"Hey, why didn't you kiss on the lips?" Jackson opened his eyes, dissatisfied.
"You only told me to kiss once, but you didn't specify where!" Violet retorted confidently.
Jackson thought about it and realized he had indeed overlooked this detail.
"Fine, next time we make a bet, I'll let you kiss my lips," Jackson said, not minding it.
"Keep dreaming, I won't bet with you again!" Violet huffed and then sat back in her office chair.
"You got your bet's reward, now you can get lost!" Violet said irritably.
"As you wish." Jackson left with a grin.
Watching Jackson leave, Violet took a breath and hurriedly wiped her lips.
The thought of her initiating a close contact with Jackson made her shiver.
That damn rascal!
...
Back in the sales department, Wade and others were fetching water and striking up conversations as if Jackson was the boss.
Now, Jackson was the star of the sales department. His background was intimidating, but what truly impressed others was his capability.
Previously, people gossiped about Jackson's background, but now no one dared to do so. Jackson had proven his abilities through his actions.
Griffith Group entered a busy state. The client who signed a 7,500,000 dollar-deal was a super company from America. In terms of scale, it was even larger than Griffith Group, warranting caution.
During a break, Jackson took out his phone and sent a Facebook message to Sophia, "Sophia, thank you."
Sophia replied quickly, "Dear God of Wind, I wanted to ask if you received the order. It seems you've arrived in Land of the Red Dragon, which is reassuring."
"Actually, it didn't need to be that much, Sophia," Jackson replied.
He only needed to complete a 750,000 dollars’ performance target, but Sophia directly arranged a 7,500,000 dollar-deal.
This was why Jackson needed to thank Sophia again.
If Sophia had just arranged a 750,000 dollar-deal as he instructed, Jackson wouldn't have needed to say more.
But 7,500,000 dollars was different.
Such a generous gift truly deserved a thank you.
Sophia thought she had made a mistake and immediately sent a sweating emoji, "I thought the more, the better. Dear God of Wind, I'm so sorry, did I ruin your plan?"
"No, not at all. Just next time, if I ask you to do something, just follow my instructions. Also, I hope you don't mention my visit to Land of the Red Dragon," Jackson replied.
He had returned to the country keeping a low profile and didn't want his underworld friends to know his whereabouts, to avoid endless trouble.
Sophia immediately sent several ecstatic emojis, "Okay, feel free to ask for my help in the future! Don't worry, I'll keep it a secret. That's a Chinese idiom, right?"
Through the phone screen, Jackson could almost see Miranda's overjoyed expression, which made him shudder.
He thought to himself that he should try to ask for her help less in the future, lest he get entangled with her again.
At this moment, a high-profile individual arrived at the business department.
Ezequiel, the Chairman's driver and assistant, didn't have much actual power, but as a favoured person close to the Chairman, everyone wanted to curry favour with him.
"Mr. Ezequiel, why have you come down personally?" Even Manager Waylon was startled and hurriedly greeted him with a flattering smile.
Ezequiel exchanged a smile with Waylon and then directly approached Jackson, who was playing with his phone.
"Mr. Jackson, the Chairman wants to see you." Ezequiel, who was usually not courteous to others, was surprisingly respectful in front of Jackson.
Waylon was about to scold Jackson for playing with his phone in front of Ezequiel, but seeing Ezequiel's attitude, he was almost in shock.
Then Waylon thought, it made sense. Jackson had always been close to the Chairman.
And now, he had even secured a huge deal of 7,500,000 dollars. It was only normal for the Chairman to summon him.
In the rising elevator.
"Mr. Jackson, I haven't had the chance to thank you for last time," Ezequiel suddenly said.
If it weren't for Jackson during the last ambush by the Bold Eagle Gang, Ezequiel didn't know what he would have done.
"It's a small matter, don't be so formal, Mr. Ezequiel. You're a few years older than me, just call me Jackson," said Jackson with a smile.
Inside the Chairman's office.
Apollo was looking through some files with a serious expression.
Upon seeing Jackson enter, Apollo handed over the documents, "Jackson, take a look, Heidi is really not simple!
I've known her for over three years and never noticed anything special about her.
If it weren't for you this time, I still wouldn't have known about Heidi's astonishing identity," Apollo remarked.
Jackson briefly looked at the documents and then closed them, pondering, "It's almost as I expected. Heidi probably guessed my identity too, that's why she sold me the information on the Bold Eagle Gang."
"What should we do next? I, as an ordinary person, can't intervene in matters of your third world," said Apollo with some difficulty.
"If Heidi knows my identity, she probably means no harm. Selling me the information must mean she wants something from me, hence she asked me to meet her tonight at the Hilton Hotel. I'm curious about what she's really up to," Jackson said.
Hearing this, Apollo looked alarmed, "Could this be a trap...?"
Now whether Heidi was a friend or foe was unclear. If she was feigning friendliness to lure Jackson into a trap, that would be terrible.
"It won't be." Jackson shook his head in denial.
Three years ago, when he was in the Land of the Red Dragon, he had already met his match.
Since then, after spending three years abroad and being transformed by the S virus, he had evolved beyond normal humans through countless life-and-death struggles.
Now, even if the entire human population was taken into account, there were few who could match him in battle.
As long as Heidi didn't ambush him with a fully armed military force, Jackson could escape unscathed.
Intuitively, Jackson felt that Heidi had no ill intentions.
It had been three years since he left the Land of the Red Dragon, and he wanted to know the stance of his country. Perhaps Heidi was a channel for this.
This was also the main reason why Jackson decided to meet with Heidi.
"Alright, I trust your strength, but you must be careful." Seeing Jackson's insistence, Apollo had nothing more to say.
"Chairman, three police officers have arrived outside. They say they want to question Jackson," said Ezequiel, knocking on the office door.
"What's going on?" Apollo frowned. The police coming to the company to take someone away, and specifically asking for Jackson?
"It's probably about the fight with the Bold Eagle Gang that night. I remember that area had surveillance cameras.
If a brawl occurs in the city, the police will definitely check the surveillance footage and learn about the incident.
However, we were acting in self-defense, so it shouldn't be a big deal. They probably just want to ask a few questions and investigate the specific details of the incident," analyzed Jackson, his tone very relaxed, clearly not taking the police questioning too seriously.
"Jackson makes sense," Apollo reassured, then said to Ezequiel, "Let them in."
