At the entrance of the mall, it was already crowded with people.
The crowd gathered to watch the excitement, news media, mall managers, police officers, and medical personnel, all converged here, forming an impenetrable circle.
The Land of the Red Dragon is a country with very stable public security, and it's rare for such major incidents to occur. If this happened abroad, it would be quite normal, and hardly anyone would gather around. But it's different when it happens domestically.
Suddenly, at that moment, the glass on the fourth floor of the mall shattered with a loud crash!
"Wow!"
"Look!"
"Oh my God!"
Seeing the sudden shattering of the glass, the crowd gathered outside the mall exclaimed in shock as the robber fell from the fourth floor.
The media cameras captured this scene just in time, immediately sparking heated discussions online!
The police reacted the fastest, with Adaline taking the lead, rushing over, swiftly controlling the robber, and taking a series of response measures!
"What exactly is happening inside?" Adaline grabbed the robber and asked coldly.
Although Jackson was equipped with a communication device, the damn Jackson turned off the device as soon as he entered the mall, so the police had no idea what was happening inside and didn't dare to enter rashly, only anxiously waiting.
The robber couldn't answer, he had been fiercely kicked by Jackson and had fallen from the fourth floor. It was a miracle he was still alive. Immediately, medical staff took the robber on a stretcher and sent him to the hospital.
Inside the mall.
Seeing Jackson kicking his accomplice away, the other robbers were terrified. What kind of strength was this!
Although the robbers no longer attacked, Jackson didn't intend to let them go. Like a wolf preying on a flock of sheep, he beat the robbers up until they lay on the ground, either crying out in pain or pretending to be dead.
"Mr. Jackson, it was this man who hurt me. Beat him up more!" Amira pointed at Raiden. If it weren't for Raiden, she wouldn't have been in such danger.
Raiden, who was playing dead, almost died of fright upon hearing this. He had just witnessed Jackson's combat ability, which was so fast that the moves were invisible, and he was no match at all!
"Oh? So you bullied my Amira, huh?"
Jackson picked up Raiden, who was lying among the corpses, clenched his fist, and beat him until his face was bruised and swollen, his eyes rolling back, almost to the point of death.
Finally, Jackson kicked Raiden, sending him flying!
Raiden's body, like a straight line, quickly crashed through the glass just like the previous robber, falling from the fourth floor with a crash!
Another commotion arose below, but Jackson didn't pay attention to that. Instead, he stared straight at Colton.
It was apparent that Colton was the mastermind behind this robbery.
The other robbers were mediocre. With such a large police force deployed, if it weren't for Colton holding the scene, Raiden and the others would have surrendered long ago.
The first one to shoot at Jackson was also Colton. If Jackson hadn't sealed the magazine in advance, Amira might have been shot.
Such behaviour, in Jackson's eyes, was equivalent to having the other party dead. However, he needed a legitimate reason to act.
There were surveillance cameras in the mall, and it was clear that Colton and his men no longer had the strength to resist. If Jackson killed Colton at this moment, the police would retrieve the surveillance footage later and surely trouble Jackson.
Seeing his companions beaten down and Jackson approaching step by step, Colton panicked. Clenching his teeth, he pulled out a spring knife from his waist and grabbed a female hostage.
With the spring knife pressed against her neck, the female hostage was terrified and her face turned pale.
"Don't come any closer! Otherwise, I'll kill her!" Colton threatened fiercely, desperate and willing to do anything to escape alive.
Jackson indeed stopped in his tracks, but surprisingly, a faint smile appeared on his lips.
At that moment!
Jackson threw a small knife, and in a flash of cold light, it pierced through!
Thud!
The knife blade directly pierced Colton's forehead, blood spurting out, splashing all over the female hostage's face!
"Ah!"
The female hostage screamed, escaping from Colton's grasp and hiding in a corner, shivering.
Everyone was horrified to see Colton pierced in the forehead by the knife, uttering a resentful sound, struggling on the spot for a moment, and then collapsing to the ground, dead with eyes wide open.
Although the other robbers were severely beaten, they could still move. Seeing their leader killed, they all swallowed nervously and thought about sneaking away.
"They're trying to run!"
"They don't have guns anymore, these damn bastards, don't let them get away!"
The customers in the mall were still in shock after witnessing the robbers attempt to flee. Several male customers, no longer threatened by the robbers' firearms, were the first to react. They rushed forward and began to beat the robbers mercilessly.
This one-sided beating lasted for about three minutes. The robbers were left unrecognizable until Jackson informed the police. The police's arrival finally stopped the angry customers.
The task of calming everyone down was handled by another department. After the scene was cleared, Adaline approached Jackson angrily and asked in a hostile tone, "Mr. Jackson, please explain why you turned off the communication devices?"
"I didn't want your judgments to affect me," Jackson replied directly.
