"Four hundred million!"
In an instant, the entire auction hall fell into a dead silence.
Ruxley!
It was Ruxley again!
No one expected him to jump in at the last moment to bid against Lindon once more.
Was he here specifically to go against the Doyle family today?
Bang!
Lindon slapped the armrest of his chair and turned his head sharply. His eyes were fixed on Ruxley, filled with raging fury.
He had thought that after Ruxley won the previous twenty-some high-grade herbs, he wouldn't continue competing.
But to his dismay, Ruxley remained relentless, like a ghost that wouldn't go away.
Lindon's expression darkened as he glared at Ruxley and said coldly, "Kid, do you even have that much money? This isn't a street market. If you bid recklessly, it could cost you your life!"
Upon hearing this, the crowd turned their gaze to Ruxley, their faces similarly filled with doubt.
Lindon was right—could Ruxley truly afford to spend that much?
After all, including the previous high-grade herbs, Ruxley had already spent nearly a billion today.
That was no small amount.
Even for them, coming up with that much money all at once was no easy task.
The middle-aged auctioneer, Damian, also looked at Ruxley with a hint of suspicion.
Olympus Auction House was one of the largest auction houses in the Saultrouge Kingdom. If Ruxley was intentionally causing trouble here, they would never let him off lightly.
Faced with Lindon's skepticism, Ruxley merely smiled and gave Fafnian a subtle nod.
Understanding his intention, Fafnian got up and walked up to Damian, whispering something in his ear before pulling out an Obsidian Gold Card for him to see.
Upon seeing the card in Fafnian's hand, Damian's eyes widened in shock, and he glanced back at Ruxley, his gaze full of disbelief.
As the chief auctioneer of Olympus Auction House, he naturally recognized the Obsidian Gold Card—a status symbol for the nation's ultra-wealthy.
He never expected that someone as young as Ruxley would possess such a legendary card.
Who exactly was this man?
Suppressing the shock in his heart, Damian smiled at Ruxley and nodded before announcing loudly, "Ladies and gentlemen, this gentleman has bid four hundred million. Is there anyone willing to place a higher bid?"
A collective gasp erupted from the hall.
All eyes were now fixed on Ruxley in astonishment.
Although they didn't know what Fafnian had shown the auctioneer, judging by his reaction, Ruxley had evidently proven his financial strength to the auction house.
He really could afford such an astronomical sum.
This was unbelievable!
"Damn it!"
Lindon's gaze was locked on Ruxley, his fists clenched tightly, his face dark with anger.
Where did this guy come from?
How could he produce that much money without hesitation?
Could he be a rival planted by one of the Doyle family's competitors?
Damian glanced at Lindon's gloomy face and, seeing no further bids from him, tapped his gavel and announced, "Four hundred million, going once!"
"Four hundred million, going twice!"
"Four hundred million, going three times!"
"Sold! Congratulations to this gentleman for winning the Millenium Blood Ganoderma!"
As the auctioneer brought down the gavel, Ruxley's face broke into a faint smile.
After all the trouble, he had finally secured the Millenium Blood Ganoderma.
With the sale of this final herb, the auction officially concluded.
After the auction, Ruxley was led by the staff of Olympus Auction House to the backstage area, where he paid the full amount and successfully collected all the high-grade medicinal herbs.
Just as Ruxley was about to leave the Kyushu Hotel to begin refining the herbs, Lindon suddenly blocked his way at the exit of the auction hall, accompanied by his entourage.
"Kid, you've got guts! How dare you compete with Mr. Doyle for an item!"
"Yeah, how dare you have the audacity to go against Mr. Doyle? You must have a death wish!"
"Hand over those herbs now!"
Lindon's followers glared at Ruxley menacingly.
Ruxley raised an eyebrow slightly and said calmly, "And what if I refuse?"
"Then you can forget about leaving Shiphay City alive!"
Lindon stepped forward, standing face to face with Ruxley. "Kid, no one in Shiphay City has ever dared compete with the Doyle family. If you're smart, hand over those high-grade herbs now, and our Doyle family will buy them back at half the price. Otherwise, don't blame us for being ruthless!"
Every word dripped with the threat of violence.
"Oh, is that so?"
Ruxley gave Lindon a faint look, leisurely straightening his sleeves. "Well then, I'd like to see just how ruthless your Doyle family can be."
Lindon's face turned even darker.
He never expected Ruxley to be so arrogant, showing no regard for the Doyle family at all.
"Kid, you've got guts! I'll make sure you pay a heavy price for what you've just said today!"
Lindon cast a deep, lingering look at Ruxley before turning to leave the auction hall.
The area was too crowded with onlookers, making it inconvenient for him to deal with Ruxley directly. But as soon as Ruxley left the Kyushu Hotel, he would make sure Ruxley understood the consequences of crossing the Doyle family.
"Hold on."
At that moment, Ruxley suddenly called out to Lindon.
Lindon stopped and turned, sneering, "What, are you afraid now?"
"Afraid?"
Ruxley smiled faintly. "Fear is something I've never experienced in my life."
"Then why did you call me back?"
Lindon's face grew colder.
Ruxley looked at Lindon in surprise. "Did you think you could just walk away after threatening me?"
"Huh?"
Lindon was stunned at first, then his face contorted with disbelief. "What, do you expect me to apologize to you?"
"Isn't that what should happen?" Ruxley replied matter-of-factly.
"Haha!"
Lindon burst into laughter as if he had just heard the most ridiculous joke.
"Kid, are you still dreaming?"
Lindon's face was full of mockery as he looked at Ruxley.
He hadn't even started making trouble for Ruxley yet, and Ruxley dared ask for an apology?
He must be out of his mind.
"I got it."
Ruxley nodded, a bright smile appearing on his face as he lifted his leg and walked toward Lindon.
"Hey, kid, what are you trying to do? Stop right there!" one of Lindon's henchmen shouted, stepping forward to block Ruxley.
With a casual wave of Ruxley's hand, the follower was sent flying, crashing heavily onto the ground and unable to get up again.
"What... what are you trying to do?" Lindon stammered, a hint of panic flashing across his face as he instinctively backed away.
But it was too late.
Ruxley's figure blurred, and in an instant, he was standing right next to Lindon. With a swift motion, he grabbed Lindon by the collar, lifting him off the ground.
"Since you refuse to apologize, I'll do it myself," Ruxley said coldly.
With that, a chilling glint flashed in Ruxley's eyes as he exerted his strength, hurling Lindon through the air.
Bang!
With a resounding crash, Lindon's body slammed into a wall, much like a sandbag.
The tremendous impact caused Lindon to spit out a mouthful of blood as he crumpled to the floor, writhing in pain.
