Clarence was momentarily stunned.
He had thought the Van family's lineage had ended, but to his surprise, his foster father had an illegitimate daughter.
"Uncle Thomas, where is she now?"
She was the only bloodline of the Van family, and no matter what, Clarence had to find her and take good care of her!
"She should be in Zensea. Your father mentioned it to me once, but I don't know the exact location."
"Anyway, I know your father seemed to feel guilty about this matter, feeling very sorry for her and her mother. That's all I know."
Clarence nodded solemnly and said,
"Uncle Thomas, without your help back then, I fear that my foster father's family and I would have perished in Yahetcaster long ago."
"If there's ever anything you need from Clarence, Uncle Thomas, just say the word." After a few more words, Clarence prepared to take his leave.
Norris knew Clarence had many important things to do, so he did not keep him longer.
However, with Clarence's promise, Norris knew that if the Thomas family ever faced any difficulties, Clarence would help them overcome them.
This promise was more valuable than anything.
"Clarence, I know you are bent on revenge, but safety is more important. Unless absolutely necessary, do not go to Yahetcaster, remember, remember."
Clarence smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, Uncle Thomas, I have a clear understanding."
Then, he left his contact information with Maxine before taking his leave by car.
Entering the car, Decco spoke from the driver's seat in a deep voice,
"Dragonhead, where are we going?"
"Back to Zensea."
Clarence pondered for a moment and then said, "Decco, once we're back, start looking into the girl Norris mentioned. She is the last bloodline of the Van family, and we must find her no matter what."
"Understood, Dragonhead."
On the way back to Zensea, Clarence rested with his eyes closed.
A series of questions appeared in his mind.
Why was he abandoned as a child?
And what was his real identity?
Who exactly is the emperor, and why, even as the Dragonhead of the North, had he never heard of him?
Given the emperor's revered status, why would he persistently bother with an infant?
One mystery after another emerged, and all these mysteries pointed towards Yahetcaster.
"It seems, after some time, a trip to Yahetcaster is necessary."
Clarence had been staying in the North all these years, only entering the capital at the end of the year to report his duties, which only lasted a few days.
When it came to warfare, Clarence considered himself unmatched.
However, Yahetcaster had always been the imperial city, home to noble families and powerful clans.
Clarence had never been much interested in these circles of fame and fortune.
Even so, Clarence had to face the many forces in Yahetcaster.
Clarence had two plans now, first, to wipe out the four major families in Zensea to help the Nyse Group dominate Zensea.
Then, to find the only bloodline of the Van family, keep her by his side, or take her to the North for the best care.
Only after settling these matters would Clarence set off for Yahetcaster to find answers.
Two hours later, the group returned to Zensea.
By the time they got back, it was already evening.
Clarence returned directly to Villa No. 1 on Desvail Mountain and went up to the second floor, where he never came out again.
Rachel had seen more than once that as soon as Clarence came back, he would sit cross-legged in his room and meditate.
In her heart, Rachel had silently given Clarence a nickname, the "Meditation Maniac."
The next morning, after breakfast, Clarence and Rachel took a car to the auction site.
On the car, Rachel was somewhat anxious and stole glances at Clarence.
But she discovered that Clarence was looking straight ahead, without any sign of nervousness.
"Clarence, do you know who the Norman family and the Michael family have sent to participate in this auction?" she asked.
Clarence being interested, asked, "Who?"
Rachel gave a bitter smile, knowing Clarence was unprepared. If he knew who the Norman and Michael families had sent, he probably wouldn't be so calm.
"The Michael family sent Conrad Michael."
"In Cathay, there's nobody who doesn't know the name of Conrad Michael. He is the younger brother of the Michael family's eldest son, a ruthless and unscrupulous man for the sake of achieving his goals."
From a young age, he had a wolf-like gaze, and the Michael family had no way of controlling him.
However, fortunately, with his help, the Michael family rose from a second-tier family to become one of the top four families in Cathay in just a few years.
His merits outweighed his faults.
"Conrad Michael... Never heard of him," Clarence said bluntly.
Rachel was speechless and then mentioned, "Then there's the person from the Norman family, someone you must have heard of, Lillian Norman."
Upon hearing this name, Clarence's expression finally showed a ripple.
Lillian Norman was his high school classmate and also someone he had once had a crush on.
At that time, Clarence treated Bridget as a sister but was infatuated with the mature Lillian Norman.
But his confession before parting was publicly rejected by Lillian Norman in front of all the teachers and students.
And so, Clarence became the subject of her public humiliation.
It made sense, as the Norman family was already one of the top four families at that time, while the Van family was just starting to emerge in Cathay.
How could the young miss of the Norman family fancy an ordinary rich young master?
"Lillian Norman is twenty-six this year. After graduating from high school, she went abroad to study. She is extremely adept at reading people and is incredibly shrewd. Unwittingly, one might fall into her trap."
"Under Lillian Norman's leadership in these years, the Norman family has firmly held the position of the number one family in Cathay. Lillian Norman is highly valued by the Norman family and has always been groomed as a successor."
Clarence tapped his fingers lightly, his expression turned colder, and a hint of murderous intent burst forth.
"No matter the Michael or the Norman family, since they are both participating, I won't let either go."
Rachel shivered involuntarily at the murderous intent released by Clarence, which was not something she, a fragile woman, could bear.
"Clarence, what's your plan? You're not planning to deal with them like you did with Randy's, at the auction, are you?"
"I originally had that intention, but now, I plan to let them spit out the wealth they've swallowed from the Van family, tenfold, a hundredfold."
"Clarence, we are here to auction land, not to rob houses. This auction is led by the housing commission, you really shouldn't be impulsive like before," Rachel expressed her worries.
Given the methods Clarence had shown since his return, the scenes she could imagine were almost all filled with blood.
Clarence smiled inscrutably, "I have my plans."
And Maxine, holding the files that had been investigated, thought to herself,
The Dragonhead is not just someone with heaven-defying martial prowess. If that were all, what would differentiate him from a brute? How could he possibly command the entire North?
Now, just wait and see how the Norman and Michael families end up losing everything.
