the Savoy family was one of the four most prominent families in the Saultrouge Kingdom, with a legacy that spanned over a thousand years. Renowned for its power and influence, the family was regarded as the elite of the elite.
Being a relative of the Savoys, Voragoshe was practically considered royalty in ancient times. In Shiphay City, no one dared to cross him.
"Boss Valois, do you have any good jade stones today? It's been a while since I've found something worthwhile!" Voragoshe asked eagerly as he stepped into Imperial Boutique.
Voragoshe had a deep passion for jade gambling and was a well-known figure in Shiphay City's jade gambling scene. He was a lavish spender, having dropped millions on jade stones over the years, making him one of the boutique's most valued customers.
"Mr. Capet, rest assured! I've got something special prepared just for you," said Corruptor, the store's owner, as he personally escorted Voragoshe to a corner of the jade gambling area. Pointing at a large jade stone, he said, "This one came straight from Myanmar. It's top-grade with a beautiful texture. What do you think?"
Voragoshe inspected the stone carefully, nodding in satisfaction. The stone was massive and of excellent quality—a rare find. Naturally, it came with a steep price of over six million.
Without hesitation, Voragoshe transferred the money and bought the jade stone. "Boss Valois, do you have any more good ones? Bring them all out. Price is no issue!" he asked confidently.
Corruptor shook his head. "Sorry, Mr. Capet, but this was the last exceptional piece. The others have already been sold."
Just then, Lyverius, who had been watching nearby, chimed in with a smile. "Mr. Capet, I know where you can find another good one."
"Really? Where?" Voragoshe asked, intrigued.
Lyverius pointed toward a man standing across the room. "That guy over there, Ruxley, just spent two million on a jade stone. The quality is fantastic. I wanted to buy it from him, but he refused."
Lyverius sighed regretfully, putting on a show of disappointment.
Voragoshe's eyes lit up. He trusted Lyverius's expertise in jade appraisal. If he said the stone was good, it had to be excellent.
Seeing Lyverius trying to steer Voragoshe toward Ruxley, Corruptor frowned. He didn't want any trouble. Both men were important customers—Ruxley, a mysterious young man with an obsidian gold card, and Voragoshe, a member of the powerful Savoy family.
"Mr. Capet," Corruptor interjected, "that stone has already been sold to that gentleman. I suggest you consider other options."
But Voragoshe waved off the concern dismissively. "No worries. I'll just offer him a bit more and buy it from him." With that, he strode confidently toward Ruxley.
Watching this unfold, Lyverius smirked subtly. Though he didn't dare provoke Ruxley himself, he knew that Voragoshe, with the backing of the Savoy family, wouldn't hesitate.
Voragoshe approached Ruxley, speaking boldly. "I heard you bought a jade stone for two million. I'll give you 2.1 million for it. Sell it to me."
Ruxley frowned, irritated by the intrusion. What was with people today? Why did they all think he was an easy target?
"It's not for sale," Ruxley replied coldly, not even bothering to look at Voragoshe.
Voragoshe raised an eyebrow, surprised at the rejection. Who would refuse an extra hundred thousand?
"2.5 million!" Voragoshe persisted.
Ruxley finally looked up, his gaze icy. "I told you, it's not for sale. Even if you offered 25 million, I still wouldn't sell."
Voragoshe's face darkened. It wasn't about the money. Ruxley just didn't consider him someone worth dealing with.
"Do you even know who you're talking to?!" one of Voragoshe's men shouted. "Our young master is from the Savoy family! Offending him means you won't survive in Shiphay City!"
"That's right! You should know better than to offend someone with connections like his. Hand over the jade stone before it's too late."
Ruxley's expression shifted slightly. the Savoy family?
He wasn't unfamiliar with the Savoys. As one of the Saultrouge Kingdom's four great families, the White family—Ruxley's former family—had close ties with them. He had even grown up with Lole, the Savoy family's eldest daughter.
Lole was no ordinary young woman. At 18, she had become the youngest warlord in the kingdom's martial department, earning the title of War Goddess for her unmatched skill. Three years ago, when Ruxley was betrayed and cast out by the White family, Lole had been on a mission abroad. When she returned and found out what had happened, she stormed into the White mansion, injuring Fennick, one of the family's most formidable warlords, despite resistance from others.
Then, Lole barged into the Fisher mansion, where she publicly humiliated Alitia, the so-called number one beauty of the capital, leaving her face bloodied in front of everyone.
Apart from Sherise, Lole was the only person in the Saultrouge Kingdom who truly cared about Ruxley.
The thought of Lole brought a faint smile to Ruxley's lips.
"What are you smiling at? Apologize to our young master right now!" Voragoshe's men demanded.
"Do you know who Mr. Capet's cousin is? Lole, the War Goddess herself! If you offend him, she won't let you off!"
Before they could finish, Fafnian, Ruxley's bodyguard, sent one of them flying with a single slap.
Ruxley slowly stood, his gaze cold as it locked on Voragoshe. "I'm not known for my patience. I usually act first and ask questions later when dealing with people like you. You should be grateful for your connection to Lole, or you'd already be lying on the floor."
"Now, back off. I don't care who you're related to. Keep pushing, and I'll put you on the ground myself."
As he spoke, a chilling, murderous aura surged from Ruxley, freezing Voragoshe in his tracks. His face paled as a wave of fear washed over him, and he stumbled backward, nearly collapsing in terror.
