"How did you manage to rescue Viola, especially with the Lei family being more powerful than the Sun family?" Lucinda Qin asked before Randy Ling had a chance to respond.
"We called the police, and they helped me rescue Viola," Randy Ling replied with a smile.
"Really?" Lucinda Qin looked at Randy Ling skeptically.
"Lucinda Qin, enough already!" Davina Shen shouted.
She then addressed Randy Ling and Sherod Lu with a stern tone. "Having one Sun family after you is trouble enough, but now the even more powerful Lei family? You must be fearless!"
"Of course, it doesn't matter for you two. You can come and go as you please. At worst, you just leave," she continued, expressing her concern about her family's future.
"What will become of our family? We can't stay in Yun city anymore, and going back to Dongzhou is impossible. Where do we go from here?" Lucinda Qin and Arabella Qin exchanged concerned looks.
These were practical and pressing questions.
"What about food? Clothing? Shelter?" Arabella Qin pondered aloud.
"Auntie, those won't be problems. I've already thought about it. Please don't worry. I promise..." Randy Ling assured her.
"Alright, enough talk!" Arabella Qin interrupted Randy Ling with a slight frown.
"I promised you that I would repay you a thousand times over for what I owe you. Please believe that I will fulfill that promise!" she added.
Davina Shen, however, remained skeptical. "Words are easy; actions speak louder!"
"Going back to Dongzhou? What for? You're going to survive on thin air?" Arabella Qin exclaimed.
Arabella Qin then walked away, leaving Randy Ling to follow suit, trailed by Sherod Lu.
"Since we're talking about this today, let's make things clear," Arabella Qin stated firmly. "You have your life, and I have mine. Don't come looking for me again. Take care..."
"Arabella!" Randy Ling interrupted. "I know you still resent me, but please, think of Viola."
"All of this was my choice, and it had nothing to do with you!" Arabella Qin interjected.
"Arabella, Viola is growing up, and she's starting to understand. She can't be without her father," Randy Ling argued. "From now on, let me take care of you!"
"This was my choice, and I don't want to burden you," Arabella Qin said, her voice trembling slightly.
"Enough, Arabella!" Randy Ling exclaimed.
"Arabella, believe me, I will give you and Viola a happy home!" he insisted.
He reached out to Arabella Qin and held her arms, gazing into her eyes. "She'll be going to elementary school soon. Do you want others to say she's fatherless?"
"Can you guarantee a stable environment for her to grow up in given your current circumstances? What if she gets bullied in school or something like this happens again?" he continued, trying to persuade her.
"Enough, please stop..." Arabella Qin choked back her tears.
"Arabella, it doesn't matter if you can't accept me right away. I won't force you to marry me now," Randy Ling said. "We can work on our relationship gradually. But for now, can we at least pretend to be a couple in front of others and Viola?"
"When you can truly accept me, I'll organize a magnificent wedding for you. I'll make you a bride envied by all women!" he promised.
"Arabella, I'm really sorry," Randy Ling said sincerely. "I hurt you unintentionally five years ago."
Arabella Qin thought for a moment and then laid Viola flat on the sofa before getting up and walking to the door.
Randy Ling said goodbye to Nohe Qin and his wife and followed Arabella Qin, with Sherod Lu not far behind.
Once they were in the corridor, Arabella Qin turned to Randy Ling, and they began to discuss their relationship in private.
"Today, we've talked about everything. Let's make it clear," Arabella Qin asserted. "You have your life, and I have mine. Don't come looking for me again. Take care of yourself..."
"Arabella!" Randy Ling interrupted. "I know you still resent me, but please, think of Viola."
"All of this was my choice, and it had nothing to do with you!" Arabella Qin insisted.
"Arabella, Viola is growing up, and she's starting to understand. She can't be without her father," Randy Ling argued. "From now on, let me take care of you!"
"I made this choice, and I don't want to burden you," Arabella Qin replied, her voice quivering.
