For the first meal at the Yun family, Sofia Pai indeed felt that they liked her. The old Yun and Jean Den were worried that she was too restrained and dared not eat too much, so they kept refilling her bowl. Sofia looked at her bowl and didn't know what to say.
"Wilson told me that you like spicy dishes. I specially found a cook who cooks Sichuan food today. Sofia, just make yourself at home. Try this dish. How do you like it? If you like it, I will let the cook go back with you."
Sofia's gaze fell on Wilson. She had never told him that she liked spicy food. How did he know that?
"You don't have to do this, Mom. I like Wuma's cooking very much, so it needn't to find another cook." Although Wilson did not say, Sofia was already moved. It turned out that he had always been paying attention to her preferences, but it was she who knew nothing about Wilson and only knew to choose the dishes she liked.
"These are all up to you. Sofia, if you want to eat these dishes, you and Wilson can come back here for dinner. Wilson is busy with the company's business every day. His stomach is not very good, and you have to take care of him." Sofia froze. His stomach was not good? Wilson didn’t say every time she ordered. She often ordered spicy food, no wonder he didn't eat much.
Sofia was a little bit frustrated. It was hard to say that she didn't know anything!
During the meal, Jean talked to her a lot about Wilson. Most of them were his usual habits, and they were all bad habits. Wilson only liked dark clothes and drank coffee as water when he stayed up late at night. He had a gastric perforation because of social engagement, then had restrained in the last two years. Hearing this, Sofia felt a little faintly painful for some reason.
Ever since she knew this man, he had always been aloof. She thought that someone as powerful as Wilson would never get sick at all. Let alone be vulnerable. But when she knew this, She remembered a word, that was, every successful person hid a lot of untold sadness.
God was fair. A person would gain as much as he paid.
"It’s so late today. You should rest here, and you can leave tomorrow. It would also be easier to go there directly." Jean held Sofia by the hand and had the intention of not letting her go.
"Sure!" Wilson nodded helplessly. It seemed that he didn't need to worry about their relationship.
Jean pulled Sofia aside, leaned her ears, and said softly, "Sofia, when will you and Wilson have a grandchild to play with me? I'm so bored at home every day. Wilson doesn't want to get married before. Every time I go out for gatherings, those ladies all say how cute their grandchildren are, and their granddaughter will call them grandma. I can only listen. I'm so jealous of them..."
Sofia paused. She didn't know how to answer Jean's question. She couldn't say that she failed to have sex with Wilson after they were married for so long. Sofia felt ashamed to say this.
"What are you whispering?" Wilson found that Sofia's expression was a bit strange. He figured out what Jean was talking to his wife, so he walked over and pulled Sofia over.
"Ha-ha. Nothing." Sofia smiled awkwardly. She was so embarrassed to say this.
"It's not nothing. I asked Sofia when will she have a grandson to play with me."
Wilson was speechless to his mother. How could anyone regard grandchildren as toys? Were children used to play? However, it did remind him of one thing, that was, it couldn't be delay in giving birth.
"Will be soon," Wilson said, then took Sofia to go out. If they stayed any longer, maybe his mother would say other things to Sofia.
"Where are you going so late?"
"Go out for a walk and sleep well later." Wilson said the word "sleep" seriously. Jean's ambiguous eyes wandered back and forth between the two of them, then she smiled and nodded.
"Go! Take a walk to digest and come back early." Wilson responded and took Sofia out. Sofia was by his side all the time. She didn't dare to speak, nor looked up. Her face flushed like an apple.
Sofia followed him and feeling the temperature in the palm of her hand. Her heartbeat became faster with each step.
The temperature outside was much lower than inside the house. Wilson stopped and turned to look at her who was confused. He stretched out his hand to help her tidy up the scarf, then took her hand and put it in his pocket. The two strolled along the path.
"So it won't be cold." Sofia lowered her head and responded in a low voice. She looked at the interlocking shadows on the ground and smiled happily.
As long as he was by her side, even if there was no communication, she still felt that the surrounding air becomes sweeter. The person who looked proud and cold on the outside was so hot inside. She felt his attentiveness and thoughtfulness, but she caused him a lot of trouble. Sofia told herself in her heart that she must treat Wilson well in the future.
"That's the way Mom talks. If she says something strange to you, don't take it to heart." Wilson worried that Sofia was not used to his mother's character, and some words might cause her to misunderstand.
"How come? Mom is so nice. I like her so much. I feel very kind to see her. I was worried that mother would be very serious, but it was completely different from what I thought. Will, your family is so kind. But why didn’t I see your father?"
Sofia asked casually. Wilson's steps froze and thought of someone in his memory. His face became gloomy. Sofia felt that something was wrong with him and then realized that she seemed to have said something that shouldn't be said.
It took a long time before Wilson spoke, "I don't have Dad." Sofia didn't expect him to say that. She seemed to have asked what she shouldn't ask.
When Wilson turned around, his gloomy expression was gone. He touched the head of Sofia and said, "I will tell you later. There will be time for that!"
Everyone had his secret. Although Sofia didn't know what Wilson's past was, she would always be by his side in the future and would never leave him.
"Will, your past is without me. From now on, I will always be by your side and never leave you." Sofia took two steps forward and hugged Wilson. She leaned against his arms and was satisfied listening to the heartbeat from his chest.
Never left. These two words were deeply imprinted in the mind of Wilson. He didn't say anything but just responded. Then he reached out to hug Sofia tightly in his arms.
If you didn't leave, I would never be separated from you in my life.
