Bean knew Dora well, and since her mother was her only weakness, she couldn't wait to look for her mother after her mother has been missing for twenty-four hours.
In the morning, Dora would naturally go to Arno to talk about cooperation if he threatened Dora with her mother.
Freya sat to the side, so she knew this good news too, but although she had a smile on her face, she felt uneasy in her heart for some reason.
Would it go as smoothly as her father thought?
Just then the doorbell rang, and Bean was dazed, wondering that if it was Dora, who had come to the house so late at night.
With that in mind, Bean stood up and opened the door, but when he saw two police officers standing outside, he froze.
"Officers, you are..."
Dora followed the two police officers while she looked at Bean coldly.
One of the police officers said. "Mr. Bush, we have found that you have taken a patient from the hospital illegally, so please return the patient immediately, or we will detain you."
When the police officer finished speaking, Bean's face changed.
He had guessed that Dora would call the police, but he never expected that the police would immediately investigate this matter because it had not been twenty-four hours since her mother had been lost.
Why did the police go straight to him? Could it be because Larkin's plan had failed? He's such a bum.
Bean looked so bad that he smiled awkwardly.
"Officer, there is a misunderstanding, as I just want to send my ex-wife to a better place for treatment, but I didn't communicate with Dora in advance, so I'm sorry for the trouble."
Dora felt only disgust when she looked at Bean's face, and it was clear that he had deliberately tried to threaten her with her mother, but now he told the police that he was trying to take better care of her mother.
"It's all my fault, Dora, and you tell the police to leave since it's so late..."
Bean looked at Dora while his eyes were full of menace as his eyes seemed to say to her: If you don't let the police leave, you don't blame me for hurting your mother!
With the police here, how could Dora be afraid of what Bean was doing to her mother?
A trace of sarcasm flickered in her eyes as she spoke coldly. "My mother has nothing to do with you, and I can take care of her myself, so I don't want to trouble you, Mr. Bush. After all, you're only her ex-husband."
Bean was livid at what she said, but the police were there, so he couldn't scold her.
The police stared at Bean, urging him to say where Judy was.
Bean gritted his teeth, and there was a flicker of resentment in his eyes, but he knew he couldn't muddle through in a situation like this.
Finally, Bean gave them an address, the address of a small clinic in Jin City.
"Oh, so you sent my mother here to take better care of my mother?"
Dora looked at Bean sarcastically since Bean was hiding her mother in such a small clinic. Wasn't he afraid that her mother might need surgery in case of an emergency?
As soon as Dora was given the address, she left the Bush family with the police without continuing to argue with Bean.
The clinic was remote, and by the time she got her mother to the hospital and settled in, it was after midnight.
Dora couldn't stop tears from falling from her eyes, as she saw her mother lying safe and sound in the hospital bed. She sobbed, holding Judy's hand. "Mom..."
Dora couldn't imagine what she would have done if something had happened to her mother.
"Miss Bush, now that you've found your mother, we're leaving. If there's anything you want, just remember to call us."
Dora wiped tears from her face as she said apologetically. "Thank you very much, policemen, and I'm sorry to bother you so late."
"Miss Bush, you're welcome since this is what we should do."
How dare the two policemen say she bothered them so late at night, for the police chief had asked them to help her, so how could they not help her!
They couldn't help but look at Dora. What kind of status did this girl have? The police chief and the head of the hospital were willing to help her, so she wasn't simple!
Dora thanked Cody, who stood at the door of the ward after she had seen off the police.
"Doctor Hill, thank you very much today because if you hadn't found the evidence, Larkin wouldn't have admitted it, so we wouldn't have found my mother so soon."
Cody smiled and was about to say that it wasn't him she should be thanking, but someone else...
Before he could speak, he heard Dora say again. "By the way, Doctor Hill, can I trouble you one more thing?"
"Oh? What is it?"
Cody thought it was about Judy.
Dora looked complex as she hesitated for a moment before she spoke. "Could you not tell Arno what happened tonight?"
Arno had met Cody at the Bush family before, so Dora knew they were on good terms, while Cody was so helpful to her tonight that it's probably because Cody and Arno were friends.
But Dora didn't want Arno to know this since she didn't want him to worry.
Cody raised his eyebrow slightly as he thought how could this girl be so innocent!
She thought Arno didn't know anything about what had happened tonight?
Cody responded casually, and then he left the hospital.
Outside the hospital, Cody pulled open the door of the Maybach that had been parked in front of the hospital and got in.
"My God, Arno, I underestimated you before because I didn't think you could stay up all night for a woman."
Cody has known Arno for a long time, while he has never seen Arno did this for any other woman.
No, actually, Arno has never had a woman around him before.
Arno put one hand on the car window, and his eyes were fixed on the hospital as he asked in his clear voice. "How is she?"
"Go and see her yourself if you want to know!"
Arno looked at Cody out of the corner of his eye, and Arno looked so imposing that Cody shut up and didn't dare to joke anymore.
"When she saw her mother, tears fell from her eyes immediately, and it hurt me to watch."
Arno compressed his lips and said nothing.
"She just thanked the police and me. By the way, she told me not to tell you about it. She looked so pathetic and haggard because she had been up all night. She's staying in the ward with her mother right now, and I don't think she'll be leaving the hospital tonight."
Cody leaned back in the back seat as he continued slowly. "Are you sure you won't go in and see her? You worked so hard to help her and spent most of the night trying to help her, so I want to ask you, master Jones, since when have you been doing good deeds without a name?"
Arno compressed his lips while his handsome face looked complicated, and at last, he spoke. "I'm not going to see her."
She probably didn't want to see him.
"Well, if you don't want to see her, let's get out of here. Come on, you'll have to buy me dinner! Anyway, in our hospital, there are a lot of single male doctors, and tonight even the head of the hospital came out to help her, so a lot of people in the hospital knew about this, and there'll be a lot of people at the hospital willing to take care of her tonight, so rest assured!"
As Cody spoke, Cody buckled on his seat belt, while he looked at Arno with some interest.
Arno's face changed, and after a moment's hesitation, he opened the car door, stepped down, and strode into the hospital.
"Well, didn't you say you weren't going to see her?
Cody looked at Arno's back with interest. No way, if Arno left him, who's going to treat him to dinner? Wasn't he getting nothing in return for spending most of the night helping her?
