"The surveillance room also has cameras. The footage of you giving me the money, along with everything said, was all recorded! We can confront each other with this!" At this point, Major had nothing left to lose.
Jett Griffith's soul nearly jumped out of his body. He had overlooked this detail!!
"Very good, you didn't let me down, Zyaire!" Zyaire nodded in approval, then turned to Jett Griffith with a cold voice, "Deputy Manager Jett, do you have anything to say?"
The situation had suddenly reversed. Without the need for further explanation, all accusations were now pointing towards Jett Griffith and Hope.
The most awkward part was that, due to Jett Griffith's status, no one among the present employees dared to openly criticize him. However, the atmosphere was eerie, and the contemptuous glances said it all!
Both were panicked and had run out of things to say.
"Deputy Manager Jett, Ms. Hope, you set up a trap to frame Mr. Jackson. I hope you can explain this clearly in front of Chairman Apollo!" Zyaire snorted coldly.
Chairman Apollo's office.
Bang!
"Jett! What have you done!"
After listening to Zyaire's account and corroboration from others, Apollo, who had been frowning the entire time, slammed his desk angrily, startling Jett Griffith.
"Cousin, Cousin, I was blinded by impulse, blinded by impulse..." Jett Griffith forced a smile uglier than crying. This time, he really shot himself in the foot. Not only did he fail to bring down Jackson, but he also got himself into a mess. His credibility was gone, and his affair was exposed.
His wife had already called him. Many from the Griffith Family in the company must have informed her.
Jett Griffith dared not answer the call, but with his wife's temper, an argument tonight was inevitable.
However, Jett Griffith didn't take it too seriously. What he cared about most was Alaia's opinion.
Originally, pursuing Alaia was already difficult, but this difficulty was only due to him being a married man. Jett Griffith believed that as long as he was willing to put in the effort and promise a divorce, he could win Alaia over.
But now, his affair was exposed.
What would Alaia think if she found out? This was Jett Griffith's biggest concern.
As for Jackson, Jett Griffith had completely resented him. If it weren't for his intervention, Jett Griffith wouldn't have ended up so miserably.
After scolding his incompetent cousin, Apollo said sternly, "Jett, apologize to Jackson."
"Apologize? Why should I apologize to him?" Jett Griffith protested, feeling somewhat dissatisfied. Why was his cousin siding with an outsider?
"Jett Griffith! You still don't realize the seriousness of the situation!" Apollo slammed his desk again and shouted, "Framing Jackson for theft, just this alone could land you in jail!"
"Send me to jail then!" Jett Griffith defiantly stared at Jackson.
Clang!
Jackson clenched his fist, ready to fight. Suddenly, the door of the chairman's office was forcefully opened from the outside!
A woman with a waist like a water bucket, striding on two sturdy legs, walked in.
"Joanna!" Seeing his wife actually came to the company, Jett Griffith was almost scared to death.
"You heartless man! How dare you find another woman behind my back!" Joanna walked in, rolled up her sleeves, grabbed Jett Griffith's ear, and dragged him to the ground, screaming in pain.
"What are you doing!" Hope tried to separate them.
"And you, you shameless woman!"
Joanna turned her anger towards Hope, pouncing on her and starting a brawl.
Hope, not one to be easily bullied, immediately fought back in anger.
Just like that, the two middle-aged women fought in the chairman's office, with cursing, tearing, and spitting all over the place, creating an uncontrollable chaos.
"Take your fight outside!" Even Apollo couldn't stand it anymore.
The two women obediently moved their battleground outside the office. Fortunately, it was after work hours, so there weren't many people in the company.
"Brother, I..." Jett Griffith looked at Apollo. As the person involved, he couldn't let them continue fighting.
"Go on, go!" Apollo waved his hand impatiently.
Jett Griffith quickly nodded, glaring resentfully at Jackson before leaving.
Jackson's clenched fist gradually relaxed, inwardly remarking on Jett Griffith's unexpectedly good luck. If it weren't for Joanna's timely arrival, Jett Griffith would be lying on the ground by now.
"This incompetent cousin really infuriates me!" Apollo sighed.
Apollo looked at Zyaire and pondered, "Zyaire, you've done a good job distinguishing right from wrong this time. You will be rewarded with 450 dollars!"
"Thank you, Chairman Apollo. It's my duty," Zyaire hurriedly said. Four hundred and fifty dollars was nearly half a month's salary for him.
"As for you, Major." Apollo looked at Major, his expression contemplative.
"Chairman, Major inadvertently moved the camera. He was unaware, so he should not be blamed," Zyaire quickly interjected.
Hearing Zyaire plead for Major, Jackson secretly shook his head. Zyaire clearly underestimated the importance of Jett Griffith. Even if Apollo wanted to take action, he would consider the reaction of the Griffith Family.
