Atius walked over to the only red SUV model in the store, intending to open the door for a look.
The other two female sales associates quickly called out to Atius, "Hey, don't touch!"
The two hurried over, saying irritably, "Don't touch if you're not buying! Otherwise, I'll have to wipe off fingerprints."
Atius frowned, "How am I supposed to buy if I don't look?"
The two saleswomen looked at Atius with disdain, "Stop joking, brother. Look at what you're wearing. Do you look like someone who can afford a Ferrari?"
"Besides, this is a brand-new model recently launched by Ferrari, the only SUV they have, starting at 5 million. Just feast your eyes on it, don't daydream!"
After saying that, the two stood with their arms crossed, vigilantly watching Atius.
Atius felt his anger rising.
He had encountered disdainful looks when buying a house, and now he was meeting such presumptuous sales associates when trying to buy a car. Did he really look that shabby?
Was he not allowed to wear a white shirt and jeans that cost a few tens of dollars?
At that moment, Panchali, who had gone to fetch water for Atius, returned.
She handed a cup of water to Atius and asked with a smile, "Sir, do you like this SUV?"
"Panchali, you are still too young!" The two sales ladies started chattering, "You're new here, it's normal not to have the eye for it. Let me teach you a trick," one of them pointed at Atius, "Rich people always pursue a higher quality of life, brands are inevitable. In the future, when you see someone dressed like him, just ignore him."
"Otherwise, you'll waste so much effort talking, and in the end, they can't afford it. Isn't that a waste of saliva?"
The other one also laughed, "Look at him, even his watch is a no-name brand. Do you think he can afford any of the cars here? He probably can't even afford a tire."
Panchali's face was full of embarrassment, "Ms. Schofield, Ms. Lee, everyone who comes in is a customer, I don't think there's a need to discriminate."
The two frowned, "Panchali, are you criticizing us?!"
"How much weight do you carry to teach us how to do our jobs?"
At this moment, Atius looked at Panchali expressionlessly, "You don't need to argue with them."
Saying that, Atius took out a bank card and handed it to Panchali, "Please process the paperwork for me, I don't want to see them for another second!"
"Keep pretending," the woman from the Schofield family sneered, "I've seen plenty of rich people, and these eyes have never been wrong. If there's more than two hundred thousand in your card, I'll take your surname!"
Atius ignored them and directly opened the car door and sat inside, even locking the door, finally feeling a bit more at peace.
The two women outside were cursing, but to Atius, it was as if dogs were barking.
Soon, Panchali came over with great excitement, holding a folder and the car keys.
This was the first sale she had made in months, and with the commission, she would have the money for her father's surgery.
"Mr. Seymour, the paperwork is done, here is your card and keys."
Atius rolled down the window, nodded with a smile, "Can I drive the car away now?"
After Panchali placed the temporary license plate properly, she nodded with a smile, "Thank you, Mr. Seymour!"
Atius waved his hand and drove the car straight out of the 4S shop.
The two saleswomen who had mocked Atius stood there stunned, taking several minutes to come back to reality.
Their faces were extremely unsightly, filled with regret.
Because it was the latest model, the company had a policy that for this 5.8 million car, the commission alone was over a hundred thousand!
"Panchali!" The two saleswomen looked at Panchali with an unfriendly expression, "If it weren't for our stimulating conversation just now, he might not have bought the car!"
"In any case, you have to share the commission with us!"
Panchali bit her lip, tears flickering in her eyes, but shook her head, "Ms. Schofield, Ms. Lee, my dad is waiting for the money for his surgery. I really can't share it with you."
The woman from the Schofield family snorted coldly, "We'll see about that! Let's see how long you can last here!"
...
Atius drove on the road, attracting nearly 100% of the passersby's attention.
Many people even took out their phones to take pictures, and Atius had to keep turning his head to avoid being photographed in the face.
As he neared the old neighborhood where Maille lived, Atius saw a middle-aged man being pushed out of the corridor by Maille.
The man stumbled and nearly fell to the ground.
Maille stood with her hands on her hips blocking the entrance of the building, yelling, "Damir, get lost! Eilir is not going back with you!"
Damir was trembling with rage, raising his hand to Maille.
"You've got some nerve!" Maille glared, "Hit me, if you don't, you're not a man!"
In the end, Damir couldn't bring himself to do it, standing there panting heavily.
Atius approached, calling out, "Mr. Yates."
Damir frowned and glanced at Atius, "Who are you?"
Atius smiled, "I am Nidawi's father."
Damir grunted, "Atius, right? Go up and bring Eilir down, then come back to the Yates family with me."
