After Lucinda Qin's words, Nohe Qin and his wife reacted, their gaze fixed on Randy Ling.
"I promised Viola I'd keep my word," Randy Ling gently caressed Viola's cheek. "Isn't that right, Viola?"
"Yeah!" Viola chimed in, her voice resolute. "I believe in Dad. He always keeps his promises!"
"Nohe Qin, have you really done it?" Nohe Qin asked, his expression filled with astonishment.
"If your hunch is right," Randy Ling responded with a smile, "Jemima Qin called Arabella to the company to sign a contract with the folks from Dongzhou Building."
A hushed silence followed.
Ring! Ring!
The phone persisted in its insistence.
"Why don't you let Arabella answer the call?" Nohe Qin turned to Randy Ling for guidance.
"Arabella, tell her you're willing to sign the contract, but you require Andrew Qin to personally invite you. Otherwise, you won't go," Randy Ling suggested.
Lucinda Qin let out an exclamation. "Brother-in-law, you're quite something. If that old guy hears this, he'll be fuming!"
Nohe Qin scolded in a low tone, "Lucinda, mind your words!"
Arabella Qin hesitated. "But..."
"No need to worry, they'll wait," Randy Ling assured with a smile, turning his attention to Arabella Qin.
Nohe Qin asked, "Davina, is this really the right approach?"
Davina Shen responded, "What's wrong with it? Haven't you forgotten what they did to us last night? I agree with Randy Ling. If Dongzhou Building only recognizes Arabella, then the old man should personally invite her."
Rarely on the same page as Randy Ling, Davina Shen continued, "But..."
Arabella Qin hesitated once more.
"Don't fret; I guarantee they'll agree," Randy Ling assured her, flashing a reassuring smile.
He added, "And don't forget to ask for the lousy agreement your dad signed and the bonuses from previous years."
"Understood!" Randy Ling responded with a smile. "Arabella, answer the call and do as Auntie says."
With a snap, Jemima Qin angrily hung up the phone on her end.
"Alright!" Arabella Qin nodded and picked up the phone, relaying Jemima Qin's demand.
A loud crash reverberated through the Qin Group headquarters as Andrew Qin shattered his teacup.
"She hung up," Arabella Qin reported with a frown.
"It's alright; let her be. We'll wait for them to come to your door," Randy Ling remarked nonchalantly.
He never imagined he would be threatened, let alone by his own granddaughter. If Arabella Qin were standing before him, he might just have slapped some sense into her.
"Ungrateful, truly ungrateful!" Andrew Qin roared, his face crimson with anger, blood pressure surging.
"Dad, what should we do now?" Jonty Qin asked, clearly infuriated.
After puffing on his cigarette, he said, "The people from Dongzhou Building are still waiting. Should I have them return?"
Andrew Qin seethed. "What other choice do we have? The Qin Group must secure the Dongzhou Building contract. Once the contract is signed, we can deal with that ungrateful son slowly."
"What about the dividends they're demanding?" Jonty Qin asked.
"Get the car ready!" Andrew Qin ordered, incensed enough to knock over a vase.
"Are you really going, Dad?" Jonty Qin asked, visibly shocked.
"After the contract is finalized, you'll have a say in the matter. How the bonuses are calculated and distributed won't be up to you," his father responded sternly.
"Grandpa, should I try calling Mr. Jian again? See if he has any updates?" Jemima Qin suggested.
"The contract hasn't been signed yet, so we'll discuss bonuses later," Andrew Qin replied icily. "We'll address it after the contract is finalized."
"Understood!" Jonty Qin nodded, grasping the unspoken implication.
Jemima Qin let out a cry, "That jerk deserves to pay; I won't let him off the hook!"
"Let's not worry about him for now. Your father and I will pay a visit to that ungrateful son Nohe's residence," Andrew Qin explained.
"We just inquired with people from Dongzhou Building; they had no prior knowledge of our Qin Group," Andrew Qin asserted.
"My guess is that Maud Qian never even mentioned it to his father. He's been deceiving us all along."
About ten minutes later, Andrew Qin and his son furiously drove to Arabella Qin's house.
Half an hour later, father and son entered Arabella Qin's home.
"Head to the conference room immediately and keep Dongzhou Building's representatives company. Regardless of the circumstances, they must not leave before our return!"
"Alright!" Jemima Qin nodded, hurrying toward the conference room.
"Grandpa!" Arabella Qin called out, her expression complex.
"Arabella, I know you're upset with Grandpa. Grandpa should apologize first," Andrew Qin conceded, suppressing his anger.
"Dad!" Nohe Qin interjected.
"Huh!" Andrew Qin grunted, ignoring him, and shot Randy Ling a cold, angry look.
"The share certificates and bonuses were prepared by company personnel before my arrival. Once Arabella signs the contract, I can fetch them immediately," Andrew Qin stated, exhaling heavily as he tried to regain his composure.
Then, addressing Arabella Qin, he offered, "I promise you, Arabella, that once the Dongzhou Building contract is signed, you'll be transferred back to our group headquarters and appointed as a department director."
"Enough talking; we want to see the actual documents. Where are the share certificates and bonuses you've prepared?" Davina Shen demanded loudly.
Jonty Qin attempted to intervene, "Sister-in-law, we're all family. Must you be so..."
Davina Shen scoffed. "Family? No matter how close, can you guarantee you won't go back on your word?"
Her voice grew louder. "Do you have any idea what we've endured all these years? I don't trust you at all. What if I sign the contract, and you renege later?"
"Are you unable to contain your anger right now?" Davina Shen asked, her tone icy.
Andrew Qin breathed deeply, feeling he was teetering on the brink of rage.
"So, what do I need to do to get Arabella to sign the contract?" He finally inquired.
