Jayne Lin was hopeless in the company, but seeing Chase Lu and Cassie talking and smiling at home, she felt warm.
Indeed, the home was the harbor that protected the floating ship from the heavy waves.
“Mom, my dad bought this dress for me yesterday. Is this beautiful?” Cassie rushed to Jayne.
“Beautiful. My princess is the most beautiful whatever you wear.” Jayne hugged Cassie.
“Dad bought so many for me. Dad said I can change every day.” Cassie said.
Jayne nodded, but when she saw the brand of this dress, she looked at Chase.
“Don’t buy the knockoffs anymore. People will mock Cassie.” Jayne thought it was a knockoff because Chase certainly couldn’t afford it.
“Knockoff?” Chase smiled but didn’t explain. No matter how much he said, Jayne wouldn’t believe it.
“Well, I know,” Chase said.
“What gift do you intend to send to my father?” Jayne asked.
“Doesn’t he like drinking wine? A phosphorescent jade cup should be appropriate.” Chase answered.
“A phosphorescent jade cup? What are you talking about?” Jayne felt angry.
The phosphorescent jade cup was invaluable. Even if he had the money, he couldn’t find the phosphorescent jade cup.
What made Jayne feel angry was that Chase had changed recently.
He became a person of talking big.
“I’m not lying. I know a place where a pair of phosphorescent jade cups is for sale.” Chase explained.
“Stop, I know you’re wide-connected to know everything, OK?” Jayne didn’t want to argue with Chase in front of Cassie.
“My father likes antiques, so let’s buy an antique.” Jayne went out with Cassie.
Chase shrugged. He knew Jayne wouldn’t believe him.
“I’ve made the big deal with Green City Group and gotten a bonus of more than 60,000.” In the car, Jayne shared her joys with Chase to ease the atmosphere.
“Congratulations.” Chase smiled.
“Do you? I don’t feel your sincerity. Chase, to be honest, do you also doubt I’ve agreed Hanson’s dirty request?” Jayne stared at Chase. She could accept others’ rumors, but she couldn’t accept her husband’s doubts.
“How can it be? You’re my wife, so I will never doubt you. I’ just guessing that you must get a promotion for this.” Chase explained. He just helped Jayne discuss with Hanson, so he couldn’t be as excited as Jayne expected.
“How do you know that? Mr. Shawn really promoted me to be the sales department supervisor.” Jayne looked excited.
“Congratulations. I guess that you’ll get more promotion later.” Chase was wiser to be much pleasant this time.
“Do you think you’re the boss who can promote me at his will?” Though she was set up by Milne Fan, she looked good.
Chase was about to say that he was indeed the boss.
But he didn’t say it out.
“It’s impossible to get promotion again.” Thinking of the pressures she had now, Jayne became upset again.
“What’s wrong?” Chase felt something wrong.
“It’s all because of you.” Jayne looked hopeless.
“Because of me?” Chase was confused.
“Because of your offense, Milne set me up. I’ve just been promoted today, but Milne ordered me to do an impossible task.” Jayne was gloomy.
“An impossible task?” Chase pretended not to know about it.
“Do you know the villa area in Dragon Lake?” Jayne asked.
Chase nodded. Everyone should know about the project from Josh Group.
“Milne Fan ordered me to try that project, and the new president sided with him. Milne just wants me to waste time in such an impossible task and be shamed in front of colleagues.” Jayne said with anger.
“It’s an opportunity. I can help you.” Chase couldn’t help offering help.
It was easy for Chase to ask John Lu to buy the electronic devices from Duncan Electronics.
If Jayne could make this contract, she would be accepted with both reputation and abilities. Then, she would be able to replace Milne Fan to be the sales department manager.
“Did you said you can help me?”
Jayne sneered. If Cassie were not here, she would have to mock Chase without mercy.
Though now she didn’t mock, her eyes were full of disappointment.
He talked big again, Jayne thought.
Chase was speechless. Since Jayne couldn’t believe him, he had nothing more to talk about.
Then they didn’t speak any more until they got to the antique shop.
