Watching as Nora was picked up by her teacher, Andrew Li shifted his gaze and instructed Barry Lu, "Let's go."
Barry nodded and drove to the Li Family Manor.
Upon arriving at the company, Andrew Li immediately joined a high-level meeting without missing a beat.
The meeting lasted for over an hour.
Afterward, Andrew Li headed straight back to his office.
"Welcome back, Andrew Li." came the voice of Olivia Fu as soon as he entered the room.
Upon hearing this, Andrew furrowed his brows slightly.
He saw Olivia Fu, dressed in an elegant black pantsuit, smiling as she stood by his desk. It seemed she had been waiting inside for a while.
"When did you arrive?" Andrew asked as he walked over to his desk. His gaze swept over the documents on the desk and finally settled on Olivia Fu's face.
Seeing him sit down, Olivia Fu also took a seat, her smile full of warmth. "I just got here not too long ago. Barry mentioned you were in a meeting."
After speaking, she suddenly noticed the scab at the corner of Andrew's mouth and felt a pang of concern. "Your lip... is it injured?"
Andrew, recalling the events from yesterday, displayed a hint of displeasure in his eyes and his tone carried a chill. "It's just a minor accidental bite. No need to make a fuss."
Olivia Fu nodded with some doubt, reassuring herself that over the years, aside from her, there hadn't been any other women around Andrew. So, the injury probably wasn't what she was thinking.
With that thought in mind, she reluctantly eased her worries.
"Is there something you need?" Andrew Li asked coldly.
Hearing this, Olivia Fu collected her thoughts and smiled, saying, "Indeed, it's a bit of business. The project our families have been collaborating on is almost ready for signing. I came to confirm with you if there are any other conditions. Also, my parents mentioned they'd like to invite you for dinner tonight. My uncle and aunt will be there too. Do you have the time?"
This dinner was specifically arranged to pressure them into finalizing their marriage.
Andrew gave her a brief glance, his brows furrowing slightly. His tone remained cold, "Please convey to my uncle and aunt that I have prior commitments tonight and won't be able to attend the dinner."
The smile on Olivia Fu's face froze for a moment, and she didn't know what to say.
The purpose of tonight's dinner was indeed to push for her and Andrew's marriage, which should have been settled several years ago. However, after all the waiting, Andrew kept using work as an excuse and, more recently, used Nora as a reason to delay the wedding.
Now, it had been a whole six years!
She had waited for so long without getting any closer to a resolution. How could she not be anxious?
Today, Andrew was still avoiding the topic...
Bitterness tugged at the corners of Olivia Fu's lips as she looked at the man before her. "Andrew Li, I've waited for six years. How can any woman endure that long? I'm willing to continue waiting for you, but if we're meant to be together, why are you refusing to settle our marriage? At the very least, it would put our elders' minds at ease, wouldn't it?"
As she spoke, Olivia Fu carefully observed Andrew's expression. Seeing that he remained unmoved, she plucked up the courage to continue, "We planned our marriage from the beginning. Why..."
"I did promise you a marriage contract," Andrew Li coldly interrupted her. "But the origin of that promise should be crystal clear to you."
Seeing his expression, Olivia Fu felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
"I believe that over the years, the compensation provided by the Li family to the Fu family in various aspects has more than made up for the value of this marriage contract. Even if it isn't fulfilled, no one will say anything."
Andrew's tone was utterly calm, indicating that he had long thought this through.
Hearing these words, Olivia Fu couldn't believe her ears and widened her eyes in shock. She felt a growing sense of panic.
It was clear that Andrew intended to terminate their families' engagement!
