"Um."
William Zhan hummed in a low voice.
Mila Hai came over, holding a small transparent plastic bag.
"I bought Sauerkraut. Do you want to eat it?"
William Zhan stared at her with a darkened face. She knew how to eat at the banquet but wasn't complete yet.
What a foodie!
"Sauerkraut smells bad, but the more you eat it, the more delicious it becomes. My favorite man once loved to eat it."
Mila Hai sat down next to William Zhan and opened the bag. The smell of Sauerkraut wafted out. William Zhan moved to the side without leaving a trace, trying to create some distance so he wouldn't be overwhelmed by the unfamiliar smell.
"Your favorite man?"
"The one on the dollar bills."
William Zhan was speechless. Money to him was just a series of numbers on his bank card.
"Would you like to try a piece? It's delicious, really. It tastes great. I really like it."
"I don't want it. You can eat it yourself. Also, can you go outside to the balcony to eat it? I can't stand this smell."
Seeing him looking like he wanted to vomit, Mila Hai hurriedly picked up the bag. She went away, muttering, "People with high incomes probably have a particularly refined life."
On the balcony, Mila Hai was happily munching on her Sauerkraut.
William Zhan could see her from inside the room. His expression was hard to read, but he refrained from saying anything.
Everyone's preferences are different.
"Mr. Zhan, you don't have to work overtime tonight. Can you get up earlier tomorrow?"
Mila Hai asked the man in the room from the balcony.
After a silent pause, William Zhan asked coldly, "Is something wrong?"
He probably was naturally aloof. From the first time she met him, he always spoke coldly.
"I want you to drive me to the flower shop in the market tomorrow. I'll buy some potted flowers and put them on the balcony. It's more convenient since you have a car."
William Zhan didn't respond.
"If you can't get up that early, you can lend me your car, and I'll go there myself."
"What time is it?"
After an internal struggle, William Zhan still asked her the time. He decided to get up early tomorrow morning to accompany her to the flower shop in the market and buy some potted flowers to decorate their balcony.
On the first day she moved in, Mila Hai realized that the home lacked many things. She even suspected that William Zhan didn't live there before she moved in and had no sense of a lived-in space.
"Alright."
William Zhan agreed.
When Mila Hai finished eating the Sauerkraut and came in, William Zhan asked her, "Is your store closing so early tonight?"
