Tyler Mo, seeing the breathless arrival of Simon Li, quickly got up and ingratiated himself, saying, "Mr. Li, are you looking for William Lin? Has he caused trouble again? He was causing a scene here just now! He's already been taken away by the inspector!"
"What?" Simon Li responded in disbelief upon hearing Tyler Mo's words.
You see, Simon Li had gone to great lengths to obtain information about William Lin. After learning that William Lin was working in one of his companies, he had his men stake out the company's entrance. They were instructed to call him immediately if they saw William Lin.
Early in the morning, one of his men who had been staking out the company called to inform him that he had seen William Lin there.
Normally, Simon Li would sleep in until 10 a.m., but upon receiving the news, he jumped out of bed, didn't even have time to wash his face, and drove straight to the company.
Now that he had arrived at the company, and Tyler Mo was telling him that William Lin had been taken away by an inspector, Simon Li was furious.
He grabbed Tyler Mo's collar and demanded an explanation.
Seeing Simon Li's anger, Tyler Mo felt a sense of satisfaction, thinking that William Lin had surely provoked Mr. Li. He quickly recounted the whole incident to Simon Li, even exaggerating the part about how he had made life difficult for William Lin, hoping to make a good impression in front of the company's CEO.
When Simon Li finished listening to the whole story, he let out three consecutive exclamations of approval.
Tyler Mo, feeling pleased with himself, said, "For Mr. Li, I'd willingly go through fire and water!"
Simon Li nodded and gave Tyler Mo a resounding slap across the face, shattering the remaining half of his glasses. "You fool! No wonder the sales department's performance hasn't improved with a manager like you!"
? ? ?
Tyler Mo was suddenly taken aback. Why wasn't he praising me? I did a good job of making you angry.
Simon Li, holding his breath, declared, "Today, everyone who has had conflicts with William Lin should go to the finance department to collect their salaries and leave! I don't want to see you here anymore. Especially you!" He pointed at Tyler Mo. "Hurry up and leave. If I ever see you again, I'll cut out your tongue and feed it to the dogs!" Simon Li scolded Tyler Mo again.
After saying this, Simon Li walked out without paying any attention to the bewildered onlookers.
Once outside the company, he quickly got into his car, made some phone calls to inquire, and then headed towards the police station.
Meanwhile, William Lin had already followed Judy Li to the police station.
William Lin was handcuffed to a chair, while Judy Li stood by, deep in thought about how to begin the conversation.
The two criminals from the previous case had already been dealt with; both were wanted red-listed criminals responsible for multiple fatalities.
Today, William Lin decided to cause trouble just after the commendation report for solving the previous case had been submitted. This put Judy Li in a difficult position.
Seeing Judy Li remain silent for a while, William Lin urged, "Just ask me already! Your silence is making me more anxious!"
"Alright," Judy Li began to sit on a bench and prepare to start the questioning when the door to the interrogation room swung open.
A patrol officer entered and whispered something into Judy Li's ear. After hearing this, Judy Li stared at William Lin with a shocked expression.
The scar-faced criminal from the previous case had awoken with severely diminished intelligence, effectively functioning at the level of a three-year-old. The other criminal remained tight-lipped, forcing Judy Li to rely on the evidence from their previous cases and William Lin's testimony.
When William Lin had mentioned that there had been a conflict between the two criminals, Judy Li had initially felt that something was amiss, but lacked evidence to prove it.
Now, the patrol officer had informed her that Leo Zhao's statement described William Lin singlehandedly taking on a security team and bending a riot baton with his bare hands, portraying him as an extremely violent criminal.
Judy Li stood up, approached William Lin, and circled him carefully, studying him closely.
Then, she stopped directly in front of him, leaned in close to his face, and said, "Fight me!"
"What?" William Lin thought he must have misheard. Wasn't it time to interrogate the case?
"I said, fight me. I want to see if you're as good as they say," Judy Li said slowly, word by word, while removing the handcuffs from William Lin's wrists.
Judy Li was looking for a worthy opponent. She came from a family with a long military tradition and had grown up in a military district. She had always admired the military, and in secret, she had enrolled in the peacekeeping force overseas without her family's knowledge.
And all of this started because of a single sentence from her grandfather: "Girls should get married and have children, be good wives, and raise children." She just wanted to prove that women were just as capable as men, and she succeeded.
She performed as well as, if not better than, her male counterparts. After her career in the peacekeeping force ended, she was forcibly recalled by her family, and the military district wouldn't let her stay, so they assigned her to this patrol duty.
However, her personality from a young age had shaped her into someone who couldn't stay quiet. She was always at the forefront of major cases and exercises in the city, and her achievements surpassed those of her male colleagues. Now, anyone who encountered her would either forfeit or prepare to be bedridden for ten days or more.
Hearing her colleagues talk about how formidable William Lin was ignited her restless heart. Today, she had to test how skilled the man who bent a riot baton with his bare hands really was.
William Lin, seeing Judy Li's determined stance, quickly said, "Sis, please don't do this. I really can't!"
But Judy Li seemed not to have heard him and delivered a powerful high kick.
Seeing the ferocious kick, William Lin dodged quickly, and Judy Li's long leg, encased in tactical boots, landed on the metal bench.
The bench trembled from the impact.
Unable to land a blow, Judy Li continued her attacks inside the interrogation room, while William Lin kept evading.
Finally, Judy Li stopped and said, "Are you even a man? Can you fight me?"
Desperate, William Lin pleaded, "I can't hit a woman! Please spare me!"
Ignoring his pleas, Judy Li coldly snorted and said, "If you don't spar with me today, you won't be leaving here!"
Hearing this, William Lin understood that he wouldn't leave without a fight. He asked, "Are you sure? Will you release me once we spar?"
Judy Li nodded. Her colleague had already confirmed that William Lin wasn't significantly at fault; he had only acted due to his superior's harassment. Compensating the victim's medical expenses would likely be enough to secure his release.
However, hearing about William Lin's abilities, and with no major cases at hand, Judy Li was itching for a challenge, so she wanted to spar with him.
Seeing Judy Li's nod, William Lin also wanted to get this over with and return quickly. He said, "This place is too small. It's not suitable for a proper fight."
Hearing this, Judy Li quickly suggested, "Let's go to the outdoor field."
She opened the door to the interrogation room and led the way outside, with William Lin following closely. They both headed to the outdoor field.