Adaline was about to explode in anger when she was interrupted by Violet.
"Officer Adaline, I must remind you that Jackson is not a serving member of the police force.
He has helped the police a great deal, and instead of being thankful, you are criticizing him. Is this appropriate?" Violet said, locking eyes with Adaline, as if sparks were flying in the air.
Director Eduardo, who was more experienced, tried to defuse the situation with a smile, "Regardless, thanks to Comrade Jackson's help, the robbery was resolved perfectly. Officer Adaline, as a leader, I must criticize you. Comrade Jackson lacks experience in this area, so we should be more tolerant. How can we expect him to meet the standards of the police force? After all, no hostages were harmed, which is the most important thing!" he concluded, feigning displeasure.
"Yes, Director, I understand," Adaline replied, her expression softening.
Just then, a junior police officer approached and said, "Director Eduardo, Officer Adaline, the hospital just called. The robber named Raiden who fell from the building died on the way there!"
Adaline was about to confront Jackson again, but Director Eduardo waved his hand and said, "That's not important. The key thing is that the hostages are safe."
"But..." Adaline was somewhat unwilling to let it go. Although it was a robbery, two robbers died and one was seriously injured, all because of Jackson.
The robbers, though despicable, had not committed any murders. Jackson casually killed two of the robbers, leading Adaline to feel it necessary to conduct an interrogation.
Moreover, there were too many inconsistencies at the scene. For instance, several silver needles were found in the barrels of the robbers' guns, blocking the springs. How did Jackson manage that?
"Officer Adaline, your logic is flawed," Jackson said, noticing Adaline's thoughts and sneered. "If I hadn't dealt with the robbers quickly, any of the hostages or myself could have been killed. You're troubling me for killing two robbers in self-defence. Is that wrong?"
"Self-defence? Is kicking someone off the fourth floor considered self-defence?" Adaline retorted, exploding with anger.
"Sorry, I'll be more careful next time," Jackson replied nonchalantly.
Amira's mood stabilized, and upon seeing Adaline wanting to trouble Jackson, she showed displeasure, "What's with you, police officer! You don't interrogate the robbers but dawdle here!
If it wasn't for Mr. Jackson, could your police have resolved this matter so smoothly? Why turn it around and blame Mr. Jackson for killing people? Don't they deserve it?"
Amira, usually lively, defended Jackson with a long, rapid speech, leaving Adaline speechless for a long time.
"Amira." Violet calmed her slightly agitated friend.
Seeing the atmosphere turn awkward, Director Eduardo coughed to break the ice, "Regardless, Comrade Jackson, we owe you a lot this time. On behalf of the Jimstantham City Police, I extend my heartfelt thanks."
"It's nothing. As long as someone doesn't keep troubling me about it." Jackson smiled.
Director Eduardo laughed and said, "You're a great hero. Even if you killed the robbers, it was forced by the situation, and they deserved it! I can assure you here, no one will trouble you, Jackson, afterwards!"
"With your words, Director Eduardo, I feel relieved." Jackson nodded.
As Jackson and his group prepared to leave, Director Eduardo quickly said, "Oh, the media journalists want to interview you..."
"Please decline for me. I prefer to handle this matter low-key, I don't want too many people knowing about my identity." Jackson waved his hand and walked away without looking back.
"He really is impressive." Watching Jackson's departing figure, Director Eduardo couldn't help but sigh.
"Director Eduardo, this Jackson is problematic!" Adaline bit her teeth.
"I know he's problematic, but what does that matter? As long as he hasn't committed any serious crimes, it's none of our concern. Adaline, you still need more experience." Director Eduardo shook his head.
"No, I will retrieve the surveillance footage to see what exactly happened!" Adaline stood up and headed to the mall's surveillance room.
…
At the mall entrance.
"Mr. Jackson..."
A chubby man in a suit blocked Jackson's path. It was Santino, the manager who had a conflict with Jackson and was later fired.
"It's you. What's up?" Jackson asked casually.
"No, nothing, I just... just wanted to thank you." Santino stammered.
Hearing this, Jackson was somewhat surprised, "Were you also on the fourth floor just now?"
"Yes, I hadn't managed to leave yet." Santino said, ashamedly lowering his head.
"Oh. Be careful next time." Jackson nodded indifferently, not paying much attention to Santino, and left the mall with Amira and Violet.
Watching Jackson leave, Santino finally let out a sigh of relief, filled with residual fear.
He had lost his job due to Jackson and originally thought of calling some guys from the streets to trouble Jackson. But before he could make the call, the robbery happened at the mall.
Having witnessed Jackson's entire process from entering to resolving the issue, Santino realized just how terrifying Jackson's capabilities were!
While feeling grateful to Jackson, Santino also secretly felt lucky that he hadn't troubled Jackson. With the skills Jackson displayed, no number of people would have made a difference!
