house you like, I'll give it to you for free!"
Joking, Olatunde is several levels above him, Gabriel, and no matter what, he can't afford to offend the man in front of him, who is Olatunde's boss's boss.
But Atius shook his head, "Pay whatever it's worth."
Gabriel dared not argue and quickly yelled at a young lady, "Are you blind?! Hurry up and process for the gentleman!"
The young lady nodded quickly and respectfully came over to take the bank card.
"Wait, don't get it wrong," Atius pointed to the other dozen villas, "The largest one, and the surrounding dozen or so, all together."
"Ah? This... this..." Gabriel was also stunned, "Sir, what are you buying them for?"
"For my mother-in-law to live in."
"One is enough, right?"
Atius shook his head, "Sometimes my wife will also stay for a few days; she likes peace and quiet. That's all, hurry up with the transaction."
Gabriel nodded, "Don't worry, I'll personally bring people over to clean all these houses again, making sure there's not a speck of dust."
"Also, do you know when your mother-in-law will move in? So I can arrange a welcome."
Atius frowned and thought for a moment, "Not sure yet, we'll talk about it later."
Soon, the transaction was completed, and Atius took his bank card and left directly.
Watching Atius's back, Gabriel's eyes gleamed, and he turned to the other salesgirls, "Go buy me a folding bed, I'm staying here from now on. When Mr. Seymour's mother-in-law moves in, that's when I'll leave!"
So after Atius left Royal Brocade Residence, where did he go?
He took a taxi to Auto City, looked around at the various brand dealerships, and his gaze suddenly settled on the Ferrari dealership.
The current owner of Ferrari is named Zikomo, and he has some history with Atius.
Remembering Zikomo, Atius couldn't help but smile; that guy once went on an adventure to the black African savannah and was captured by a cannibal tribe of tens of thousands. If Atius hadn't led people to wipe out that tribe, Zikomo would have long been a pile of bones by now.
Entering the dealership, a young lady in her twenties immediately greeted him.
This girl's face still had a hint of innocence, obviously a recent graduate, with a natural face and a sincere, radiant smile.
"Welcome, sir, how may I assist you?"
Atius nodded, "I'm just looking around, I'll call you if I decide to buy."
Panchali Lee smiled and nodded, "Then I'll get you a glass of water, and if you need anything, just call me."
