Chapter 18 You Are the Star Tonight

Dinah froze when Ting Zhong finished. She had never experienced anything quite like this before. Ting Zhong continued: “ But since today is your birthday, I decide to give you a break. You have one day to think this through and by this time tomorrow, I want to know your answer.” Then she patted on Dinah’s shoulder and left the room. And Dinah was still in a state of shock. She was way too careless, and she didn’t expect Ting Zhong would do something this horrible. And she didn’t find it necessary to keep a wary eye on people near her, but this project was just so profitable that people began to debase themselves and strip themselves of dignity. A huge banner was draped down form the observatory and on it some characters were written: “Happy birthday to Ms Chen, and best wishes to everyone.” On the observatory there were some hot balloons, and cheery blossoms were scattered from them, and it looked like it was raining flowers. You could hardly find another place that is equally extravagant in the whole Yunhai City. It was obvious Xi Ming put a lot of efforts into this party. Victor had arrived for a long time, and after the preparation work was done, he began to wait for Dinah expectantly. But instead of Dinah, it was Daisy who showed up. Daisy was very attractive that day. She was dressed in a low-cut blouse, and her shoes were studded with diamonds. She also held an expensive Chanel handbag. She was followed by her roommates, Mei Liu and Jane Wu. Although Daisy was the star that night but Mei Liu and Jane were also dressed up to the nines. Their faces were glowing and they walked into the hall as if they were princesses. Why would he choose to tell me this through the phone instead of telling me face to face.” Daisy glanced at Jane. “If I were Carl, I would not call. I would tell her face to face and propose to her.” Daisy found herself in a sweet dream. “Daisy, if Carl really proposes tonight, will you marry him?” Jane asked. “Of course. Or who else should I marry? Victor? The pathetic loser?” Daisy said without even thinking. When she was talking about Victor, she saw him. “Victor? !” “Damn it! Why are you everywhere? Do you even have an ounce of self-esteem? I tell you, my boyfriend booked the whole place, so I ask you to leave here and don’t show up again.” Daisy was angry. Diamond ring?” Daisy froze but a smile reappeared on her face quickly. “Carl, you are so funny. The diamond means nothing when it is compared to the Golden Palace on the Cloud. You want to give me double surprises? That’s so nice. I love you!” “The Golden Palace on the Cloud? Double surprises?” Carl didn’t know what Daisy was talking about because the diamond ring was the only surprise he prepared for her and he didn’t book the Golden Palace on the Cloud at all !
