Violet stared blankly at the scene, still unable to believe that Jackson, a young man she had casually found, had actually knocked down three hooligans.
Upon hearing Jackson mention the matter of a hook-up, Violet's pretty face instantly turned red.
"This... let's talk about it later."
"My friend was kidnapped by them, I need to check on her condition first!" With this thought, Violet hurriedly untied Amira, who was bound to a chair, calling out her name repeatedly.
"She's just fainted and should be fine, and her body doesn't seem to have been tampered with." With years of experience, Jackson's sharp eye quickly assessed Amira's condition.
Speaking of which, this girl named Amira isn't bad-looking either.
Damn, I haven't been back to Jimstantham City for three years, and it's changed so much. The girls here have become so pretty? Jackson thought to himself, secretly amazed.
"Let's get her out of here first," Jackson suggested.
After lifting Amira into the car, Jackson was about to get in when Violet quickly shut the door first, explaining, "I'll take Amira to a nearby hospital first. We'll... we'll contact about that other matter later!"
With that, she sped off in her Ferrari, disappearing in a flash.
Jackson, realizing the situation, took out his phone to ask which hospital but found that Violet had blocked him!
"Damn, I've been fooled!"
"The prettier the woman, the less trustworthy her words!" Jackson cursed under his breath.
Having no other choice, since he didn't get his hook-up, he decided to go to his patron's place.
He hailed a taxi and headed straight for the Griffith Building.
The Griffith Group, mainly dealing in medicinal herbs, nearly monopolized Jimstantham City's medicinal herb market. Wealthy and powerful, they bought a plot of land in the city centre and erected a towering building.
"Real tycoons, indeed." Standing in front of the Griffith Building, Jackson couldn't help but feel impressed.
Just as he was about to enter the building, he was stopped by the security guard at the door.
"Hey, you there, stop! What do you want?" The security guard was assertive, stepping forward and blocking his view.
"Hello, brother security, I'm here to see Apollo Griffith. Could you please inform him?" Anticipating a long-term task, Jackson decided to be friendly, as he would be dealing with these guards often.
"Apollo Griffith, that name sounds familiar," the guard pondered.
"You fool, Apollo is our company's chairman!" another guard scolded.
"Oh! So you're here for Chairman Apollo, I see... Wait, no. Chairman Apollo is a man of status. He isn't someone you, a poor kid, can just meet whenever you want!" the guard said sternly.
"That's right, get going, or we won't be nice anymore!" the other guard impatiently waved him off.
Seeing the unfriendly attitude of the guards, Jackson was displeased. What was so great about being a chairman? Does that mean he's too high and mighty to meet with me? Looking down on people, huh?
"I'll wait only ten minutes. If Apollo doesn't come down to meet me personally, I, Jackson, will not take on the Griffith Group's task!" Jackson pointed at his watch and huffed.
Then, raising his voice an octave, he continued, "Also, the marriage arrangement between his daughter Violet and me should be called off too. I, Jackson, am not someone to be taken lightly!"
"What did you just say? Who has a marriage arrangement with you?" At that moment, a familiar cold female voice drifted from behind.
Jackson turned around, surprised. The woman speaking was none other than Violet, the one who had agreed to hook up with him at the airport and then ditched him.
"Is it you?!" Violet was extremely surprised. After sending her best friend, Amira, to the hospital, she received a call from her father about an important guest arriving at the company. She hurried back, never expecting to encounter this sleazy young man again.
"Such is fate, let's continue and go book a room!" Seeing his casual partner, Jackson was especially friendly. He didn't even bother to meet Apollo, as nothing was more important than a girl.
Hearing this, the two security guards nearly fainted. "Damn, he dares to flirt with the gem of Jimstantham City, this guy is courting death?"
"Who wants to book a room with you!" Violet instantly showed an expression of embarrassed anger. This scoundrel, taking her seriously, had already been paid and still persisted shamelessly. She had never seen such a brazen man.
"Security! Security!"
"Get him out of here! I don't want to see this person again!" Violet said angrily, then quickly remembered she had an important guest to meet and hurried upstairs in her high heels.
"Hey hey hey, partner, don't leave!" Seeing Violet entering the building, Jackson still wanted to follow.
The two security guards, seeing this, couldn't allow it to continue. They stood at the door and sternly said, "Young man, President Violet doesn't want to see you. You better leave on your own!"
"President Violet? Which President Violet?" Jackson was puzzled.
"The one you just flirted with is our company's president, Violet! And you claimed to be her fiancé, not even recognizing her. Who are you trying to fool?" the guards said with contempt.
"Damn, she's Violet? The one that asked me on a date?" Jackson was stunned.
...
At the top floor of Griffith Group's building, Apollo was holding a senior management meeting.
"In the past year, our Griffith Group's shares have increased by three percentage points. This is a significant progress. Next, we will focus on the pharmaceutical field..." Apollo pointed at the big screen.
The 48-year-old Apollo, still in his prime but with temples greying, carried an imposing presence without anger.
"Chairman Apollo, your phone..." The assistant hurriedly came over and whispered something in Apollo's ear.
Hearing this, Apollo's eyes lit up. He grabbed the phone, constantly saying okay while quickly walking out of the meeting room.
The meeting was halted midway, leaving the executives in surprise. Chairman Apollo was always serious and responsible, never abandoning his work halfway. What phone call could be so important?
...
The standoff continued at the entrance of Griffith Group's building.
"Young man, if you don't leave, we will have to force you out." The commotion even alarmed the head of security. He arrived with a group of guards, intending to remove Jackson.
"Zyaire, stop wasting time talking to him. President Violet has spoken, get him out!" the other guards said.
The head of security, Zyaire, seeing that Jackson remained silent, raised his eyebrows and waved his hand, "Get him out!"
"Stop!"
Just then, a loud shout came from behind everyone.
Seeing the newcomer, the security guards immediately fell silent. "Damn, why is Chairman Apollo here?"
"Mr. Jackson is a distinguished guest I personally invited. I want to see who dares to drive him away!" Apollo scolded loudly, annoyed. If he hadn't arrived in time, Jackson might have been driven away by the security.
Hearing this, the guards were utterly shocked. This young man was actually Chairman Apollo's distinguished guest?
"Mr. Jackson, I've been looking forward to meeting you!" Apollo Griffith walked up to Jackson, extended his hand warmly, and greeted him.
"I have seen the hospitality of Griffith Group." Jackson said mockingly.
"Mr. Jackson, today's incident is my fault. Let's talk inside," Apollo said with an apologetic smile.
In the chairman's office.
Violet had been waiting for a long time. Seeing Apollo, she quickly asked, "Father, who is the important guest our company has..."
She stopped mid-sentence, shocked, as she saw the least expected person!
Jackson entered the office and immediately saw her, pausing for a moment before revealing a surprised smile.
"Ha, casual partner, fate is inescapable!"
