Joseph Huo explained: "I think you should be very clear about the designer's responsibility; being absent at the important meeting is not allowed. So, It's just a light punishment for your fault."
May turned her back to Joseph and bit her lips tightly.
"I never thought about being absent from the meeting," May looked at the man and explained. Joseph was a head taller than her. She could only see his cold eyes. That arrogant and indifference were the same as Sean Chu.
May felt heartbroken, so she closed her eyes, "If I told you that it was Susanna who expelled me from the meeting, will you believe in me?"
The pain in her throat made her uncomfortable, but the most awkward feeling was waiting. May's eyes closed for anger and grievances. It seemed that she didn't believe she could hear the pleasant answer from Joseph.
Joseph quietly stared at May's delicate face. Her eyelashes were trembling like a butterfly, and his heart started to beat faster, he said lowly: " I believe in you. "
"You... believe in me? " May opened her eyes at once. Her eyes were full of surprise and disbelief.
Joseph nodded, "Sure."
"Why? I mean because..." May said huskily, and her nose suddenly became sour, she was about to cry.
Sean Chu didn't trust her because he didn't want to, so no matter what she said, he wouldn't believe it. She had thought that Joseph was the same as Sean, so it was reasonable that he wouldn't believe her too.
But the two guys were different!
Reminding of her unkindly complaining to him on the phone just now, May felt guilty, "I'm sorry President Huo, I was just...too impulsive... "
After all, it was a reality that she did not attend the meeting. Joseph's blame was reasonable. But she acted rudely to him.
May took a step forward, but suddenly fell, then her face turned pale, and her body crooked.
The man's expression changed slightly. Joseph stretched out his hand and took May into his arms without thinking too much. Then he looked at her feet.
He saw blood on her white feet. She got wounded during running along the road.
May pretended to push Joseph away indifferently, tired to keep a little distance from him, she waved her head, " It's not hurt. Not a big deal, okay? It's just this pair of new shoes not fit in me. "
She was stepping forward as if she was not affected by bleeding. Suddenly, she felt a dominant strength-- the man behind her hugged up.
May felt startled, asking Joseph to put her down. Still, the man said lightly: "You don't have to be so polite to me. Let me do something as a gentleman do."
May was a little embarrassed, though gave in at last.
"Where are we going? "
Joseph paused, seeming to be satisfied with her obedience, the corner of his mouth bent slightly, "Where do you want to go? "
His eyes were black and bright, and it was like a vast starry sky inside his eyes. May didn't dare to stare at Joseph. So she looked away, coughed, and whispered, "It's time for me to work... "
Joseph seemed to find her thoughts and raised an eyebrow, "Fine, Let me send you to your work."
Joseph took her to his car. She opened the door of the co-pilot seat in a sullen mood and heard his words: " Actually, Miss Susanna did not finish the meeting and left away. I wonder that if you can go back and join the meeting again?"
May completely stunned! She lowered her voice, "Really? Thank you, President Huo!" Her low voice can be heard only by Joseph, he glanced at her shining smile, suddenly made up his mind that he won't let her go in his life.
Joseph put May carefully on the passenger seat, then closed the door and got into the silver-gray Bentley Mulsanne, soon they left.
A black Lamborghini drove to the place where Joseph had just stopped soon after they left.
Since May ran out of the Company, Sean was upset. When he came to reality, he had been on the road searing for her. After several no-answer calls from May, Sean was even more irritable. He didn't know what was wrong with him.
His original demotion was to punish her deliberately. But his heart inexplicably softened when he saw her red eyes and stubborn look.
Sean could no longer speak harsh words to her. Instead, he felt guilty for punishing her three-month salary. As to Susanna, he even wanted to expel her out of the city at the moment!
Another call was made, the beep mechanical voice said that the phone had been switched off. Sean thumped on the steering wheel fiercely, and his face was extremely gloomy.
...
Bentley Mulsanne stopped once on the halfway. During this period, Joseph went to the pharmacy to buy disinfection potions and band-aids. When he returned, May was playing her mobile phone.
"Someone called? " Joseph glanced quietly at the phone screen and captured the word " Sean" accurately. Jealousy appeared on his face.
May didn't notice Joseph's expression; her hands holding the phone was a little stiff. She seemed to be hesitant for a long time. Then she turned off the phone and shook her head to Joseph: "No."
There was a pair of spare women's slippers in Joseph's car. It was coincidently suitable for May.
May felt her feet comfortable in the slippers, she thanked Joseph again, and he just smiled politely and answered: "Glad you like it."