Jett Griffith wouldn't face severe punishment. If anything, it would just be for show.
But if the company didn't set an example after Jett Griffith's false accusations against an employee, the entire company's workforce would lose heart.
In other words, someone had to take the blame. Unfortunately, Major was the most suitable candidate.
Zyaire's contribution was significant, but not enough for Apollo to spare Major. Otherwise, who would take the blame?
This wasn't to say Apollo was heartless. As the Chairman, he had to make decisions that best managed such a large company.
Just as Zyaire chose to plead for Major, that was his stance as the head of security. And Apollo, as Chairman, chose to have Major take the blame. Was that necessarily wrong?
Jackson had anticipated this. He knew that Apollo wouldn't accept Zyaire's plea for Major. That's why after Zyaire finished speaking, Jackson added his own words.
Now, it was time to keep his promise.
"Uncle Apollo, I'll vouch for Major," Jackson straightforwardly said.
Apollo was about to announce Major's dismissal but, hearing Jackson's words, he changed his mind: "Since Jackson has forgiven him, I'll let this slide."
"Thank you, Chairman!" Major said excitedly.
"You should thank Jackson and Zyaire," Apollo said with a smile and a shake of his head.
Major then thanked Jackson and Zyaire repeatedly, promising never to make such a mistake again.
Major was young and couldn't see the intricacies of these benefits. But Zyaire, with his sharp eyes, realized that it was Jackson's intervention that made Apollo spare Major. His gratitude towards Jackson increased.
After Zyaire and Major left, Apollo sighed and said with a hint of apology, "Jackson, I'm sorry about this time. I'll definitely deal with Jett strictly."
"The punishment isn't the main issue," Jackson said, comfortably sitting on the sofa. "Uncle Apollo, how many people from the Griffith Family are in Griffith Group?"
"Many, but the highest-ranking is Jett. The rest are in minor positions. Some young family members are even at the grassroots level," Apollo detailed.
"That's good. I was worried you were running a family business," Jackson said with a smile.
Apollo shook his head, "The other branches of the Griffith Family are lacking talents. Even if they wanted to join the board, they wouldn't have the capability. The drawbacks of a family business are too significant. Putting Jett in the deputy manager position of the HR department was also a concession to the family," Apollo said with a sigh.
"It seems my worries were unnecessary," Jackson remarked.
...
After leaving the Chairman's office, Jackson sent a message to 'Red Spider': "Thanks for your help."
"Is everything settled?" Red Spider replied quickly.
"Not yet. During this time, keep a close eye on Jett Griffith and see if you can find anything else," Jackson instructed.
"Okay," Red Spider sent an OK gesture.
Red Spider, was a female member of Jackson's 'Beast Legion', specialized in cybersecurity.
Once a genius hacker who shocked the United States by infecting the Pentagon with a virus, she evaded the U.S. Intelligence for five years.
After Jackson, known as 'God of Wind', formed the Beast Legion, Red Spider joined voluntarily and had since achieved remarkable feats with accurate intelligence.
However, Red Spider never showed her real face, even to Jackson, despite three years of collaboration.
"Are you ugly?" Jackson once asked her.
"Yes," Red Spider replied bluntly.
"But your voice is lovely," Jackson sincerely said.
"Stop flattering. Say one more useless thing, and I'll delete all the AVs in your hard drive," Red Spider said coldly.
Jackson: "…"
With a teammate like Red Spider, decrypting the photos on Jett Griffith's computer hard drive was child's play.
"Huh?"
Just as he was about to return to the Griffith Family, Jackson caught a glimpse of a familiar figure hiding in a corner.
"Come out," Jackson said with a smirk.
Hearing Jackson, the figure trembled, hesitated for a moment, and then slowly emerged. Wearing glasses and quite pretty, it was Alivia.
"Mr. Jackson..." Alivia said timidly.
Jackson looked at her and asked, "Have you been here all this time?"
"I was worried..." Alivia said, lowering her head in shame.
"You even framed me, what else are you worried about?" Jackson asked mockingly.
"Mr. Jackson, I... I..." Alivia's eyes reddened, and she started crying.
Jackson coldly observed her for a long time:
"I haven't told anyone about you framing me. I believe Jett Griffith won't trouble you anymore. We're even now. I hope you don't make such mistakes again. Take care of yourself."
With that, Jackson walked away.
"Mr. Jackson..."
Watching Jackson's departing figure, Alivia covered her chest, suddenly realizing she had lost something important.
...
At Jett Griffith's home.
After temporarily settling the conflict between his wife and mistress, Jett Griffith collapsed on the sofa, his eyes filled with intense hatred.
Taking out his phone, he made a call.
"Luke, I need you to teach someone a lesson," Jett Griffith said darkly.
"Who?"
"Jackson!"
