Sean's villa.
The curtains of black velvet were wide open, and moonlight poured in through the large floor-to-ceiling panes. Outside the window was the bustling night scene of B City.
Susanna loved this place and has chosen it for every tryst since Sean brought her here.
The ambiguous smell in the bedroom was strong. When Susanna and Sean had just entered the door at night, they had sex in the living room. Then they went to the bedroom to continue.
Sean picked up a bathrobe and put it on, and then he sat on the bed and lit a cigarette. Soon the smell of cigarettes filled the bedroom.
The moon shone like water, and his face was expressionless.
Susanna put her arms around Sean's shoulders and looked straight at the handsome man in front of her.
"Sean, what's the matter?"
After they entered the door, Sean hadn't said anything to her in addition to his dirty words when they were having sex. An indifferent face showed that he was not in a good mood.
Sean tilted his head slightly to make eye contact with Susanna. Under the moonlight, her eyes were as bright as jade. When she smiled, there seemed to be a kind of brilliance, which was surprisingly similar to the eyes in memory.
He was a little preoccupied. Then he smoked and threw the cigarette butt in the ashtray next to him.
"Don't bother May again." By the time he recovered himself, the words had blurted out.
His voice was low and grim.
Susanna thought she had heard it wrong, but Sean's face was so indifferent that a hint of jealousy flashed in her eyes, "Sean... I felt misunderstood. May took the credit for the Sunny Bay project all by herself, so I was unconvinced. I was in charge of the project with her, and I didn't expect that May would do something like that..."
"You worked with her on this project? Have you ever worked on the design?"
As Susanna continued to shirk her responsibilities, Sean frowned. He stood up and felt inexplicably irritable, making him unable to stay here for a moment.
Susanna thought he was leaving and hugged him. "Sean, I have been with you recently, so I don't have much time on that project. And although I did not participate in the design, I have participated in the whole progress."
She looked aggrieved, and her eyes turned red.
Sean saw her red eyes, frowned, and brushed Susanna's hand away. "Don't contact me again in the future. If you like this villa so much, I'll give it to you."
He put on his clothes, leaving Susanna with a brutal view of his back.
...
May had several dreams that night, but she could not remember them all.
She could remember that she saw her mother in her dream, who had not been in her dream for a long time. Her mother looked kind and touched her head. She said to her, "May, I want to see you become happy.
May burst into tears. "Mom, can you come back? I miss you so much."
"You have grown up, and there will be a man take care of you, you will live happily."
Happy?
Ever since she married Sean, the word had seemed to have gone away from her.
She thought Sean was the man who would give her happiness, but she had never woke up in the nightmares of these two years.
She wanted to say something to her mother, but the gentle and beautiful woman went away after a white light.
May struggled violently.
She could feel whispers around her. She could hear footsteps coming in deliberately low voices. She knew that it was only a dream. Still, she didn't want to wake up.
She missed her mother.
Her body was uncomfortably hot, and she moaned in a low voice.
Suddenly she seemed to be embraced in a cold embrace.
Someone gently patted her on the back. The rhythm of the beat made her want to cry.
