Christy Zhong hung up the phone and was about to get her lunch. In the meantime, Yvonne Jiang had just taken a photo with the secretaries.
When Christy passe by her, she said in a sarcastic tone, “Miss Jiang. You can sit here for a while. I’ll get my lunch. Then you see me eat with James.”
“I don’t mind.” Yvonne readily agreed. Both of them looked very happy.
Christy walked to the special elevator. Though those secretaries didn’t look at her directly, they made faces behind her back. It sickened them to hear how Christy called James Feng. Besides, they were sure about their romantic involvement.
“Damn it.” Christy pinched her arm in frustration in the elevator. What was that crap? How could she call him like that? It seemed that she should find ways to change what those secretaries thought of her, or they would gossip about her every day.
Then she thought of what happened just now. She thought of his warm hands and beckoning hug. She felt very satisfied with his arms around her.
When she came downstairs, the secretaries also went out of the elevator. Then few words came to Christy’s ears, “James. That’s so embarrassing.”
“Alas! Now president Feng has one more mistress.”
The word “Mistress” stung her. Would she be gossiped like that in the following days? Impulsively, she rushed forward and yelled at them, “Don’t you have work to do? What do you know about me? You are so rude!”
Those secretaries were scared by her fury. Besides, they did speak ill of her. So they said nothing and went to the restaurant with embarrassment.
However, Christy was choked with resentment. She felt really bad but couldn’t find a way to release the feeling. She only took her lunch back to the top floor, taking a look at her office and then going to the reception room.
Before she entered, James Feng could hear her clear and sweet voice, “James. I bring you lunch.”
The voice was so natural. James sneered in his heart. It seemed that this woman had her own thoughts. Either she liked him or she was good at performance.
Right. She graduated from institute of acting. Of course, she knew how to act and how people thought.
Standing close to James, Yvonne opened her lunch box and tried to promote the food.
It’s said that beauty was an omnipotent pass. If you were beautiful enough, everything would have a good start. But why did she bit the dust from him?
“Fast food? President Feng, It’s unhealthy to eat that.” Yvonne said, ”You can eat my lunch. It’s okay for me to eat fast food sometimes.”
Disapprovingly, James said nothing. He gave a meaningful look to Christy, asking her to drive Yvonne out quickly and then eat the meal.
Christy had no option but to put the lunch box down and explained to her, “Miss Jiang. You are not familiar with James. He likes it best. And it’s not fast food but a meal specially prepared for him.” Of course, that’s not enough.
Christy glanced at James again and the told her slowly, “Miss Jiang. James didn’t like being stared when having lunch. Please follow me and leave some space for James.”
The words made Yvonne very embarrassing. She said with anger, “Fine. I’ll go. James Feng. You will regret it!”
From entering the company to now, she wasn’t given enough respect. Did they think she was a kind of quiet? She would never be here if their parents didn’t ask her to do so.
She was not the one to be bullied. From small to large, she could get everything she wanted. But today she should lose to a nobody. Christy was ashamed to say it and think that again.
“See her off,” said James coldly. The one who could threaten him hadn’t born! He was immune to both soft and hard tactics. But her last words made him disgusted.
“Yes, James. ” Christy was released. It would be much easier for her as long as she saw her off. Christy would not think about other things. Neither would she care about what would happen after Yvonne left.
It didn’t matter to her. Anyway, James was responsible for the consequences. She just needed to handle the matter in hand.
“Miss Jiang. I’ll see you off,” said Christy politely. But she was worried when noticing Yvonne’s pale face. She was afraid that Yvonne was too angry to take it out on her. In that case, that would be terrible.
But she had to continue to do it.
Yvonne didn’t put on airs any more. Now it’s the rush hour. There were too many people coming and going. Besides, what they said just now embarrassed her enough. She had her own dignity.
“Sorry to trouble you,” said Yvonne in a flat tone. She knew very well that she would meet a lot of people if she didn’t take the special elevator with her. That’s not what she expected, for she had too many fans.
They must be cautious when going out.
Today she came to the company. Anyone with a discerning eye knew what she did here. If somebody posted the picture on the Internet, the netizens could say anything.
So she needed to pay attention to her image.
“Take care.” Walking into the elevator, Christy swiped the card and then was about to walk out.
What did that mean? The woman could not even accompany her downstairs.
“Wait. Secretary Zhong. Don’t you think you should send me downstairs? Do you want people to know that James Feng has done something very rude?” Yvonne talked about James. She knew that only in this way would Christy send her downstairs anyway.
