Ruxley's body trembled as he quickly turned around to look behind him, only to see Sherise standing there, her face full of concern as she looked at him.
He hurriedly extinguished the cigarette and asked with a smile, "How is Auntie's health? Is she alright?"
Sherise replied, "The doctor said there's nothing seriously wrong. She just needs to rest and recuperate for a while."
"That's good to hear! Now you can rest easy."
Sherise nodded, then looked at Ruxley with concern and asked, "How is Carmelia? Is she okay now?"
On the way to the hospital, she had already heard about Carmelia from Ruxley. The thought of Carmelia, so young and having suffered so much, filled her heart with pity.
Ruxley's eyes softened as he smiled and said, "She's fine now. Just a few more days of treatment, and she'll be ready to leave the hospital."
"That's a relief!"
Sherise let out a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
After a moment's hesitation, she looked at Ruxley and asked, "What do you plan to do with Redlyn?"
Ruxley's expression turned cold, and he replied indifferently, "I will make him repent in endless despair and pain."
Sensing the murderous intent in Ruxley, Sherise quickly urged, "You mustn't act impulsively. The Fox family is very powerful, with many skilled fighters. Mr. Hodge was just one of them. If you take action against Redlyn, the Fox family won't let you off easily!"
Her face was full of worry. Although Ruxley was highly skilled, he was still just one person against a powerful family. She didn't want anything to happen to him.
Seeing the concern in Sherise's eyes, Ruxley smiled gently and said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine. I've been through a lot abroad and have some influence of my own. They can't touch me."
At that moment, Arius, who had appeared unnoticed, also spoke up, "Miss Potter, you can rest assured! The Fox family is nothing to worry about. Our Lord is—"
"Arius!"
Before Arius could finish his sentence, Ruxley shook his head and interrupted him, signaling not to reveal his identity.
He didn't want to drag Sherise into these conflicts. He wanted her to live a life free of worries. As for the storms ahead, he would face them alone.
Ruxley spoke tenderly to Sherise, "For now, stay in the hospital and take care of Auntie and Carmelia. Leave everything else to me. I'll handle it all."
Sherise looked at Ruxley, nodded, and with reddened eyes, said, "Just be careful. Carmelia and I will be here waiting for you to come back."
Ruxley smiled and said, "Don't worry. This time, I won't leave again!"
...
At the same time, in the northern suburbs of Eastern City, the atmosphere inside the luxurious Fox family estate was heavy with tension.
Although it was already late, the entire Fox family estate was still brightly lit.
Dozens of black-clad bodyguards patrolled the grounds, their vigilance extremely high.
In the central meeting hall of the estate, the atmosphere was even more oppressive.
A middle-aged man, dressed in a black suit with an imposing presence, sat at the head of the hall, exuding a chilling aura.
He was Redlyn's father, Haldis, the current head of the Fox family.
Seated on either side of Haldis were several elderly men with white hair.
These elders, with powerful auras and piercing gazes, were the Fox family's senior members, each a formidable martial artist.
Below these elders stood dozens of robust men, clad in black martial arts uniforms, exuding a fierce and intimidating presence. They were the core members of the Fox family.
"Gentlemen, I'm sure you all know by now that Redlyn was recently captured. What are your thoughts on this matter?"
Haldis asked in a somber tone, turning the jade thumb ring on his finger as he spoke.
The Fox family's Third Elder snorted coldly and immediately said, "Do we even need to think about this? Redlyn is the young master of the Fox family, and that brat named Ruxley dared to lay a hand on him? He's courting death!"
"The Third Elder is right! Since that kid is foolish enough to provoke our Fox family, we should teach him a lesson. I suggest we immediately mobilize all of Fox family's experts and tear that brat to pieces, to demonstrate our family's power!"
"Exactly! How dare a wet-behind-the-ears kid act so recklessly against our Fox family? If we don't kill him, where will our family's dignity be? How could we continue to stand tall in Eastern City?"
"Kill him! We must kill him!"
The other elders of the Fox family echoed these sentiments, their faces filled with murderous intent.
Ever since the Fox family became the dominant force in Eastern City, no one had dared to challenge their authority in the past decade.
Hearing the elders' words, Haldis' hand, which had been turning the jade thumb ring, paused. He slowly stood up and said coldly, "In that case, let's show that brat the strength of our Fox family!"
