The military green jeep was running on the road.
It was close to dusk.
The sky was shrouded in clouds and mists, shining brightly.
"Mike Zhang, how many years have you been with me?" Richie Lin, who was sitting in the back row, suddenly asked.
He was still young when he joined the army. He did chores, planted vegetables and raised pigs, and carried the wounded.
When he went to the battlefield at the age of sixteen, he knew Mike and other teammates.
"Young General, it has been about seven years, hasn't it? I remember that you were the youngest on our team at that time. "
Mike looked at Richie through the rearview mirror in the car.
Yes, Richie was the youngest.
But in just a few years, he had made significant progress like a strong dragon entering the sea.
He was adopted by the General of the North at twenty and became the highest commander of the North.
"Yes, you are right. Our buddy will be happy to see the victory." Richie whispered as if he had remembered something.
Mike fell silent too.
Countless people protected their motherland with flesh and blood.
"Yes."
"Jin City. I remember it's not far from where Mark Yu lives. Let's go to visit it together someday." Richie thought of the man.
He was older than them and was more upright.
But he was a stubborn man.
Mike hesitated for a while and finally said, "Young General, I've contacted him. He is in prison for hurt others."
Richie frowned. He couldn't do that.
He retired from the army because one of the legs was broken on the battlefield.
But he was very easy-going. How could he hurt others casually?
"Make it tomorrow."
"Okay."
The car slowly pulled over.
"Well, you'd better go back early. Today is Peppa's birthday. It is for her." Richie handed over a small bag of documents from the back seat.
Mike widened his eyes. He didn't expect that Richie still remembered his daughter's birthday.
He almost forgot if his wife didn't remind him.
"Young General, this..." Mike was moved and didn't know what to say.
When he left home and joined the army, his wife had been pregnant.
It was his regret that didn't company with his child. The whole family followed him into the city, but the admission problem stumped them.
They chose a good school, but there were all kinds of complicated restrictions. He spent money but still couldn't go to school.
His family kept complaining, but he had no choice.
After Richie knew it, he handled this.
"Let the children study hard; then she doesn't need to do this shit." Opening the car door, Richie said and got out of the car.
"Thank you." Mike's eyes turned red.
Richie treated everyone in the army as his brothers. Even if it was a trifle, he would keep it in mind.
Richie went back to Zhou's for dinner.
When he passed by Angel Chu's place, he saw the door open.
However, there was no more furniture inside; the room was empty.
"Are you going to change the furniture?" Richie murmured and left.
On the second early in the morning, Mike waited outside the community.
Seeing Richie get in the car, he smiled.
Mike had a good day yesterday with the household registration.
"Young General, this is my daughter's gift for you." Mike felt a little embarrassed and handed it to Richie.
Richie was stunned and took the card.
It was painted with colorful lead. Three people were playing on the grass.
"I'm not here!" Richie asked in confusion.
Mike scratched his head and said, "the sun is you. My daughter said you are the sun."
It was true that the round sun had a human body.
Children are really good at whimsical ideas.
"Okay, find a place to frame it and hang it in the living room."
"Well...Young General, you and my daughter have the same taste."
The jeep drove out of the city center.
More than twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the prison gate. After going through the formalities in advance, they went straight in.
Bang!
The heavy black iron door pushed open.
In the room lay a burly but very discomfited strong man.
"Mark, someone is coming to see you."The prison guard shouted.
He raised his head and saw two familiar figures through the dazzling sunshine, who had come into his dream so many times.
"Mark, what are you waiting for? Young General is coming for you." Mike noticed that Mark was still in a daze, reminded.
Slap!
He slapped himself across the face. He was not dreaming.
He hobbled to his feet, straightened his back, and said loudly, "Mark from the Fourth Army of the North. Nice to meet you, Young General and Aide Zhang. "
Such a powerful report made the prison guards whisper.
Young General?
The man who had been silent all the time was from the North?
The one who attacked the enemy's capital and forced them to surrender unconditionally?
A group of prison guards approached the door, pricking up their ears to wait for any more breaking news.
"How dare you break the law?" Richie said with a gloomy face.
It would ruin his career as Mark was put into prison.
He stood up straight.
His clothes were broken with sallow yellow on his face. His hair was messy, and his face and body were also covered with bruises and thorns.
He had been known for his toughness for many years, but now he had become like this.
"I have a clear conscience. I don't dare to compete with Young General."
Mike patted his forehead; he didn't change at all.
He was still the man that the stubborn guy with low EQ.
"Cut the crap. Tell me, how did you get in here?" Richie asked directly.
The story was simple. He lived in a small village near Jin City. As soon as he saw the villager bullied by the gentry, he taught them a lesson.
But some of them got helpers to besiege him, so he killed people accidentally.
He had defended himself before, but when the trial began, the villagers suddenly changed told a lie because of threats, so he was sentenced to two years.
Richie felt a little relieved.
"Then how did you get hurt, especially on your chest?" Richie pointed at the wound and asked.
There was a sting on his chest, and it looked very new.
The wound was only one centimeter away from his heart.
