Hearing this, everyone was flabbergasted!
"Wow, he doesn't even care about the Chairman's invitation. This guy is really bold!"
Wade's face turned green with fear. At this moment, he only wanted to slap himself. Had he known that Chairman Apollo would personally come to invite Jackson to dinner, he wouldn't have dared to invite him first.
Manager Waylon's expression became even more rigid. Initially, when he received a call from Lady Violet, he was ordered to make things difficult for Jackson.
Lady Violet was the goddess of the entire company, so naturally, Waylon wouldn't be polite to Jackson. Not only did he create 750,000-dollar deal, but he also planned a series of troubles to ensure Jackson would back down.
But in a blink of an eye, Jackson became a distinguished guest of the Chairman. On one hand was Lady Violet, and on the other, her father, Chairman Apollo. Waylon was caught in the middle, not daring to offend either side.
"Mr. Wade? Which Mr. Wade? Since he is Jackson's friend, then he is also my friend, Apollo. Let's all go to eat together." Apollo said with a beaming smile, confident that anyone who could befriend Jackson must be of high calibre.
Apollo might not know who Mr. Wade was, but the staff of the business department certainly did. In an instant, all eyes turned to Wade.
At this point, Jackson, adding to the chaos, pointed at the already terrified Wade, "Look, this is Mr. Wade, the leader of the second team in the business department, my direct supervisor. Mr. Wade, the Chairman said you could join us for the meal."
Hearing this, Wade staggered, almost falling to the ground.
"No, no, I just remembered that tonight… Oh, tonight is my wedding anniversary, I need to go back and be with my wife." Wade stammered out an excuse. With years of experience, he knew when to advance and when to retreat. If he really went, he'd probably receive a termination letter the next day.
"Are you really not going to go?" Jackson asked mockingly.
"No, no, I won't go. Let's do it another time." Wade smiled forcibly, knowing that losing his job over a meal was not worth it.
"Since Leader Wade isn't going, Jackson, let's go. The car is already waiting downstairs." Apollo said with a smile.
Jackson nodded and, after greeting everyone in the business department, turned and left.
...
Apollo's car was a stretched version of the Red Flag, a symbol of status and position, something money alone couldn't buy.
Violet was playing with her phone. Seeing Jackson enter, she immediately turned away, out of sight, out of mind.
Jackson chuckled internally, guessing she felt guilty. In front of her father, he couldn't call her his casual fling. Opening Facebook, he sent another friend request to Violet.
In less than three seconds, Violet rejected the friend request.
Request.
Reject.
Request again.
Reject again.
Bored, Jackson kept sending friend requests until Violet, annoyed, finally accepted.
"Are you annoying or what!" Violet sent a message with an angry emoji.
"Hey casual partner, I'm giving you face by not exposing you in front of your father. Call me 'brother' quickly, or else you'll regret it!" Jackson replied indignantly.
"Get lost!" Violet's reply was brief and her attitude clear.
"I'm your benefactor, and this is how you repay me? Not only are you rude, but you're also trying to trip me up!" Thinking of this, Jackson gritted his teeth in anger.
"Humph, if you can't complete the 750,000-dollar deal within a week, you'll be kicked out of the business department. Then, I shall see how you can continue to stay with any dignity." Violet sent a message with a smug expression.
"How about this, if I complete the deal, you give me a kiss, deal?"
"In your dreams!"
"I'm bringing a 750,000-dollar deal to Griffith Group, and I can't even get a kiss in return?"
Upon reading this message, Violet pondered for a long time. Feeling she might have been too harsh, she hesitantly replied, "Fine, I agree to your terms!"
Violet, you've fallen for the trap!
Suppressing his laughter, Jackson couldn't help but look forward to seeing Violet's reaction when Sophia's deal arrived in Jimstantham City. Hahaha!
...
Hilton Hotel.
This was one of the most prestigious hotels in Jimstantham City, with an average expense of around 15,000 dollars. Only the very wealthy dared to dine here.
The Red Flag car stopped at the entrance, where a welcoming manager was already waiting.
"Mr. Apollo, Miss Violet, your private room is ready. It's the usual spot." The welcoming manager said while leading the way.
Entering the lobby, the welcoming manager stepped aside as a higher-ranking general manager took over the reception duties.
"Mr. Apollo, it's been a while since you last visited." The general manager of Hilton Hotel was an extremely attractive woman, with every movement and word exuding an indescribable charm and temptation.
Heidi, a prototypical seductive woman with always smiling eyes and a figure as tempting as a peach, was under thirty but already in charge of Hilton Hotel. Nobody believed she lacked influential backing.
"And who is this?" Heidi turned her gaze to Jackson after greeting Apollo and Violet.
"This is my prospective son-in-law, Jackson," Apollo introduced. Violet, who was about to object, was interrupted by a cough.
"Mr. Jackson, nice to meet you." Heidi expressed surprise. Becoming Violet's boyfriend and gaining Apollo's approval was no easy feat. She then extended her soft hand for a handshake with Jackson.
Jackson wasn't paying much attention initially, but to his surprise, Heidi's finger hooked his for a moment.
Jackson's heart skipped a beat. Was this an outright flirtation?
Just as he was about to respond, Heidi quickly withdrew her hand and led the way with a spring in her step.
Inside the private room.
They dined and chatted.
"Uncle Apollo, how did you handle the bug incident?" Jackson asked.
"We found out it was three cleaners whose entry times were suspicious. They've all been sent to the police station," Apollo replied with a grim face.
Jackson nodded and then took out a list from his bag.
"What's this?" Apollo hesitated as he took it.
"This is a list of suspects I've identified. Uncle Apollo, investigate them secretly and thoroughly. Once confirmed, don't be lenient with them," Jackson said solemnly.
Seeing those familiar names on the list, Apollo's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Alright, I'll handle it," Apollo said with a serious expression.
When it was time to pay the bill, Jackson sneakily glanced at it – the meal cost 10,000 dollars, which made him click his tongue at the high expense.
"Mr. Apollo, Miss Violet, we look forward to your next visit." Heidi escorted them to the door, shaking hands with each one. When it was Jackson's turn, she gave him a peculiar smile.
"Mr. Jackson, I'm delighted to have met you. I feel a special connection with you. I'm sure we'll meet again soon, won't we?" Heidi shook his hand with a slight smile.
"Of course, probably within the next few days," Jackson replied nonchalantly.
"Then I, will be waiting here for Mr. Jackson's grand arrival. I hope you won't break your promise," Heidi said seductively, then elegantly turned and left.