"For more than a decade, our Fox family has remained dormant, and some people have forgotten how powerful we are. This time, we will remind them that the prestige of the Fox family must never be violated!"
"Whoever dares to challenge us, dies!"
Upon hearing Haldis' domineering declaration, the members of the Fox family became excited, their faces flushing as they shouted with fervor:
"Kill!"
"Kill!"
"Kill!"
Haldis nodded in satisfaction and instructed Lennart, who was standing nearby, "Lennart, gather all of our family's forces immediately. I want all martial artists of the fourth grade and above to return to the family within one day!"
"Yes, big brother!"
Lennart nodded and quickly left the hall to begin contacting the Fox family members.
Haldis then turned to another elder beside him and instructed, "Second Elder, contact Sky Pavilion and have them investigate this Ruxley. I want to know exactly who he is!"
The Second Elder frowned slightly and said, "Patriarch, the people at Sky Pavilion must already know about this. If we contact them now, they'll likely seize the opportunity to raise their price!"
"No matter, our Fox family can afford a small expense like this!" Haldis said proudly, with his hands behind his back.
"Alright, I'll contact Sky Pavilion right away!"
The Second Elder nodded and left.
Haldis turned his gaze to another elder and instructed, "Sixth Elder, send a few people to secretly watch that brat Ruxley. Keep an eye on his every move, and don't let him escape!"
The Sixth Elder sneered and said, "Patriarch, don't worry! With me on the job, there's no way they'll get away!"
Haldis nodded, then looked at the rest of the Fox family members and said loudly, "As for the rest of you, go and prepare. Once everyone is assembled, we'll march out together. This time, we'll show the entire Eastern City the strength of our Fox family!"
"Yes!"
Everyone responded in unison and then left the hall to make their preparations.
After everyone had left, the Fox family's Great Elder approached Haldis with a worried expression and said, "Patriarch, I just reviewed the hotel's surveillance footage. That Ruxley and his subordinates are very strong. In particular, one of his subordinates defeated Mr. Hodge with a single move. His strength is definitely at the seventh-grade, or even higher. Although our Fox family has many people, we may not be able to take them down."
The Great Elder's expression was extremely serious.
Although the difference between a sixth-grade and a seventh-grade martial artist was just one level, the disparity in strength was enormous.
Even five peak sixth-grade martial artists combined might not be able to defeat a seventh-grade martial artist.
Hearing the Great Elder's concerns, Haldis smiled faintly, fiddling with the thumb ring on his hand, and said confidently, "There's no need to worry, Great Elder. It's just a mere seventh-grade martial artist. Leave him to me!"
"Patriarch, could it be that you've..."
The Great Elder was shocked and looked at Haldis in disbelief.
Haldis' lips curled into a slight smile as he nodded and said, "That's right! A month ago, I broke through to seventh-grade!"
After he finished speaking, a sharp light flashed in Haldis' eyes.
The next moment, a powerful aura erupted from him, forcing the Great Elder to retreat several steps.
"I didn't intend to reveal my strength so soon, but since that brat insists on seeking death, I'll oblige him!"
Haldis clasped his hands behind his back, his eyes gleaming with a fiery determination.
Although the Fox family had dominated Eastern City for years, Haldis had long been unsatisfied with just that. He wanted to lead the Fox family out of Eastern City and make it a renowned family throughout Sheyton Province, or even the entire Saultrouge Kingdom. That was why he had kept a low profile for so long!
But now that someone had challenged the Fox family's authority, he would take this opportunity to showcase the Fox family's power and prepare for their rise beyond Eastern City.
The Great Elder, excited, said, "With you taking action, Patriarch, our chances of success are much greater!"
Haldis looked at the Great Elder and smiled. "Even if I didn't get involved, there's nothing to worry about! My senior brother happens to be on a mission near Eastern City these days. I've already notified him to come and assist us."
"What! He is coming?"
The Great Elder's eyes lit up with joy upon hearing this, and he felt completely reassured.
Haldis' senior brother was none other than the Fox family's ancestor, Alessio's eldest disciple. His strength was unfathomable, and he had broken through to eighth-grade martial artist many years ago. He now held a high position in the Saultrouge Kingdom's Martial Department.
With him involved, no matter how powerful Ruxley was, he would have no chance of escaping death!
