The first to enter the room was a female police officer.
Under her police cap was a delicate and spirited face, with phoenix eyes and ear-length short hair, giving her an overall aura of efficiency and serenity, full of heroic spirit.
Following her were two male police officers, responsible for eavesdropping and taking notes, while the questioning was led by the female officer.
"Hello, I am Adaline, the team leader of the Jimstantham City Criminal Investigation Brigade. I'm here today regarding a violent brawl that occurred the night before last.
After investigation, our police force discovered that Mr. Jackson from your company was involved in this brawl, so I've come to inquire and ask for your cooperation with the official duties."
Officer Adaline first shook hands with Apollo, then turned to Jackson. Her phoenix eyes immediately fixed on Jackson, filled with scrutiny.
"Hello."
Jackson, unfazed, shook hands with Adaline.
During the handshake, Jackson noticed, somewhat surprised, that Adaline's small hand had some calluses, marks left by years of handling guns.
Adaline must be skilled with firearms, Jackson thought to himself.
"Please explain in detail about last night's specific situation," Adaline asked in a strictly business-like manner, looking serious.
Although Ezequiel, who was both Apollo's driver and bodyguard, was also involved in the fight, it was somewhat justifiable for him to have acted.
Moreover, Ezequiel's skills were within understandable limits.
But Jackson's involvement was astonishing.
Adaline had watched the surveillance footage more than ten times. Jackson's swift and fierce movements had even startled her through the screen.
Especially the scene where he kicked a steel knife and punctured a motorcycle tire, which had left several skilled members of the police force in silence.
Now sitting face-to-face and while questioning, Adaline also observed him discreetly.
Had she not seen the surveillance footage, Adaline would never have guessed that this seemingly harmless young man had single-handedly defeated the members of the Bold Eagle Gang.
Jackson, seemingly unaware of being observed, furrowed his brow in recollection and then detailed everything that had happened the night before.
However, he did not mention anything about Heidi providing intelligence.
He simply said that as an employee of the company, seeing someone with malicious intentions towards the Chairman and the President, he stepped in to intervene.
This response was unsatisfactory to Adaline.
She had already investigated Jackson's background, but to no avail, as his information was classified as top secret.
Would an ordinary employee, on his first day at the company, have the privilege to dine with the Chairman and President?
Moreover, Jackson's ease in taking down all the members of the Bold Eagle Gang was something Adaline admitted she couldn't do herself, nor could she confidently say anyone in the Jimstantham police force could.
Even with her suspicions, Adaline couldn't voice them.
At that time, Jackson had acted in self-defense, which fell under the category of legitimate defence, thus not constituting a crime.
Adaline's conversation was merely to inquire about the situation at that time. If Jackson refused to answer other questions, there was nothing she could do.
After brief contact, Adaline considered Jackson to be a very cunning person.
Therefore, regarding her doubts, she believed Jackson would probably come up with some excuse to fend her off.
"Why did you choose to leave the scene after the incident?" Adaline asked the last question, which was also what she couldn't understand.
"Because I was panicked at that time. We are all ordinary people, faced with such a big incident, naturally, we didn't want any further trouble. We just wanted to get home quickly to avoid secondary retaliation," Jackson replied with a wry smile.
Jackson's explanation seemed reasonable and logical, but Adaline still felt something was off.
Seeing that she couldn't extract any useful information, Adaline stood up and said, "That's all for today. If necessary, I will come to question Mr. Jackson again in the future."
"No problem," Jackson also stood up and smiled.
"Leader Adaline, as one of the people involved in this incident, I have something to say," Apollo spoke up at this moment.
"Mr. Apollo, please go ahead," Adaline stopped, as Apollo was a local star entrepreneur, and even the police had to show him some respect.
"The night before, we were attacked by a gang. If it weren't for Jackson's presence, the safety of my daughter Violet and I would have been severely threatened.
I hope your police force can catch the mastermind behind this soon and punish them severely to prevent similar incidents from happening again," Apollo said slowly.
"Mr. Apollo, please rest assured, our police department will thoroughly investigate this matter and will not let the culprits get away," Adaline said solemnly, then she took a deep look at Jackson and left.
"Jackson, what do you think?" After Adaline left, Apollo asked with curiosity.
"There shouldn't be a problem. From the questioning just now, the police don't know my real identity yet," Jackson said.
That evening.
Led by Wade, the second group of the business department organized a celebration banquet at a restaurant.
The atmosphere at the banquet was very lively. Many employees toasted Jackson, leaving him staggering drunk.
"I can't... I'm drunk... I can't drink anymore..." Jackson held his wine glass, his eyes blurry.
After this celebration banquet, the members of the second group of the business department grew closer to Jackson, and he fully integrated into the circle.
After the banquet, Wade and Nolan helped Jackson out of the restaurant.
"Mr. Jackson, you're too drunk to drive. Where do you live? I'll take you home," Wade offered kindly.
"No, it's not necessary. Someone is coming to pick me up," Jackson said, pointing to a Mercedes at the entrance of the restaurant, slurring his words.
As soon as he finished speaking, the door of the Mercedes opened, and the most unexpected person came out!
Chairman's driver, Ezequiel!
"Ezequiel!" Wade was stunned, not just him, everyone from the second group of the business department sobered up in an instant.
Although Ezequiel had come to the business department during the day to deliver a message for the chairman, that was for work.
But now, Ezequiel had personally come to pick Jackson up, which was self-explanatory.
More importantly, this action conveyed a message to everyone that Jackson might be living with the chairman!
This made Jackson's real identity even more elusive and mysterious.
Even after the Mercedes drove away, the members of the second group of the business department were still in shock.
...
In the car.
Jackson's eyes instantly became sober.
"I'm afraid it won't be possible to keep a low profile anymore," Jackson shook his head and smiled.
"It's the chairman's order, saying it's beneficial for your work," Ezequiel explained.
"Ezequiel, turn left at the next intersection, and go directly to the Hilton Hotel," Jackson said, closing his eyes.
Half an hour later.
The Hilton is a five-star hotel in Jimstantham City, located in the city centre, with extremely expensive room rates. Those who can live there often are usually high-ranking officials and nobility.
The Mercedes stopped in front of the hotel.
"Do you need me to come with you?" Ezequiel rolled down the window and asked.
"No need," Jackson quickly scanned the area to ensure there were no ambushes, then stepped into the hotel.
