Mila Hai recognized that William Zhan enjoyed certain privileges as a senior white-collar worker.
She handed him the bank card and instructed, "You should negotiate with the boss for half the price."
William Zhan returned the bank card, saying, "I still have money on this."
Mila Hai glanced at him but didn't insist further.
Knowing she needed to visit her sister's house, she again reminded William Zhan to negotiate the price while buying flowers. She then grabbed the key to the electric bike and hastily left.
Unbeknownst to her, after she left, William Zhan took a short video of the balcony with his phone and sent it to Uncle Hui, the estate manager at the Zhan family manor.
Uncle Hui called shortly after.
"Sir."
"Uncle Hui, did you watch the video? How many pots of flowers are needed to transform this balcony into a small garden? Choose some inexpensive ones from the flower room that bloom easily and have intricate, large flowers. Send them to Room 808, Floor 8, Building B, Minyuan Garden."
While accompanying Mila Hai to buy flowers, William Zhan noticed she favored flowers with large, complex blooms rather than single-petaled ones.
"Also, make sure to include an invoice."
Uncle Hui affirmed, "Understood."
"Have it delivered by this evening."
"Of course."
He would heed every instruction from William Zhan.
"Just get them upstairs and place them on the balcony. Don't worry about the rest."
It was up to Mila Hai to arrange them according to her liking. He had done his part, but she might not appreciate it.
Uncle Hui responded respectfully.
William Zhan quickly ended the call.
Unconsciously, Mila Hai packed breakfast for Anna Hai and Ehtna Zhou, just as she did yesterday. In high spirits, she also bought a small electric toy car for her nephew.
"Mila!"
Mila Hai stepped inside and heard her nephew Ethan Zhou's cheerful cries.
"Ethan, you're up early today. Come and see what I got for you."
"Car!"
Ethan Zhou, just two years old, had a limited vocabulary. He hurried over and happily circled the toy car, unable to express his delight in words.
Anna Hai emerged from the bathroom. She had just put her and her husband's clothes in the washing machine. Her son's clothes were washed by hand.
"Mila, you're such a spendthrift."
"The toy car for my nephew is worth it."
Mila Hai set down the breakfast, picked up her nephew, and let him sit in the ride-on toy car, showing him how to play.
Ethan Zhou was bright and quickly picked up on it. Soon, he rode the little car, zooming around the living room.
"Anna, I bought breakfast for you and Ethan."
"I set the alarm last night and woke up early this morning to prepare breakfast for your husband before he leaves for work."
Seeing her son having a blast, Anna Hai also smiled. "You don't need to buy breakfast anymore. You're married now and have your own family. The money you earn should be spent on your own family. Don't keep coming to my house, or your husband might object."
Anna didn't want Mila Hai to become overly reliant on her.
