This time, no one was disturbing, and Ja Jiang's treatment process went much smoother. In no time, the old man had already been pierced with over a dozen silver needles. During the process, Ja Jiang hardly blinked, completely focused on the old man.
She was so engrossed in the treatment that she didn't notice that Andrew Li was staring at her intently. Downstairs, Andrew Li had already checked Ja Jiang's background over the years, finding it flawless and exciting. However, this was the first time he saw her in a different light.
Her concentration during the treatment and the assertiveness she displayed in her profession were all qualities he had never seen in her before. Seeing all this today, Andrew Li had mixed emotions. On the side, Edison Qin had been observing the location of Ja Jiang's needle placements and her expressions while needling. As dozens of silver needles were inserted, he was pleasantly surprised, thinking that this doctor might actually be able to save the old man.
When the first silver needle went in, Edison Qin, like everyone else present, found it absurd. But when he recalled the expression on Ja Jiang's face while needling, he somehow found himself believing in her.
So, Edison Qin insisted on keeping everyone in the room. Seeing Ja Jiang's calm and skilled needling technique, he was convinced that she had real skill. Moreover, he noticed that almost every needle she inserted was in a very dangerous spot. Any mistake could not only undo her previous work but also endanger the old man's life.
He believed that Ja Jiang wouldn't risk the old man's life. This meant that her knowledge of acupuncture and acupoints was indeed top-notch. Thinking of this, Edison Qin felt both delighted and deeply respectful of Ja Jiang.
She appeared to be younger than him, but she had such great ability; it was not something to be underestimated. The room fell silent for a while. After nearly twenty minutes, with a forehead covered in sweat, Ja Jiang finished inserting the last silver needle and showed a relaxed expression on her face.
"It's done. Let the old man rely on these for now. Remove the needles in an hour," she said, looking at the two people by the sickbed.
Edison Qin breathed a long sigh of relief, carefully helping the old man lean against the bedhead, and asked, "When will my grandfather probably wake up?"
"After the needles are removed, he should wake up," Ja Jiang replied, getting up to fetch a tissue to wipe her sweat. Just as she reached out for the tissue box, her clothes were tugged gently.
Ja Jiang paused, looking down in confusion, and met the bright, starry eyes of a little girl. Although she knew this was Andrew Li's child with someone else, she couldn't bring herself to be unkind. Seeing the angelic face, she hesitated.
When she looked over, the little girl, with anticipation in her eyes, took out a neatly folded handkerchief from her pocket and held it up toward Ja Jiang. Ja Jiang smiled at her and said, "Thank you," as she reached out to take the handkerchief from the little girl.
The little girl smiled happily, her eyes crinkling at the corners, and then turned to pour water for Ja Jiang. On the side, Andrew Li watched silently as the little girl approached Ja Jiang with such eagerness, his gaze deepening.
This little girl was approaching someone so warmly for the first time. However, given their relationship, Andrew Li felt it was only natural. Edison Qin, unaware of the circumstances, was surprised and commented, "Dr. Jiang, it seems like our Nora really likes you. This is the first time I've seen her so close to someone!"
