Five minutes later, Andrew Qin, accompanied by his secretary, entered the large conference room with Jonty Qin and Jemima Qin.
Inside the room, they found a group of four people sitting upright, with a man in his forties at the center.
"Hello, Director Zhou, these two are our chairman and general manager," the secretary introduced, pointing at Andrew Qin and his son, and then at Jemima Qin, saying, "This is Miss Qin you are looking for!"
"Hello, Director Zhou, I'm truly sorry to trouble you coming all the way!" Andrew Qin greeted enthusiastically.
"Hello, Director Qin, you're most welcome. Your company is our VIP customer; this is just our duty," Sorrel Zhou replied with a smile.
"Hello, Director Zhou, thank you for placing your trust in me!" Jemima Qin said, enjoying the respectful attitude of the other party.
"Miss Qin, you're very welcome," Sorrel Zhou replied with a smile.
He then stood up, bowed, and warmly addressed Jemima Qin, saying, "Hello, Miss Qin, I am Sorrel Zhou, the director of the Investment Promotion Department of Dongzhou Building. Please offer me your guidance!"
Sorrel Zhou had been repeatedly instructed by his superiors to treat the Qins as esteemed guests, and he dared not be careless in the slightest.
"Of course!" Jemima Qin handed the contract to Andrew Qin and Jonty Qin and said, "Grandpa, Dad, please check if there are any issues."
"Thank you for your company's trust in us. The contract is flawless!" Andrew Qin said with a smile after reviewing the contract for a few minutes. "Jemima, please sign it!"
He then took the contract from a colleague and handed it to Jemima Qin.
"These are the two copies of the contract. Our company has stamped them. Miss Qin, please have a look first. If there are no issues, the contract will take effect once you sign it."
"Understood!" Jemima Qin nodded vigorously, picked up her expensive pen, and signed her name with a flourish. Her handwriting was elegant.
"Director Zhou, could you please check it?" Jemima Qin handed the two contracts back to Sorrel Zhou after signing.
"Let me take a look." Sorrel Zhou turned to the last page.
But the moment he examined it, his expression changed several times. He looked up at Jemima Qin and said, "Aren't you Miss Arabella Qin?"
"What do you mean?" Jemima Qin asked, taking a deep breath.
Andrew Qin and his granddaughter were equally astonished, with perplexed expressions on their faces.
He had asked his superior about Arabella Qin's identity and whether she warranted such attention from the company.
His superior did not provide a direct answer but had only warned him that if anything went wrong today, his position as the director of the investment department would be in jeopardy.
"We came here specifically to sign a contract with Miss Arabella Qin today. You are not her, so why did you sign it?" Sorrel Zhou's tone immediately grew stern.
He had come on this mission with great importance. His superiors had repeatedly emphasized that if he were sent to the Qin Group, it must be Arabella Qin who signed.
"Director Zhou, there seems to be some misunderstanding here!" Andrew Qin tried to calm his emotions.
"The Arabella Qin you mentioned is an ordinary employee of a subsidiary company of our group. She has no authority to sign on behalf of our company..."
Andrew Qin explained that he had treated this matter as a royal edict and had taken the contract to the Qin Group after receiving the directive from the leadership office.
When he had met with Andrew Qin's secretary earlier, he had only requested that Miss Qin sign the contract but hadn't specified Arabella Qin's full name, which had led to this confusion.
"If Miss Arabella Qin isn't here, then your company's entry into our commercial building will halt," Sorrel Zhou declared.
He stood up and added, "Let me emphasize once more: we only recognize Miss Arabella Qin, and any other signature is invalid."
He then tore the two contracts into pieces and spoke in a harsh tone.
Could this really be Randy Ling's connection?
But it couldn't be! This was clearly the Jian family's doing!
"Director Zhou, please wait for a moment and have some tea. I will call Arabella Qin to come immediately," Andrew Qin suggested quickly.
He recalled what Randy Ling had mentioned yesterday while speaking.
"Alright, please notify her immediately." Andrew Qin nodded again and then looked at Jemima Qin. "Why are you still standing here? Call her right away!"
"I understand, I understand!" Jemima Qin muttered to herself, her expression as dark as her deceased parents.
"I need to return to the company for a meeting later. Please hurry and have Miss Arabella Qin come to the company!" Sorrel Zhou said coldly, sitting down again.
Naturally, he didn't dare to actually leave. If he left, there would be no need for him to return to the company!
At that moment, Arabella Qin finally understood why Dongzhou Company had come to Qin Group with such enthusiasm. It wasn't because of Maud Qian!
In her heart, Arabella cursed the Qian family and, at the same time, despised Maud Qian with a passion, her teeth gritted.
Arabella had initially thought that from that day on, she would become the most important person in the Qin Group. However, within just a few minutes, she had been rudely brought back to reality.
These past few months, she had slept with him for nothing!
This roller coaster of emotions was driving her insane!
Ring! Ring!
Her cellphone on the coffee table began to ring. Arabella Qin picked it up and checked the caller ID; it was Jemima Qin calling.
At that moment, Arabella and Randy Ling were at home, playing with Viola. The three of them appeared to be a harmonious family.
"What's going on?" Arabella furrowed her eyebrows slightly.
"Come to the company right away!" Jemima Qin ordered in a commanding tone.
"What do you need?" Arabella asked calmly when she answered the phone.
"Come if I ask you to! Don't waste my time with nonsense!" Jemima Qin's tone was unfriendly.
"No, thanks," Arabella shook her head. "Jemima Qin called me out of the blue to come to the company, and I ignored her."
"Why did she suddenly ask you to come back to the company?" Davina Shen, who was beside her, asked.
"No time," Arabella hung up the phone directly.
"Arabella, what's going on?" Randy Ling noticed that her expression was not good.
"I don't know," Arabella shook her head and continued to play with Viola.
The phone rang again, and it was naturally another call from Jemima Qin.
"Arabella, don't answer it for now," Randy Ling said with a faint smile. "Let her call a few more times."
Ring! Ring!
"What do you mean?" Lucinda Qin asked, looking puzzled.
"Haha, have you forgotten what I said yesterday?" Randy Ling shrugged. "Lucinda, didn't you say that Jemima Qin wanted me to help secure the Dongzhou Building contract?"
"Are you talking about the contract?" Arabella Qin reacted, her face showing surprise.
"Huh?" Lucinda Qin was astonished.
"Brother-in-law, you didn't actually manage to seal the deal for the Dongzhou Building contract, did you?"
