Last night, Mila Hai intentionally waited until William Zhan came home late at night, and they agreed to go to the market to buy vegetables on Saturday morning. Mila Hai had called the old lady last night and knew that her husband's family, who came today could probably sit for two. They decided on having three tables, as William Zhan's group of brothers were also coming over.
What the old lady meant was that she and William Zhan had already received their marriage certificate, and she was the daughter-in-law of their Zhan family. In addition to meeting their elders, they also wanted to introduce her to others as their eldest sister-in-law so as not to meet strangers on the road.
There was a lot of groceries to buy today. She was afraid she couldn't pick them up if she went there alone, so she asked Shang William Zhan to drive there. No matter how much groceries she bought, she didn't have to worry about being unable to pick them up.
Just like that day, William Zhan was woken up by Mila Hai's voice call at six o'clock in the morning.
William Zhan, who was extremely angry when he got up, had to endure it so much so he didn't yell at Mila Hai.
"Mr. Zhan."
Mila Hai's voice was crisp and pleasant to listen to.
William Zhan rubbed his eyebrows and said in a low voice, "Give me ten minutes."
"Okay, I fried the noodles. You can eat them when you come out later. After we finish eating, we will go out to buy groceries."
William Zhan said, "When did you get up?"
It was only six o'clock in the morning, and she had already made breakfast.
"About five o'clock."
It took a lot of time for one person to prepare meals for two or three tables. She had to get up early to be busy.
William Zhan said no more and silently ended the call.
When she met her parents, she took them seriously. They were his family. Her attitude pleased William Zhan.
Ten minutes later.
William Zhan appeared in front of the dining table in casual clothes.
She was still eating. When she saw him, she smiled and said, "Try the noodles I fried. My sister said the noodles I fried are delicious."
William Zhan took a look at his breakfast. It looked good and quite appetizing. He finished the plate of fried noodles with appreciation. It was indeed delicious. Her cooking skills must be very good.
He was pretty lucky.
It felt much safer to eat breakfast made by her than to eat breakfast bought from outside.
Mila Hai packed up the dishes and went into the kitchen to clean them.
"Mr. Zhan, are all your clothes black?"
William Zhan was silent, which was regarded as acquiescence.
"What size clothes do you wear? I will go shopping another day and buy you some clothes in other colors. You already have a serious face and always wear black, which gives people a cold feeling."
William Zhan's eyes turned cold, and his tone became cold, "Don't worry about my clothes!"
He liked black. She could avert her gaze and stop looking if she didn't like it!
Mila Hai could hear the indifference and displeasure in his words. After silence, she said, "I'm sorry, I went off the rails. Everyone has their preferences. I shouldn't ask you to change yours just because I don't like them."
William Zhan didn't answer.
He turned and walked out of the balcony.
Looking at the balcony she had arranged like a small garden, his sullen, handsome face softened.
A few minutes later.
Mila Hai took the money bag and shouted, "Mr. Zhan, let's go."
William Zhan came back from the balcony without saying a word. He quietly went to get the car keys, and the couple went out together.
The earlier unpleasant thought was pushed aside, and both husband and wife showed maturity, choosing not to revisit the topic.
They were still getting to know each other, and their differences were not fully understood. Living together and adjusting to each other's habits would bring forth more friction in the future, unbeknownst to them.
Mila Hai was meticulous in her work. She had already planned the dishes she would prepare today and listed the ingredients needed for each dish. She went straight to the market with her shopping list, making the shopping process much faster.
William Zhan scored highly on Mila Hai's words and deeds in life.
