"Let's go," William Zhan said calmly, and Mila Hai agreed, following him.
The couple walked together in silence. Mila Hai had initially wanted to find a topic to engage in conversation. Still, seeing his serious expression and always tense demeanor as if he were not to be approached, she lost interest in initiating a conversation.
A person like him would likely be a good teacher in a school, severe and capable of controlling a group of children.
After a while, they arrived at the market. Mila Hai directed William Zhan to park the car in an open space. After exiting the car, she suggested, "Let's grab breakfast first."
William Zhan remained silent and followed her.
Visiting the market was a bit uncomfortable for him, especially for a first-timer, but he cooperated with Mila Hai, not allowing her to see his discomfort.
They each ordered mushroom soup and spaghetti at the breakfast shop. Mila Hai also ordered an extra basket of baguettes as she was still hungry after the initial portion.
William Zhan ate slowly. Mila Hai found him good-looking. Watching him eat made her appetite improve. If she weren't worried about William Zhan disliking her for eating a lot, she would have ordered even more.
"If you're still hungry, just say so."
William Zhan noticed she wanted more to eat. With her appetite, a bowl of soup, rice noodles, and a basket of steamed dumplings would hardly be enough.
At the banquet last night, she kept eating for over an hour.
She even took stinky tofu home to eat later.
Considering her slender figure, she had a standard model physique. Yet, she could eat so much, and he couldn't comprehend where the nutrients were going.
"I'm full, but watching you eat makes me hungry again," she playfully admitted.
William Zhan furrowed his brow.
"Hehe, don't be upset. I just mean you look good when you eat. Watching you eat, I feel as if you're savoring exquisite dishes. It makes me want to eat too," Mila Hai explained with a smile.
William Zhan looked at her, said nothing, and continued eating his rice noodles.
He ate slowly, not used to eating in such settings.
After the couple finished their meal, Mila Hai guided him to a nearby 24-hour ATM. She withdrew money using the bank card he had given her.
Mila Hai had a good memory and remembered the password after looking at it once.
She inserted the card into the ATM, entered the PIN, and checked the balance. It was only 100,000 dollars.
"If you need more money, let me know. I'll deposit into this account," he offered.
"This is already quite a lot. How much could a small household of two possibly spend? I just wanted to see how much we have. It helps us stay within our budget when shopping," she explained.
After buying the furniture, they needed to set aside some living expenses.
She had seen the order confirmation; it would arrive tomorrow.
When she met her in-laws, she was determined to cook a delicious meal for them and be a gracious host.
"Alright, let's head to the flower shop."
Mila Hai returned his bank card to his wallet and took William Zhan to a nearby flower shop.
There were several flower shops near the market, and they typically had good business. Since people living near the market tended to buy groceries in the morning and evening, these shops opened early.
Mila Hai asked William Zhan if he had any preferences for flowers, but he didn't, so she proceeded to buy various potted flowers according to her tastes. She also purchased two flower stands to take home and set up.
