“Are you freaking kidding me? The booth is reserved for them? In which way do they look like a couple who are qualified to sit here? You want us to go to the normal seats? Forget it!”
Daisy Chen was so angry. Her arms were crossed in front of her chest and it seemed she would give in under no circumstances.
This would be negotiable if it was some people else, but to ask her to give the booths to Victor and Dinah would be as absurd as to ask her to stop eating food.
“Ms, you have no right to occupy these booths. You will be blacklisted and we will no longer take your orders in the future if you continue to do so.” The waiter, dressed in a vest, was sweating profusely.
It was so difficult for him. He would pay a great price because he messed up the seats, and if he couldn’t solve it, he would surly be dismissed.
He couldn’t afford to offend people who could afford the booths. He didn’t expect that man was just playing to be poor...... And he would be so damned if the customer wouldn’t let it go.
Now he could only try his best to remedy the situation and pray that the customers could be more generous and let go of the past.
“Daisy....Maybe....” Carl said, smiling awkwardly.
“No way! We have money, and we can afford it no matter how much it will cost. And we will never give up the booths.”
“Yes. How much more should we pay?” Carl asked, stony-faced.
“It’s not about money. First, we can not change the seats booked by the customers. Second, All five booths in White Swan Music Restaurant can only be booked after the customers prove their identity first.”
“You walked in and you took the seats directly, which made me believe that you know the rules here.....” The waiter said, feeling embarrassed.
“Identity proof? What kind of identity can they possibly have? Absurd!” Daisy got so angry that she stood up and wanted to go to Victor, but the security stopped her.
“Ms, please cooperate with us. Go to your seats, or you have to leave White Swan.” The waiter said it unwillingly.
He had no choice. He had to offend one side and he couldn’t displease Victor who booked the booth.
“Forget about it Daisy. Let’s just change to other seats and let them have the booths. Next time I’ll book the booths.” Carl pulled Daisy slightly and he just couldn’t sit in the booths comfortably when so many people are staring at them in a judgemental way.
Daisy, instead, was fearless. But she was afraid to be blacklisted by White Swan. She would become a laughing stock to her friends if this happened.
They collected their stuff, slunk to another table by the door.
Seeing the waiter had cleaned the booth they ordered, Victor said to Dinah : “Okay, let’s go.”
“Will they be mad at us? I mean my sister and Carl.” Dinah was worried and she was kind of reluctant to go to the booth.
“I don’t care if they do. Because they are our booths anyway, and they took the wrong seats.”Victor spread his hands.
They walked to the booths they booked, and the waiter bowed and apologized: “I’m so sorry for the trouble we caused. We will rearrange the show and we will give you a White Swan Red Wine as a gift.”
The waiter walked away and a minute later, the beautiful pianist and the violinist reappeared, and they played a beautiful melody and an atmosphere of romance dominated the place. A warm blush rushed to Dinah’s cheeks and she ate her cake bit by bit.
She felt happy. She didn’t know how much money Victor spent for this but she was determined to compensate him when she got money.
Because it was very difficult for Victor to get the money.
Daisy cast a secret and icy cold glance towards them from the normal table by the door.
“Crazy girl! How dare she to hide so much money and take him to a good place like this. Because it costs at least ten thousand dollars to book the booth and they also had the performance and alcohol and so on. So they spent at least twenty or thirty thousand dollars this time. How much money did she earn from Pearl Group?” Daisy thought to herself.
Daisy could not be more confused and she was determined to tell her parents about it and make her sister tell them where did she get all the money.
Dinah was also puzzled. She knew it had been three tough years for Victor and the money he managed to save was all spent for his sister. So where did he get the extra money?
“Eat your dinner. I know what you are thinking. Don’t worry for me because I have enough money.” A smile spread across his face when he saw the girl looking up at him with a concerned expression every time she took a bite.
“Anyway, you can’t be this extravagant in the future. You need to save some money because you need to buy a house and survive in this city.” Daisy said.
Speaking of the house, he remembered that Xi Ming once promised to buy a villa for him from an auction activity, and he wondered how everything went.
“I will have a house soon. Everything will turn around.”
“Nonsense. Eat your food.” Dinah rolled her eyes.
House is not something that comes easily. In Yunhai City, the house price is not as expensive as it is in some mega cities, but still, it costs at least ten thousand or even twenty thousand dollars for every square meter. And each house costs at least two million dollars, and average people can hardly afford this.
Ten minutes later, Daisy and Carl left first because it bugged her to see that her silly sister having dinner with the man she hated the most at that grand corner.
“Oh right Victor, I have something to tell you. I’m the project manager of Chen Family and Pearl Group and my responsibility is to drive up the sales of the offline medicine in Jiangan District. You can do it with me. It is very profitable.” Dinah remembered suddenly that she could take Victor with her.
“That sounds good.” Victor smiled.
Victor enjoyed this innocent feeling. Would this happen if Dinah knew he was rich?
They went to a park after finishing their meal.
“ It is your birthday three days later. You haven’t told me what do you want for gift. You are turning eighteen, and it is must a big deal for your family, right?” They sat side by side. Victor leaned against a tree with a blade of grass holding in his mouth.’
Dinah shook her head, looking rather down, and said: “They didn’t mention it.”
“Really? Then you should let me conduct your rite of passage.” Victor smiled at her, his skin was glowing under the sun.
“I don’t want a rite of passage. I just want to be with someone on my birthday. Me and my sister have the same birthday and my family is with my sister every single year.” Dinah was playing with her fingers.
Victor knew that. Daisy was rather tactful at home so she was favored by the old lady. Every their birthday is celebrated at home, Daisy gets all the attention and Dinah is always snubbed.
This girl must felt very sad. And so Victor was determined to give her a rite of passage that is bigger and grander than all the others’.
They spent a hour at the park.
At night Dinah got a call from her mother Yuanlan Bai and she was asked to go back. She was very nervous because she was afraid to meet her sister.
She opened the door carefully and found three people staring at her.
“Kneel down in front of me!” Yulan yelled coldly.
“How dare you to hide money from me and ask Victor out for dinner. How come I don’t even know since when did you become so able?” Yulan was holding a belt.
“No....It’s not like that. Victor paid for it and I don’t have any money.” Dinah was so fearful that her complexion was pale, and her legs were shaking.
