Monica didn't dare to confront Rick directly, knowing her status was no match for the general manager of Hullton.
Instead, she vented her frustration on Clarence.
"Huh, I thought someone here was wealthy. How come you don't even have a membership card? This is such an upscale place. Haven't you ever been here?" Monica sniped at Clarence.
Maxine frowned beside her. This woman dared to mock Dragonhead like that? She had no idea what she was getting into.
Rachel, too, felt a surge of anger. Monica was the one who insisted on coming here, and now that they couldn't get in, she was blaming others.
Rick couldn't help but sneer at their absurdity. The whole family was a joke. They were acting like they belonged in the luxury area, but they didn't have the means. It was embarrassing.
Clarence remained unruffled. He simply wanted to understand why the Ivan Family was bothering Rachel.
If the four major families were behind this, he wouldn't let any of them off the hook.
"Forget it. You go get a membership," he said to Maxine.
"Yes!"
Maxine agreed and promptly went to the front desk.
"Tsk, still pretending, huh? You think you're not embarrassing enough?"
Monica taunted sarcastically. "Do you know how much the membership fee is here? Five hundred thousand, a whopping five hundred thousand every month!"
However, within minutes, Maxine returned with a card and handed it to Rick, saying, "Can we go in now?"
"How can you go in? I see you can't even afford the lowest-tier card," Monica sneered.
But the next moment, Rick's expression changed immediately, his tone becoming respectful.
"This... This is the Supreme Member Card!"
The Supreme Member Card required a one-time deposit of twenty million, and not everyone qualified for it.
Someone had to have made significant achievements in government, business, or the military.
In the business world of Zensea, there were only a handful of people who held this card, each of whom was untouchable.
Moreover, Rick had personally witnessed Maxine applying for the membership card at the front desk. There was no mistaking it.
But how could this person meet the standards for the Supreme Member Card?
It was impossible. She looked too young to be a big business owner, let alone someone in politics.
Could it be...
At the thought, Rick's neck shrank a bit, and he chuckled, saying, "Madam, from now on, you're our hotel's most honored guest. If there's anything amiss, please forgive us."
When Monica and the others saw the purple Supreme Member Card encrusted with diamonds, they were all shocked.
Even Lester and his wife, though aware that Clarence had some money, had never seen someone casually spend twenty million on a membership card.
It was extravagant beyond belief.
Monica couldn't believe it as she approached, holding the membership card. "Is this... Is this the Supreme Member Card? How did you get it?"
Maxine smirked and looked at Monica.
"Of course, I got it. The Honorable, let's go in."
Clarence looked at Maxine, a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes, and said solemnly, "I told you to get a card, just a regular one. Why did you have to get the Supreme Card? I've told you so many times to keep a low profile."
Maxine remained cooperative, smiling faintly.
"They said someone like me would get a discount on the membership fee, even a fifty percent discount. I thought I'd save you some money."
Monica heard the piercing remark and felt her chest heaving with anger.
She couldn't even afford a regular membership, and yet this person could afford the ultimate membership.
Was this saving money?
To Monica, it was clearly an excuse, a blatant slap in the face!
She huffed and headed straight upstairs.
"Let's see how Mr. Ivan deals with you," she thought to herself.
Camille muttered discontentedly, "Clarence, you don't know how to manage money. You've spent all your savings on a card. Sometimes, you need to know your limits."
Then, she forcefully dragged Rachel upstairs.
Watching Clarence, Maxine, and the others head upstairs, Rick frowned. Something seemed fishy. He immediately went to the front desk to inquire.
"What's going on? Who was the person applying for the Supreme Member Card just now?"
Excitement flashed in the front desk attendant's eyes as she replied, "Mr. Franklin, when I was helping her with the card, I mentioned our hotel's discount policy, and then she showed me her identification."
"What kind of identification? How could it meet the standards for our Supreme Card discount? Are you sure you're not mistaken?"
The front desk attendant smiled bitterly. "Mr. Franklin, how could I be mistaken? It was the identification of a three-star general from the North."
"What?"
A three-star general from the North!
That woman?
Rick's breath quickened. With certainty confirmed, he hurried straight to the chairman's office.
The membership card system at Hullton Hotel was designed to network with all kinds of dignitaries, especially those from the military.
After all, they held real power, and even a small-time instructor would be treated with caution and respect.
And the higher the level of the membership card, the higher the person's status and position.
He never dreamed that a three-star general would appear in Zensea. This matter had to be taken seriously!
At that moment, inside the chairman's office of Hullton Hotel...
A middle-aged man in a crisp suit gazed out at the scenery of Zensea, lost in thought.
On the desk lay a blood-stained garment!
"Chad, oh Chad, I originally wanted you to get married in my hotel, which would have been a joyous occasion. But I never expected something like this to happen."
"I don't know what the Van Family did to offend someone. Unfortunately, I have a family to take care of, and I dare not intervene in your affairs. Don't blame me."
"This garment is what you wore when you died. I've kept it all this time, wondering whether to give it to your brother."
"If he wants to investigate through this garment, and something happens, I'll regret it."
These days, Sedrick Hunk had been keeping an eye on the situation in Zensea.
Whether it was Nyse Group's return, Clarence auctioning off the Gorchud District in the north of the city, or the large-scale brawl in the slums, he knew the general picture.
But the more he knew, the more worried he became about Clarence's safety.
"Being too conspicuous is not a good thing. If I contact Clarence now, I might get implicated too."
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Sedrick hurriedly put the blood-stained garment back in the box, sat up straight, and said, "Come in."
Rick quickly entered, looking somewhat nervous.
"Mr. Hunk, something big has happened. Someone just got a Supreme Member Card."
"Oh? Who from Zensea is giving me, Sedrick, this kind of face?"
Rick took a deep breath, waved his hand, and said, "No, it's not someone from Zensea. It's a three-star general from the war zone!"
"What?"
With a sudden jerk, Sedrick stood up.
"What's his name, and which war zone?"
"It should be the North. His name is Maxine, and she's a woman. Oh, and there's another person with her. She seems to show special respect to that person."
"Mr. Hunk, in little Zensea, when did we ever have such a big shot? Even a three-star general bows to her. What kind of status does that person have?"
"Do you know the name of this big shot?" Sedrick asked sharply.
Rick thought for a moment, then slapped his thigh.
"Oh, I remember! I heard someone call him—Clarence!"
Sedrick's eyelids twitched violently. Clarence!
Chad's brother, Clarence. How could it be him?
"Where are they now? Take me there immediately," Sedrick demanded.
