"Mommy, who is that Andrew Li? Why do we have to hide from him?" Hale and Harlan saw their mommy looking absent-minded and shook her hand, asking knowingly.
Ja Jiang slowly came back to her senses, patted their heads, and smiled as if nothing had happened. "He's not an important person, just someone Mommy had a little misunderstanding with in the past. Both of you, if you ever hear that name, make sure to stay away, okay?"
The two little ones nodded obediently, saying, "Okay, Mommy."
Waiting for Mommy to shift her gaze away, the two of them exchanged a curious glance. They couldn't help but wonder what had happened between Mommy and Daddy in the past. It seemed like quite a misunderstanding!
Ja Jiang nodded and, while still concerned about the situation with Ava Xi, the voices of the two little ones spoke up again.
"Mommy, we left in such a hurry earlier. If that person becomes suspicious and checks the surveillance, it will be easy for him to find us," Hale kindly reminded her.
A hint of panic crossed Ja Jiang's eyes. "Oh no, I completely forgot about that. What should we do?" She was so preoccupied with running away that she had forgotten the restaurant had surveillance cameras. There was a chance that Andrew Li was already on his way here...
Thinking of this possibility, Ja Jiang even had the impulse to take the two little ones and head straight home.
Seeing Mommy's anxiety, the two little ones smiled wryly, turned their heads away, and waited until the tension in their lips had subsided before reassuring her. "Mommy, don't worry, I'll handle it."
Saying this, Harlan took the laptop from the car, and his little hands flew over the keyboard. In no time, he hacked into the restaurant's surveillance system and deleted all the footage related to them.
"Done!" After erasing the surveillance, Harlan looked up with sparkling eyes at Mommy, as if seeking praise.
Ja Jiang let out a long sigh of relief and hugged the two little ones. "Thank goodness for you both. You've solved a big problem!"
The two little ones knew she was still nervous, so they let her hug them for a while. When Mommy finally let go of them, Hale asked, "Mommy, should we leave now, or wait for Auntie to come out?"
Ja Jiang had calmed down and looked at the empty entrance of the parking lot. "Let's wait a little longer."
The two little ones nodded obediently.
Meanwhile, in the restaurant's private room:
Andrew Li, seeing that he couldn't get any answers from the woman in front of him, suppressed the anger surging within him and said indifferently, "I apologize for my presumption earlier... Thank you for helping me find my daughter. There's nothing more to discuss. We'll leave now and won't disturb your dinner with your friends."
With that, he turned to his daughter beside the table. "Nora, come here."
The little Miss reluctantly pursed her lips and turned away from him, showing her displeasure.
Seeing this, Barry Lu, the assistant, quickly stepped forward and lifted the little lady up.
The car slowly started. Andrew Li sat in the back seat, reached out, and picked up his daughter, placing her on his lap. The little Miss had nowhere to hide, so she had to be held like a doll. She turned her head away, refusing to look at him.
"Tell Daddy, besides that lady, was there another lady with you just now?" Andrew Li asked gently.
The little Miss glanced at him, and when she thought about how the pretty lady had left because of him, she felt even more upset. She refused to respond and avoided his large hand.
Seeing this, Andrew Li helplessly touched his lips and realized he had no way to deal with his little princess. "If you don't want to talk, Daddy won't force you, but promise Daddy that you won't run away from home next time."
After saying that, he raised his eyes and looked at Barry Lu in the front seat. He calmly instructed, "Go check the surveillance footage from that restaurant."
It seemed like he wasn't giving up just yet.
Barry Lu sighed and complied, saying, "Yes, Sir!"
