Things appeared to be what it's like in the past when families live together happily every day. But Susanna knew it's never going to be the same.
After breakfast, Carson Chen remarked, "Honey, have you made up your mind to send your father to another nursing home?"
Susanna paused a little and then answered, "Yeah, maybe. Why?"
"Uh. Listen, I think we'd better not to do so. I understand you have problems with him. But given his old age and body, he cannot afford to move to another spot. Before anything else, he's still your father."
If she hadn't heard the recording before, Susanna would thank his "considerateness."
But now she knew well that Carson said so because he still wanted that place as his dating place, and also, this man got forced by her father.
Used to living in high-end nursing homes, Susanna's father certainly would not like to switch to those ordinary ones.
Afraid of coming to her daughter, he forced Carson to make such a proposal. Susanna's father succeeded in doing this because he learned those dating scandals about Carson.
At this thought, she sneered. "You know my family well. I've treated him better than I should. Plus, he's always like a trouble for people around him. I cannot let him be there anymore."
Susanna continued, "Wait. Do you remember Cindy Tong? She is pretty enough for him. What do you say I agree on their relationship? That way, he might act more of an adult."
Carson's face changed. He worked hard to pretend it's ok for him. By no way could Carson let that happen.
He knew Susanna was a decisive woman, so he had to nip that thought in the bud.
Carson hurriedly persuaded, "No, no, no. I mean, think about your speech that day. I don't reckon it's a good idea to see Cindy again. And in my eyes, Cindy has not a crush on your father."
"Wow, it's like you know their stuff so well," Susanna said with a weird smile.
Carson got nervous and quickly responded, "Sweetie, I go there a lot. Cindy is not a care worker. She is a nice person and often helps take care of the elderly. She treats them the same. You think too much."
"Oh. Do I?" Susanna looked a little guilty.
"Seemingly, I got it all wrong. Then I should find time to apologize to Condy."
"Never mind. You two don't interface well."
"Not necessarily. I mean, she's nice. I want to make friends with her." Susanna laughed.
Carson did not want to talk about Cindy with his wife, so he changed the subject.
"Honey, let's go back to the sanatorium thing."
Susanna thought for a while and said,
"You are right. Just let him be there. It is not too expensive to afford."
Susanna's words made Carson in relief.
"Don't worry. I will take good care of your father. All right. It's time to go to work. Just stay home and have a good rest, sweetie."
Then he left the house.
Susanna sneered, looking at his back.
"How'd that feel? Carson. You'll be haunted with fear every day in the future." Susanna thought.