Maille immediately glared at Atius, "You dare!"
Atius was at a loss for words and had to take out his phone to call Eilir.
But no matter how he tried, he couldn't get through.
Maille glared at Atius, "If you dare to side with Damir, I will never agree to you and Eilir's matter!"
Atius could only stand aside and watch, hoping the two could speak clearly.
But unexpectedly, the argument between the two became more intense, and more and more elderly people in the neighborhood came out to watch.
After a full hour, Atius could no longer bear it.
"Enough!"
Atius spoke emotionlessly, "Mr. Yates, Aunt Maille, the two of you combined are over a hundred years old. Can't you see through some things?!"
Caught off guard by Atius's interruption, Maille shifted her anger and yelled even louder, "What do you want to say?!"
Atius slowly shook his head, "The main reason you two had a dispute was because Eilir was missing. But now, Eilir is back."
"She has never experienced the warmth of a family since she was young. Finally, she found her biological parents, but you are fighting again."
"She won't be happy in the future either!"
"If you really think about Eilir, forget the past and live well."
Maille's eyes reddened, and she choked up, "Is it me who doesn't want to live well?"
"As a woman, don't I want to take it easy?"
"But I know too well what kind of person Damir is! Even if Eilir goes back to the Yates family, she won't receive his love!"
"Bullshit!" Damir couldn't help but swear, his eyes bloodshot, "After all these years, how do you know I haven't changed!"
"I've been devoted to work all these years, isn't it also to have the ability to find Eilir back? What did I do wrong?"
"I don't want to listen!" Maille shouted and turned to enter the building, not giving Damir a chance to speak.
Damir turned to Atius and sighed, "I'm sorry you had to see this."
He checked the time and said to Atius, "The old man thinks highly of you. When you have time, visit more often. I have to rush back for a meeting, so I'll leave first."
Atius nodded, watching Damir leave.
Eilir was carrying a bag of daily necessities down from the bus and saw Atius standing downstairs, hesitating, "Why don't you come up for a sit?"
"I disagree!" Maille opened the window on the third floor and yelled, "Eilir, come back to me right now!"
Seeing Eilir's troubled expression, Atius patted her shoulder with a smile, "It's okay, Eilir, Auntie will accept me one day."
Eilir's lips moved, but she couldn't say anything.
"By the way," Atius handed the car keys to Eilir, pointing to the red Ferrari SUV parked in the parking space, "Auntie was right, it's inconvenient to go anywhere without a car."
"I happen to have a comrade working in the 4S shop, he gave me an internal price, very cheap."
Eilir looked shocked and quickly shook her head, "I don't want it, you should return the car! The money you earned on the battlefield with your life! You can't spend it like this."
Atius held Eilir's hand, his eyes full of tenderness, "Fool, you and Nidawi are my everything. What's the point of living otherwise?"
"If you don't accept, I'll be very sad."
Eilir's eyes reddened, "Atius, my mother is right."
"We've been apart for five years, enough time to dilute our feelings."
"Maybe even you're not clear whether you came back for Nidawi or for me."
"I don't want to force you, nor do I want to force myself. Can you give me some more time to think it over?"
Atius's eyes also reddened, and he nodded, "I'll wait, no matter how long, I'll wait for you!"
With that, Atius turned and left.
Maille watched the scene from above.
As soon as Eilir entered, she asked, "Atius bought you a car?"
Eilir nodded, then immediately shook her head, "His money was earned on the battlefield with his life, I plan to sell the car and save the money for him."
"My silly daughter!" Maille's eyes widened, "The car is money, even if you don't drive it in the future, you can sell it."
"Besides, if he doesn't spend this money on a car, he might waste it on frivolous pursuits!"
"I don't care, if you dare sell the car, then don't call me mom!"
Eilir looked helpless and could only put the keys in her bag, then went to wash her hands and cook.
Maille glanced at Eilir in the kitchen, quietly took out the keys, and shouted toward the kitchen, "Eilir, I'm driving to buy a bottle of soy sauce, and I'll test the car for you by the way!"
Before Eilir could respond, Maille had already opened the door and rushed out.
Moments later, Maille drove to the entrance of the vegetable market and called out from a distance to a shopkeeper:
"Rick, get me a bottle of soy sauce, just put it in the trunk."
The shopkeeper came over with the soy sauce, praising, "Maille, this car must be at least two or three hundred thousand, right? Did you win the lottery?"
Maille waved her hand with a smile, "It's a gift from my son-in-law to my daughter, he insisted I take it out for a spin."