"Enough, Arabella!" Randy Ling said firmly.
"Arabella, believe me, I will give you and Viola a happy home!" he vowed.
He reached out and held Arabella Qin tightly, locking eyes with her. "She's going to start elementary school soon. Do you want others to say she's fatherless?"
"Can you guarantee a stable environment for her to grow up in given your current circumstances? What if she gets bullied in school or something like this happens again?" he continued, trying to convince her.
"Enough, please stop..." Arabella Qin choked back her tears.
"Arabella, it doesn't matter if you can't accept me right away. I won't force you to marry me now," Randy Ling said earnestly. "We can take our time building our relationship.
"I never meant to hurt you five years ago."
Arabella Qin thought for a moment and then laid Viola flat on the sofa before getting up and walking to the door.
Randy Ling said goodbye to Nohe Qin and his wife and followed Arabella Qin, with Sherod Lu not far behind.
Once they were in the corridor, Arabella Qin turned to Randy Ling, and they began to discuss their relationship privately.
"Today, since we've discussed this, let's make it clear," Randy Ling began.
"You have your life, and I have mine. From now on, don't come looking for me. Take care of each other," Arabella Qin asserted.
"Arabella!" Randy Ling interrupted, his voice filled with earnestness. "I know you still harbor resentment, but even if you don't think about yourself, please consider Viola."
"All of this was my choice, and it has nothing to do with you," Arabella Qin insisted.
"Arabella, Viola is getting older and starting to understand. She can't live without her father," Randy Ling took a deep breath. "From now on, let me take care of you."
"I told you, this is all my choice, and you don't need to feel pressured," Arabella Qin replied, trembling slightly.
"Please, let's stop talking," she choked up.
"Arabella, believe me, I'll definitely provide you and Viola with a happy home," Randy Ling said, turning and holding Arabella Qin's arms, his gaze unwavering.
"She'll be starting elementary school soon. Do you want people to say she's a child without a father? What if Viola gets bullied in school or something like this happens again?" he asked, his concern for their future evident.
"Please, let's stop talking, really stop talking," Arabella Qin pleaded before bursting into tears.
After all, which woman doesn't dream of a decent wedding and a husband who can provide security? These are cherished dreams from her youth.
"It doesn't matter if you can't accept me right away. I won't force you to marry me now," Randy Ling reassured her. "Our relationship can develop slowly."
"But for now, can we at least pretend to be a couple in front of others and Viola?" he asked. "When you can truly accept me, I'll organize a spectacular wedding for you. I promise to make you a bride that all women will envy."
"Arabella, I'm truly sorry," Randy Ling said, taking another deep breath as he hugged Arabella Qin tightly.
She struggled subconsciously but eventually gave in to his strong embrace. All the pent-up emotions that had been suppressed for so long poured out, and she cried loudly in Randy's arms.
But for her, all her dreams came to an abrupt end five years ago. Now, all she desires is a peaceful life for her family and to raise Viola in good health. Nothing else matters.
After a while, as Arabella Qin gradually calmed down, Randy released his grip, and Arabella spoke softly.
"Randy Ling, I understand that you're doing all of this for Viola, but I don't want to hold you back," she choked out.
"Your life is just beginning, and you have a bright future ahead. I can't be too selfish and tie you to me and Viola," she continued.
Randy Ling held her tightly, his eyes turning red as he said, "Arabella, my life revolves around you and Viola. Without you, I have no life."
"Even if this situation with Viola hadn't happened, I still would have gone back to Dongzhou to find you," he declared.
"You saved my life, and I once vowed to protect you with my entire life," he added.
"These aren't real problems. As long as you promise to let me take care of you, I'll bring about significant changes in your lives," Randy Ling assured her.
"Over the years, I've managed to earn some money, and while it might not be much, it's more than sufficient to support my family," he said confidently.
"Furthermore, I've made many friends, and I promise that no one will ever dare to bully you again in the future."
