"Come in."
Following Theoleon's command, the guards of Shura Palace at the entrance opened the door, allowing Earla and her two companions inside, then led them toward the study.
As they walked, Tarragon couldn't help but be surprised by the strict vigilance of the Shura Palace guards stationed throughout the villa.
From these guards, he could feel a heavy, murderous aura—something only seasoned soldiers who had experienced countless battles could possess.
Who were these people? Could they be soldiers from the Saultrouge Kingdom's Martial Department?
At that moment, Tarragon's heart inexplicably began to tense up.
Walking beside him, Vulson also felt the oppressive atmosphere in the villa. His entire body was tightly wound, his face pale, and he didn't even dare to breathe loudly.
Under the guidance of the Shura Palace guards, the three of them soon arrived at the study.
"My Lord, the three members of the Heulos family have arrived!"
One of the Shura Palace guards knocked lightly on the study door and reported loudly.
"Let them in."
The next moment, Ruxley's calm voice drifted out from inside.
"Yes!"
After receiving Ruxley's permission, the Shura Palace guard pushed open the door and, with a cold expression, said to the three Heulos family members, "The Lord is inside. You may enter."
"Thank you."
The three Heulos family members nodded, nervously walking into the room.
As soon as they entered, they saw a dozen black-clad men standing neatly on both sides of the study, all turning their gaze toward them.
In that instant, Tarragon and his companions felt a terrifying pressure bearing down on them, as if a mountain had suddenly crushed them, making it difficult to breathe.
Among them, Vulson, who had the weakest mental fortitude, directly collapsed onto the floor, nearly wetting his pants in fear.
Although Earla didn't lose her composure as badly as Vulson, her face was just as pale, and her body trembled uncontrollably.
As for Tarragon, he was completely stunned. He stared in shock at Igneel and the others in the study, his eyes filled with disbelief. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
The Heulos family's main business was in the hotel industry, with more than a dozen five-star hotels across the country.
As the patriarch of the Heulos family, Tarragon had spent many years managing the family's business and was very familiar with the major powers in various cities across the country.
He immediately recognized that these people in the study were all well-known figures in the major cities of Saultrouge Kingdom.
How could they be gathered here? Could it be that they were all under Ruxley's command?
The thought sent a wave of terror through Tarragon, and he couldn't help but look toward the main seat in the study.
There, a young man with an extraordinary presence sat, casually reading a report in his hands.
Behind him, Theoleon, Arius, and Lixen stood with their hands by their sides, their faces filled with respect.
Seeing this, Tarragon's jaw dropped, and he was completely stunned. He couldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams that everything Earla had said was true.
Theoleon, Arius, and Lixen —these three famous figures in Sheyton Province —were actually bowing down to this young man.
At that moment, Tarragon felt a jolt of electricity shoot down his spine, causing his entire body to tremble uncontrollably. He was completely numb with shock.
"You're the head of the Heulos family?"
Ruxley set down the report, picked up the cup on the table, and took a small sip. He looked at Tarragon and said calmly, "I heard you wanted to meet with me?"
Tarragon's body suddenly trembled, and with a loud thud, he fell to his knees, his face filled with terror as he stammered, "M-Mr. White, how dare I request an audience with you? I came here today specifically to apologize and beg for your forgiveness. Please, Mr. White, be merciful and spare the Heulos family this once!"
After speaking, Tarragon turned around and slapped Vulson hard across the face, furiously scolding him, "You worthless fool! What are you waiting for? Get on your knees and apologize to Mr. White!"
Vulson snapped out of his daze and immediately threw himself to the ground, trembling with fear as he slammed his head to the ground, pleading, "Mr. White, I was blind and foolish yesterday, and I deeply regret offending you. I apologize sincerely and beg for your mercy. Please spare my life!"
At this moment, any thoughts of revenge had completely vanished from Vulson's mind. He only wished for Ruxley to spare him so that he could leave this place as soon as possible.
Seeing that Ruxley remained silent, Earla hurriedly took out a bank card from her pocket and respectfully offered it to him:
"Mr. White, this card contains 15 million dollars. It's not much, but it represents a token of the Heulos family's sincerity. Please, Mr. White, show mercy and spare my brother this time!"
This bank card had been specially prepared by Earla the night before. Although 15 million dollars was nothing to Ruxley, it was meant to demonstrate the Heulos family's genuine intent to make amends.
Seeing Earla offer 15 million dollars as an apology, Tarragon did not feel any regret. Instead, he was filled with relief. He was thankful for Earla's foresight in preparing this gift. If Ruxley had realized they weren't truly sincere in their apology, they would have been doomed.
Ruxley looked at Earla, whose face was full of sincere regret, and said calmly, "Miss Heulos, you are indeed smart. Because of you, I'll let this matter go today. But I don't want there to be a next time. Even if you give me 15 billion dollars, it won't save him. Do you understand?"
Upon hearing Ruxley's words, Earla's eyes lit up with joy, and she quickly nodded, "I understand, I understand! You can rest assured, Mr. White, I promise this will never happen again!"
"Alright, you may leave now."
Ruxley waved his hand dismissively and picked up the report on the table, resuming his reading.
"Thank you, Mr. White. We won't disturb you any further!"
Feeling as if they had been granted a reprieve from a death sentence, Earla quickly placed the bank card on the table, pulled Vulson to his feet, and left the villa with Tarragon in tow.
As they stepped outside into the bright sunlight, all three felt as if they had been given a new lease on life.
Reflecting on the tense situation they had just escaped from, Tarragon couldn't help but feel a lingering fear. Pointing at Vulson, he furiously cursed, "From today on, you're staying at home, and you're not allowed to step out even once! If you do, I'll break your legs, do you hear me?"
In the past, Tarragon had turned a blind eye to Vulson's mischief, never taking it seriously. After all, with the Heulos family's wealth and influence, he was confident he could handle any trouble Vulson caused.
But who would have thought Vulson would be so reckless as to provoke someone as powerful as Ruxley?
Fortunately, Earla had met Ruxley at the airport. Otherwise, the Heulos family might have faced disaster this time.
Facing Tarragon's stern warning, Vulson's face turned pale, and he quickly nodded. He was so traumatized by Ruxley. Even without his father's warning, he wouldn't dare provoke anyone again.
