Belle was in the hospital for three days.
For the first two days, she had a fever. Only when Oliver or Echo came to see her, did she get up and deal with them. Most of the time, she was faint and fell in asleep. She had recovered from her illness, but her complexion did not look good. She also wanted to avoid certain people, so she endured an extra day in the hospital.
"That woman, she's so defensive." When Oliver reported to Ethan about his task, Oliver indifferently made a comment.
The assistant was reporting to Ethan about the progress of his work. After hearing Oliver's words, Ethan asked the assistant to go out first, while he was still holding the pen in his finger. "What's going on?"
"What else could it be? I've spent a lot of effort these days, trying to know something from her, but even if she was dazed by fever, she was very guarded. She's Belle after all, and even though she's down now, she's still smart, while she hasn't changed a bit."
Oliver seemed to be impressed, saying. "And how she feels about you... Well, I'll tell you what you look like to her. You're like a monster to her, because she's so terrified at the mere mention of your name. Ethan, I think she's suffered for the last few years, no less than she suffered in prison."
Ethan glanced at him coldly, and then said dryly with his thin lips. "She chose it."
"Are you really going to leave her in the Underground City then?"
Even if no one else knew, Oliver knew very well that the Underground City was just a small, and almost negligible estate owned by Ethan, while the future of Belle was just determined by several words from Ethan.
After all, they were in a relationship once, weren't they...
"The other day the doctor told me that May would wake up soon. " Ethan looked out the window, staring aimlessly at a point, and he looked thoughtful, saying. "May is the best person to deal with her."
Oliver choked, looking shocked.

When Echo brought fruit to the ward, she saw Belle slowly folding the quilt with a bag of medicine on the table next to Belle, and the sight of Belle's thin back made her feel sad. These days, as Echo came to the hospital every day, Echo had a new understanding of this seemingly stubborn and poor girl after they got familiar with each other
"Sister Echo, here you are." When Belle heard the footsteps, Belle turned, calling to her.
Echo stepped forward, saying, "What are you doing? Didn't I tell you to rest for a few more days?"
"No, My fever is gone, so I should get back to work." Belle folded the bed, grabbed the medicine bag, shook her head, and refused.
Echo thought of something. "But the doctor still wants you to have a thorough physical examination." Even she could see how bad Belle's health was, not to mention the doctor. It's always good to have a thorough physical examination.
That's what Belle was afraid of.
"I don't need to, because I'm really fine now. You see I'm fine now, so I don't need to do any physical tests." She obstinately refused to go, and Echo could do nothing about it. In the end, Echo could only say. "That... Ethan is out there. Do you want to see him?" Belle was so shaken that she almost changed her mind and went back to her room. But when she thought of the fruit and nutritious food he had sent to her so frequently these days, she decided to go outside to see him, even though she was so scared that her scalp tingled.
Ethan's right outside the hospital.
As for Zhong Xin Hospital, he came here almost once a month, because this was where May lived, while in the past five years, he has come here once a month unless he has been away from home.
However, it was only once a month.
He didn't know how many times he'd been here this month, at least a dozen times. He spent most of his time outside the hospital and didn't go in. Ethan didn't know why he's here, as it was only after he heard from Oliver that she might be discharged from hospital today that he came here in spite of himself as he drove by.
And then what?
He didn't seem to know what to do afterward.
Belle saw Ethan leaning against a pure black Maybach from a distance. His hands were in his pants pockets, he was tall and slim, and the outline of his face was profound, making him look firm and hard. He had overarching eyebrows, his face looked cold, and he had a cold feeling that kept everyone away.
Several beams of sunlight slanted down over his head, while the whole of his face looked placid, except for the high-spirited look in his ink-stained eyes. The wind brushed his hair and he compressed his thin lips into a straight line, making him look more mysterious.
From time to time, young women passing by looked at him and whispered to their companions. The young faces of the young women were full of shyness and admiration, but no one dared to come within five steps of him, while still less to approach him, asking for his phone number.
Belle was in a trance because she seemed to see what Ethan looked like years ago.
He had never changed his coldness, his gloom, and his inhumanity. From the time they met as teenagers, Ethan was adored by countless girls, but there was only one girl who dared to pursue him and pester him all the time.
Unfortunately, the girl, who once courageously pursued love, no longer existed.
As for the kiss they had in the ward three days before, Belle thought of it as a dream. All her previous feelings for him had been a dream, and now they were gone, as she would never again be smug about one little response he made to her.
Ethan didn't expect to be able to wait for her to come out, while he saw from a distance that she was still wearing her old dirty clothes, standing in the hot sun. He noticed that she seemed to have been looking at him, and then he remembered what Oliver had said to him, as he was like a monster in her heart.
So, was she standing there afraid to come over?
He pulled out his right hand, opened the car door, and sat in, resting his hands on the two-way tray without driving. His black eyes looked out of the window, while Belle was acutely aware of his sight and was hesitating to go ahead when Echo pushed her from behind, saying, "Ethan is waiting for you in the car, and you can ask him to take you back."
"Sister Echo, I..." She didn't want that.
Echo put her hand on her forehead, saying, "I can't help you, and you just go ahead. With someone like Ethan, you just have to listen to him."
Of course, Belle didn't expect Echo to help her. At most, Belle was struggling in her heart for a moment, and then she walked towards Maybach. She went to the back seat and was about to open the car door when his slender and jointed fingers tapped on the window next to the passenger seat. Although he was silent, his meaning was obvious.
Belle opened the car door next to the passenger seat, sat in, looked at him sheepishly, and said, "Good morning, Mr. Mo."
Mr. Mo, as he heard her say it to him, it suddenly struck him as jarring.
Ethan inexplicably felt angry, so before he could wait for her to sit down, he slammed his foot on the accelerator, while the car shot away like an arrow. Belle was taken aback, and before she could sit still, she swung backward, hitting the seat belt button on the back of her head with sharp pain. She gritted her teeth, sat up hurriedly in her seat, and immediately fastened her seat belt.
